Great trek, tough after rains. Be ready to dirty your shoes, back and pants. Don't carry too heavy a load. Really fun time with a partner or family, don't go alone! The trek took about 4 hours (Le Pouce Classic - Green color) Give me a like if this helped.

This is one of the most picturesque treks on the island with an almost 360 view near and at the top. This trek is somewhere between moderate and easy at the beginning (the lift is not small). However, there is a lot of climbing needed at the end of it if you wish to get to the Le Pouce Mountain Peak itself. The trek becomes very slippery and muddy after the rain, so one should be careful. Mind that the upper you go, the windier it gets. And it can be quite cold at the top because of the wind - I recommend having something you can put on. There are places where the trek is very narrow and there are also parts where you'll be getting through the bushes. But the view makes it up for all the challenges. The last part of the trek is basically climbing. We've seen some people dealing with it easily, when others not even starting. It is challenging indeed and there will definitely be a rush of adrenaline because of the height. But no matter whether you decide to climb to the peak or not - you'll be enjoying the views anyways. This hike takes around 4 hours both ways (in a muddy condition) - from the car park to the peak and back. So probably it won't take that long when it's not slippery.

This was a fantastic hike from the moka carpark. I would say it's an easy enough hike to the viewpoint where the safe trail ends, and then it becomes slightly more challenging to get to the summit a bit of a scramble and probably not for people who are sensitive to heights. But making it up to the summit is very rewarding with a 360 panorama of the island it took me 1 hour to hike to the summit in dry conditions. I am fairly fit if you want to walk at a leisurely pace, give it 1.5-2 hours to hike up and an hour to decent. Give yourself plenty of time at the top. it's well worth It and not a vista you will get bored of quickly.

The trek is relatively easy, the end is a bit steep but doable. We started in St. Pierre and it took about 1.5hrs to climb up (there's lots to see, nice views in all directions). Some people are just selfish and leave their garbage behind :( cans, plastic bottles and the like ). Shame on them!!!

Very nice hike - the starting point is the spacious parking lot in Moka. The path is easy to find and signposted to the ridge below the summit. There is a sign there telling you to turn back. However, there is still a path leading to the actual summit - a little climbing is necessary in the last section, but it is doable with trail shoes. Very nice view of the entire north of the island (unfortunately not on the day we were up there). The path leads over a lot of stones and in the last section over a gully - when it is wet the gully becomes muddy and the stones become very slippery.

Medium strenuous climb. MUST have hiking shoes with best possible grip since most of the trail is extremely slippery. I fell a few times coming down despite this being during the dry season. Beautiful views once you are up on "plateau". Don't risk final ascent if you have vertigo or bad shoes!

It's gorgeous! The hike from the small parking lot from Moka side took me about 1h 15min. The last part to the peak requires some real climbing so be aware of that. Also i'd suggest you start early. As for the view it's breathtaking, it's incredible, enjoy

One of the popular hiking destination in Mauritius. The hiking trail is well maintained and takes about 60-90 minutes to reach the peak. All through the hike, you will get to enjoy the beautiful view of Port Louis on the left and Moka on the right. But ensure you are equipped with proper cloths, it can get really windy and cold towards the peak even in summer months. Recommend hiking in the morning to witness the beautiful sunrise or towards the evening to see the sunset. Have attached few pictures.

Went there for a second time experience. It was even better. Very practical and accessible for those amateurs able to do hiking. Climbing the peak gives you the thrill and the views from the top gives you a breath-taking experience. What a view! Awesome.. go for it..

Nice hike, the first one gets a bit challenging in the last 200m. Lots of plants on the path and you will get dirty. The view is certainly great. We were at the top at 7 a.m. and that was still too early, the summit was in fog or clouds.

Fairly moderate trekking with clearly marked trails. The last stretch leading to the peak was a bit challenging due to strong winds and rains. I would recommend wearing trekking shoes with a good grip if you are trekking in the rains. Lives upto the adage - Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations

Hike for people with the ability to climb stony paths and narrow in places. It's worth it to sweat and enjoy this beautiful panorama. Not recommended at all for young children.

The shortest hike from the parking lot is about 4 km circular with an elevation gain of about 360 meters (green). Unfortunately you can hardly see the sea, which is what we expected based on the pictures. It was very rocky in between, so it was challenging. We also tried the last few meters of climbing, but just before the summit we didn't dare go any higher. When the sun shines, it gets really warm. You should take enough water with you. But it was worth it.

Breathtaking view. It took us 1 hour to climb. No difficulty finding the way, there is only one anyway. However, you should be free from giddiness for the last 5 minutes. Sneakers are enough. But only in dry weather, otherwise it is really slippery and very muddy.

It was cloudy and fresh, I was lucky that day) I went alone along a small route, it took me 1 hour 40 minutes) the views are beautiful, and there were monkeys waiting for me at the top)

4/5 because I cannot judge for other circumstances. For me, it was raining so the track was muddy and slippery. I go around with hiking poles and I was rhebonly one today... did seem like the best option though. Didn't do the final ascend because of my fear of heights...my girlfriend did it, sent down semi-seated but it seemed safe enough..views are amazing, no matter if you ascend or stay at the clearing.

Beautiful mountain, breathtaking views. Really recommend to visit, it takes about an 1-1,5 hours to get to the top almost. Last part to the summit is for more experienced people, but its really worth it.

Nice and easy track to the peak. About 1 hour or so hiking. Slippery when it is raining or it has rained the day before. Once at the peak, you can have a nice overview of Port Louis, Moka, St Pierre, Ébène, Pailles and Pieter Both. Not much parking on the St Pierre side. Depending on the season, you can have lots of guavas to eat.

Not a hard trek with absolutely spectacular views! Must do! This is a beautiful little trek to do with easy terrain most of the way except when you are close to the peak. As you progress through the trek, the terrain changes from trees to bushes and at various points through the trek, minds and hearts are energised by spectacular views. The trek itself took us about 2 hours ( with not much fitness training ). I would recommend planning 2-3 hours for a novice. Please ensure you carry sunscreen lotions , insect repellants, plenty of water and some sugary snack with you. Trekking shoes are best but not absolutely necessary!
