Very nice place. Older, so don't expect new rooms/furnishings, etc., but what's there is well kept and nice. The only complaint on the room is that the shower head is something that looks like it's out of the 80s. Please replace that. Also, it would help if there was some map on the website showing you where each house/cottage was. They bring you up drinks of your choice each morning at 7:15 and leave them outside the room, which I was not aware of. Very nice touch there. Free breakfast with your stay is whatever you want to eat...just turn in the check at the front desk. Not a "you get to pick this or that" situation. Whole check is taken care of except for the tip. The food is top notch, both breakfast and dinner. Dinner rolls especially good, and they gave us more when we finished the first batch. Definitely not a cheap room...$250 is the low end, but for an indulgence, it's a nice treat.

We came here for breakfast and it was so worth it! Charming, historic space and friendly staff. We started with a cinnamon roll as an appetizer on our waitress’s advice and it was homemade and delicious. Baked perfectly with a tender center (these are only available on Sundays in the winter season). We followed with their famous stuffed French toast and I will dream about it, it was that good. Stuffed with a cream cheese filling and topped with cherries, and served with door County syrup, it was DELICIOUS! Don’t miss it. We stuck with coffee, but the cherry mimosas looked beautiful and tasty. Restrooms were clean. Cute little gift shop area too.

Went here for dinner. Food was excellent. I'm typically not big into fish but I've been told this is one of THE places to go in door county. It definitely did not disappoint. The fish was super tasty. I also absolutely loved the cherry pie (another thing I don't typically love) It tasted so fresh and went well with the meal. Watching the boil before dinner was also great and entertaining. I enjoyed hearing about the boilers backstory on fishing. It was overall a great experience. I look forward to coming back on my next door county trip!

My husband & I stayed at the White Gull Inn for 4 nights and it was nothing less than PERFECT!!! We decided at the last minute to see if we could get a room here. It happened that a room was available for 2 nights and another room was available for the following 2 nights. The staff was so gracious and moved our luggage from one room to the other while we were out and about. Both rooms were SO CLEAN!! The bathrooms were exceptionally clean!! Both rooms had 2 person whirlpool tubs. Linens and towels were SO CLEAN too!! The room had a refrigerator which we were able to keep left overs in from a night's meal out. Each morning we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast in the dining room. Breakfast was included in our room price. We had their French toast every morning because it was SO GOOD!! I had the French toast that won best breakfast on Good Morning America in 2010. It was French toast filled with cream cheese and cherries! SO YUMMY!!! (I asked for extra cherries and I substituted that for meat :). We attended the fish boil at this Inn too. It was interesting to listen to the presenter explain about his life experiences in Door County. My husband loved the whitefish that was served. He even had seconds!! I personally did not like it because there were so many bones in the piece I had and the skin was still on the fish making it not very appetizing. The Inn is located on a quiet dead end street (no traffic noise at night) and you can walk to the water where the sunsets are amazing! We will definitely be back to this Inn next October to enjoy the leaves turning in the fall.

Delicious breakfast in this historic building. We tried the cherry stuffed French toast and the ham & cheese omelette with mushrooms and Door County cherries on the side. Everything was excellent and tasted great with a seasonal apple cider There was a 40 minute wait on a Tuesday morning, which means it’s popular, and btw it is worth the wait. They call it a Door County tradition so make sure you check it out!

This review is just for the restaurant. If you are coming for weekend breakfast, be prepared to wait; we waited over an hour for a table for two around 9am on a Saturday morning. However, they text you when the table is ready and you can walk around town while you wait. The food is worth it; fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. Our server was great and everything came out very fast. The signature cherry stuffed french toast is SO GOOD. Not too sweet and incredibly satisfying. Can't wait to return!

We knew this was a highly rated breakfast spot and we were not disappointed. Parking is a little challenging, but the wait to eat breakfast at 9am as only 10 minutes. Lovely decor; full, but not too noisy dining room. My husband had the classic French toast and I had the corned beef hash. Both were yummy...as was the peach coffee cake we shared. Great service, too.

Really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed three nights and somehow I overlooked that breakfast is included so that was such a pleasant surprise checking in - even more so is that they reserve a time for you! Love the charm and excellent service here. A coffee tray outside your door at 7am was such a nice added touch as well. All of the staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating. I have always wanted to sit by the fireplace dining and they reserved the table for us. Location of course is amazing. I'm giving 4 stars only because Room 2 is very tight - the built ins really help for storage and the tall ceilings and balcony make the room feel bigger which is helpful. The bathroom is just VERY tight, especially the shower stall and I am a reasonably small person. I would stay again, but would opt to skip Room 2 for us. WGI is a true gem.

We went to the fish boil and it was fair at best. The food was pretty good but the experience of the boil was lacking. The man spoke for maybe 6 or 7 minutes and half the time we couldn't hear what he was saying. He suddenly said, "get your cameras ready' and the flames burst and that was it. He started talking at 4:53 (5:00 seating) and we had dinner, drinks and were out by 5:45. It was hot in the restaurant and flies were landing like mad. The server was the best part of the dinner! When we left the hostess just stood there. NO thank you's or goodbye....not what we expected at all. Last year we went to the Old Post Office fish boil and it was way better. We sat and watched the fish being cooked and hear the story of the place. It was way more of an event that WGI.

Just visiting for the breakfast. It was a nice place to sit down for a "fancy" breakfast. Unique and interesting options (cream cheese and cherry filled French toast). Portion sizes standard with respect to price. Great location, but make sure you plan your parking and walking if you want to visit shopping. Side street parking could be limited depending on the day/time.

Went for brunch. Pretty setting, lovely fireplace. The famous stuffed French toast was good and the hash browns were perfectly crispy. It’s likely more picturesque on the property in the summer. Typical Door County Prices but the portions are large. Easy walking trail and beach nearby.

I had my first fish boil experience at the White Gull Inn, and it did not disappoint! The fish boiler was very interesting and entertaining, and the boil over and the flames were awe inspiring, and we were ready for dinner! The fish and potatoes were excellent, and the cherry pie for dessert was a fitting ending. As an added bonus, I met a couple who recommended the Blind Horse Winery in Kohler, which we went to, immensely enjoyed, and highly recommend. The White Gull was recommended by many locals, and it certainly lived up to its top billing!

Beautiful quaint inn, wonderful welcoming staff, good location (mid peninsula), good food. Room was senior-friendly. One of the best fish boils in Door. Only complaints: improve water pressure in room (Room No. 1) and shake up the dinner menu a bit. We've stayed at this inn for about 20 years. We highly recommend the White Gull Inn.

One of the best spots for breakfast in the Door County Peninsula. The wait staff is one of the nicest we have talked with in a while - always making sure you are feeling welcomed. If you are in the Fish Creek area or beyond this is a most stop for one of the best breakfast’s I have had.

A trip to Door County is never complete without a fish boil! Came to the White Gull Inn for their well-known fish boil. Getting there early is key to getting the full experience and how you get the best spot. We started things off with drinks outside and then sat around the boil to watch and listen to the great story. After the boil was complete we were led inside where they had a table all ready for us. The white fish was good, but had a little too many bones that made it just annoying to eat. The potatoes were absolutely delicious. Ended the night with some door county cherry pie, so good! Overall, it was a good experience and I always recommend trying a different fish boil each time you visit Door County. So next time, the White Gull Inn should be on your list!

My husband and I went here for the Friday night fish boil. I had never been to a fish boil so I wasn't sure about it, but the fish was really amazing, as was the wine, dessert, and the service. It was the best dinner I have had in a really long time and would love to go again next time we are in town.

Love breakfast here, though it would be amazing if you could make a reservation for breakfast. Parking can be a bit tough to find. LOVE that stuffed french toast and the cherry pancakes.

The man leading the fish boil, Neil, was very knowledgeable and engaging. He really made us feel like part of the experience and answered all of our questions! And the food was delicious! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food, and great price!

This is where I will go for my fish boils - and I've been around! Everything is excellent! The fisherman was excellent and informative! The fish was amazing, and yes, they debone their fish, and might I say they do a fantastic job! They offer more of everything. Super attentive waiters, but not overly bearing at all. They serve wine in glasses, not plastic cups. Prices are so reasonable. We had the best experience, and we'll be back!

It was so good I ate here twice during my week in Door County. Gluten free options for me. So when the bread comes out, the server brought me a piece of gluten free bread on a small plate. If you're gluten free, you know how rare that is.

We didn't stay here but did have breakfast here. We couldn't make a reservation and knew there would be a wait. We went on a Friday morning, and the wait was an hour and fifteen minutes. It was worth the wait! There are shops nearby, so we shopped around. They call when your tables are available. We shared the door county cherry stuffed french toast and the eggs and hashbrowns. They do offer vegetarian sausage links, which I had, and they were good. They food was great and so was the service.

Came here for breakfast/bunch based off of friend's recommendation and the great reviews. We waited for an hour, but it was a Saturday morning in August and there are plenty of shops nearby to check out. They make it easy and convenient by sending you a text. When inside, it is cozy and quaint, and everyone is friendly. The service was good and the food was tasty, but I wouldn't say it was out of this world. We did try their famous cherry French toast; it was too rich and sweet for me, but my husband really enjoyed it.

One of the best fish boils in Fish Creek or dare I say Door County. The fish is seasoned with salt to perfection and de boned well, the coleslaw is cream done right and butter and potatoes you can't go wrong and to finish with cherry pie and ice cream with great local Wisconsin adult beverages to go hand in hand. The White Gull is a must to eat at... Now, I just need to stay the night.

We came here for breakfast and had the classic cherry stuffed french toast. It was a humongous portion, which I did finish, but I was stuffed afterwards. As expected it was excellent and the location is very nice, you can tell this is quite a nice place to stay (I'm sure the rooms aren't cheap!). There was a long wait which was expected, but there's a nice little area you can get some pastries and coffee while you wait.

I was in Green Bay visiting family and friends and we went up to Door County and we had to stop here for breakfast... This is only my second or third time coming here, but I had to get the stuffed French toast because it's incredibly delicious! And the hash browns were amazing too! Come here, you won't be disappointed!

Very cute cottage for your stay. They only have a few rooms so you need to secure a room if you are looking to stay here well in advance. When you stay at the White Gull Inn - you are brought coffee on a tray every morning. You also have breakfast included with your stay. We have been going to DC for years and this is such a cute / historic place to stay and enjoy breakfast. The Door County Cherry French toast is truly amazing and a must try! No wonder it is rated on America's Best! Cannot say more wonderful things about this Inn and breakfast place in Fish Creek.

We did not stay, but we ate breakfast downstairs one morning during our trip. Yhe dining room was incredibly cozy, the coffee was warm, and the food was delicious; strongly recommend the Door County cherry stuffed French toast-- it was decadent! Even if you don't stay in a room, if you're in Fish Creek, dining there is a must!

We just went for the fish boil. I don't like fish, so I had the chicken. Watching the boil master at work on the patio with a glass of wine was fantastic. The chicken was very well prepared. My boyfriend loved the fish. He said it was hands down his favorite part of the trip.

We’ve talked for years about staying for a weekend at the Inn, after having had breakfast here for 30+ years. It was exactly as I figured it would be. It’s 150 years old, so rooms are small and private bathrooms were non existent, so the shower was the size of a phone booth. But what a cool porch to sit and enjoy the beautiful weather from. Recommend the experience.

We dined here Saturday morning, arrived around 8 AM and had a 25 minute wait, to be expected. Staff were very friendly & kind! Would definitely recommend the Cherry Cream Cheese french toast & Cherry Pancakes, as well as the fresh Granola with milk. Definitely a must stop!

This review is for the restaurant: I had a veggie omelette, cherry pancakes, and the award winning stuffed French toast. Everything was as good as I expected, including the service. Parking is on the street. Large indoor dining room and an outdoor patio is available. Bathrooms are clean. Prices are competitive with other similar restaurants.

We had breakfast here and it was one of the best experiences. The cherry and cream cheese stuffed french toast is out of the world. The pancakes and hash browns were good too. I definitely recommend coming here for breakfast. We walked around and looked at the shops nearby while we waited for our table.

We went with a group of 5 adults and 4 children. They were very family friendly. Service was quick and friendly. High chairs available. The food was delicious and fast! Enjoyed the coffee for around $4/cup with refill available. I had the French toast with cream cheese and cherries! Absolutely delicious and not too sweet! We had a great time and beautiful atmosphere.

We came here for a fish boil dinner and it was fantastic. The inside of the restaurant was so comfortable. For $23 per person, we got fish, potatoes, coleslaw and a slice of cherry pie. You were given seconds too. They were able to make a special vegan meal with faro salad that was also tasty. The cherry black tea was delightful too.

This is a wonderful place to have a new years dinner, and the prices are not too high :) I totally recommend the butter squash ravioli and the fall salad. Everything was perfectly cooked. I have been here so many times through our the years. From 2015- 2023 and I will gladly continue coming here almost every year! 😁out of all the places I recommended this is by far the best one yet!! Also you get your food very fast and the service is amazing 😍

We had a wonderful stay at the inn. We booked room #2 which is located in the main building. While it’s one of the smaller rooms, it’s still cozy and has access to the connecting balcony. The staff was also super helpful and kind. We loved the cookies, coffee, and cider in the afternoons and of course the included breakfast! Definitely put this place on your list if you haven’t stayed before.

Went to the White Gull for their breakfast. Specifically their cherry stuffed french toast. It is delicious! You will have to wait, which could be an hour, before you are seated. Only those who stay at the inn can get reservations. Food is fabulous and service is good.

We did not stay overnight at the Inn but my husband and I have been to the fish boil 2 times and had to bring our families together for the 3rd visit! We love it so much! All you can eat fish, potatoes, and coleslaw. We love coming up in the winter to see the the Christmas decorations. The atmosphere is welcoming and cheery! Can’t wait to come back again.

We did not stay at the inn, but had breakfast. Great little place just walking distance from the lake. Our expectations were that this would be an expensive restaurant to eat at...we were never more WRONG! Prices were so reasonable! The food was absolutely AMAZING! I had the Cherry pancakes which had cherries 🍒 in the batter as well as on top. DELICIOUS! My husband had the DC omelet and it was so light and just perfect! We also shared a plate of the corned beef hash that was so good as well. They serve it with your choice of ketsup or hot sauce and being the spices girl I am I had the hot sauce! The service was like no other. Our waitress came every few minutes to refill water and coffee. Our food only took a short time to be served as well. Then there is the beautiful decor inside. We were fortunate to be seated right next to the natural fireplace but entire place was decorated for Christmas so it was lovely in any direction. They also have a very nice gift shop offering a nice selection of decorations and cute plates and coffee cups etc. Over one of our best breakfast dining experiences in DC! Now it's your turn to decide!
