I always hesitate to leave reviews on my 'diamonds in the rough' places. I sort of want to keep this place as my own secret. Newport Resort is one of those places for me (us). We keep coming back year after year and love it! The location is probably the best in Door County in my opinion. Always clean and nice staff too. 👌

The two bedrooms with their own bathrooms is ideal when staying with another couple. The kitchen comes in handy and the living room is comfy after a long day of hiking. We really enjoy sitting out on the patio reading our books and having our coffee and breakfast in the morning. Although the hotel has dated since our last day, it is still the best value around.

Great location, beautiful suite with fireplace and balcony. Nice hot tub and pool. Beautiful grounds keeping. 24 hour coffee. Gift shop was high quality and we bought sweatshirts and cups. Perfect.

Lovely hotel with a great location in Egg Harbor! It is very nice to have a full kitchen in the room, we enjoyed having a leisurely breakfast before heading out for the day. The pool and hot tub area were terrific and very well maintained. We would definitely return when in the area.

Beautiful resort and rooms. Rooms were very clean, spacious, and comfortable. Beds and pillows were also very comfortable. Very quiet for sleeping at night. The area felt very safe. Front desk staff were very kind and helpful. Don't hesitate to book here! (I stayed on weekdays.)

Resort is a bit dated but so full of charm. Very quiet, set back from the road. Close to Egg Harbor so we could easily walk into town for shopping, watching the sun set by the water, and grab groceries. The service was amazing. We set our trash cans and laundry basket outside the door and clean towels and supplies would 'magically ' appear!

Our stay at Newport was awesome!! We had our 3 exchange students with us and they had a blast!! On the Sunday of our stay we never even left the hotel! Used the pool for hours and then went back to our room, played some games and made a yummy supper as it snowed all day!! It was a great inexpensive spring break for all of us. Thanks again Newport Resort

We were mostly happy with our stay. The rooms were as we expected and staff was friendly for our interactions. My only complaint was the indoor swimming pool and the associated lack of response from hotel staff. The swimming pool was so cloudy that markings on the shallowest part of the swimming pool were indistinguishable (we took photos that show the murky water but are unable to include them here). It made us uncomfortable using the swimming pool which was a major factor in booking this hotel. Furthermore, when I sent a message to hotel staff I did not receive a response that adequately addressed our concerns. When I asked them about it in person, they dismissed my concern. We understand that maintenance issues happen, but it would have been nice to hear back from the hotel addressing our concerns. Their response was a canned answer that did not answer our questions or address our concerns.

Our favorite resort! Rooms are very nice with all the amenities of home. Nice balcony to relax on as well. The pool area is is really nice along with a hot tub. Friendly staff that are working the front desk! We will definitely be coming back.

I had a wonderful stay! The staff I interacted with was friendly and accommodating, they really made me feel welcome. I had been upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite and the suite had everything I could have needed. I especially loved that it had a full kitchen area including dishes and cookware. I will definitely stay here again when I’m in the area again!

Newport was great for us and our two kids! The indoor pool was a great evening activity (or rainy day filler) My oldest loved the playroom with a ball pit. The little store had frozen pizza and some microwave options if my kids didn't want to eat what we served them. Super walkable to downtown Egg Harbor. We will be back.

Rooms are a bit dated but still nice hotel, in a great location. Outdoor / indoor pool & hot tub are all spacious. Has nice amenities like a workout room & indoor / outdoor play area for kids. Front desk staff is very friendly. Would definitely return.

First time at the hotel. Great location. Pleasantly surprised to find an electric car charger basically across the street! The room was in my name and our guests arrived before us. Not sure if our friends used my name but a bit surprised that they got a key to the room fairly easy... Maybe ask for IDs before giving keys away? Room was the requested 2-bedroom unit, each with access to a bathroom. Overall, the room had everything we needed for two families, each with one kid (though having 3-4 adults and 2 children in the space was a bit tight...) The sofa bed where the kids slept did not have a fitted sheet and we used an extra blanket to cover the mattress (we could have asked but were too lazy). The shower stall in the master bath is small and I am 5'4"! Very small space to place soap, shampoo, and conditioner within the shower. Next to impossible to shave legs while in the shower. I wish there were more hooks, towel bars, and/or a clothes line to be able to hang swimsuits after using the pool and all the towels after bathing. The second bedroom did not have an a/c unit - that was odd. Indoor pool was great on the rainy day. Definitely a family friendly place.

We’ve stayed here twice with our family & love that we can get a 2 room suite when traveling with our children. There’s an awesome indoor play area for little kids and an indoor pool for rainy day activities. We love the location - right off the main drag and walkable to Egg Harbor attractions (the marina) and restaurants. The rooms could use a few minor cosmetic updates and most recently our fireplace was doing some wonky stuff but overall we really like this resort and will continue to stay here on our annual trips to Door County.

The hotel rooms need updating and cleaning. Our room, which we paid a good price for, smelled musty, the blankets were stained, the bathroom was dirty and the glass wear had lipstick on the rim. The rooms, which I thought had been renovated had not been, they are very dated. The pool area was dirty and the boards on the floor of the sauna were loose and popping up which is very hazardous. I really use to enjoy the Newport, but until there is some updating and clean up, I don't think I'll stay there again,

Great place for family gatherings. 2 bedroom suites are large enough for medium sized gatherings and it's easy to cook for them in the efficient and well equipped kitchen. The location is great. Kids love the pool. Be aware that the key cards are disabled one half hour before published departure time.

We love The Newport Resort! The staff are so friendly! Check in and check out was a breeze! The suites are beautiful! They have a full size kitchen, fireplace and a walk out deck! The pool and hot tub area is always cleans eith plenty of extra towels. Newport resort is our go to when we're in Door County! ❤️

Three stars for a three star resort. Rooms are nice with a fireplace and kitchen area. And there is a nice, large indoor pool. BUT, if you plan to stay, call ahead to see if there are any children's parties scheduled. There were three scheduled during our time there, which resulted in a cacophony of noise and activity both in the pool area and hallways. Still don't know why we were placed by one of the rentable party rooms for our stay.

We went during the off-season just before Thanksgiving. The resort was already decorated for Christmas which gave off a festive vibe. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and spacious, and our kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool, game room, and play land. We'll be back.

We enjoy staying at the newport resort. The location is wonderful as you are in walking distance to everything in town. They have a nice big pool and whirlpool as well. We really like the fact that every room has a kitchen and you can cook your own meals.

Excellent for kids. Loved that they had coffee ready 24/7. Pool was super nice not cold so my 3 year old could swim for awhile without being cold. Location was great. Loved the grills being available. Very clean and friendly staff

Professional staff. Clean and updated rooms. Nice facilities, they even have a soft play area for small kids with tunnels and a ball pit. The unit had nice accommodations, good layout, updated kitchen and furniture. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were nice. Two seating chairs were moderately comfortable but the couch was not comfortable to sit on. There's a gas fireplace which provides more ambience than warmth. The kitchen is updates and there were two eating areas, one indoors and the other outside. My two complaints are 1). there was an awful perfume smell upon entry in the kitchen area. We couldn't figure out where it was coming from and it did not dissipate for our whole stay. 2). the towels need to be replaced. They are very rough on the skin and reaching the end of their life.

Newport is a great spot to stay in DC. Not only is Egg Harbor centrally-ish located, the property is really nice. The rooms are outfitted with a lot of amenities including two bedroom suites, large bathrooms, full kitchens, and cozy sitting spaces. Each room has a balcony (that I've stayed in) and it's nice to sit out there. I've stayed her more than 5 times and each time is great. Friendly staff and they just redecorated their main lobby area. The little on site store is convenient too - although the Egg Harbor market is right down the street and there is a fridge in the room.

A fairly decent property. Rooms were clean and nice, however the fireplace didn't work the first night, we found metal shards in one of the beds, and don't waste time on the video games in the game room. They will eat your money and/or be non-functional. The pool was nice for the kids and the staff was pleasant.

Great resort! Staff was friendly and helpful and the suites were perfect. I love the balcony and the fireplace. The indoor hot tub and pool were also a plus.

The room was very clean and nicely decorated. We stayed at Newport for a convenient stay after a work function in Egg Harbor. It was close enough that we were able to walk to and from the resort to our function, which was a nice bonus! The staff was very friendly, and greeted us each time we came past the front desk. I would recommend this resort!

Let me just say Claudia and Delia made this visit AWESOME!! I felt so comfortable talking with them, and they really made the weekend. Our room was very big, and the amenities are very nice. However, one my favorite parts of the stay was how wonderful Del and Claudia at the front desk helped us, and handled us!! It was a large wedding party, I'm sure it got a little overwhelming! 😉I felt they shared in our joy!! Will miss them most!

The Newport Resort knows hospitality from beginning to end. Reservation was made with ease and direct connection to the Hotel. The front desk personal was friendly with a quick check-in and a note about some amenities . Our suite accommodations were lovely, spacious and meticulous. And it was quiet with great surroundings .

Our annual retreat every year with my side of the family. We gather with my brother’s and sister’s families and there are anywhere from 20 to 27 of us each year. We like that the rooms are suites and have kitchens, sitting areas and balconies. They continue to upgrade a little bit each year but could still use a few more major upgrades (AC in all rooms not just the common area of the suite) but overall they are great for the price point. We love Egg Harbor for the proximity to so many things in Door County without being in the middle of all the traffic and congestion so this really does serve well for us to be able to drive to Peninsula State Park in 15 minutes, Washington Island in 30 min (without the Ferry) so you can really do most everything even though you are in the southern part of the peninsula. The property itself has great amenities with indoor and outdoor pools, walking distance to a brewery, restaurants, and grocery. Plus they offer free bikes to utilize which is also an added bonus. Very happy with Newport Resort. If you are looking for upscale, this is not your place. But if you are looking for family-friendly, functional, spacious, convenient and affordable then this checks all the boxes. The staff are tremendously helpful and friendly and I can’t say enough good things about how pleasant they are when we ask questions of them at the front desk. Always willing to help.

Beautiful and very clean resort. Could use updates with the beds and pillows. Nice location and friendly staff The kitchen facilities were excellent. We enjoyed the pool, but the hot tub was pumping in cool water the first night. It was much better the second night. We had a great experience at this resort and will definitely return. We wish it was pet friendly, though.

Our family stayed at NR for the time of my mom's funeral. The layout was perfect for 4 families to share rooms. The staff was accommodating and helpful. The kids were entertained in the pool and playland while the adults had space to meet and plan. Great facility!

Stayed in a 2 BR premium suite with friends. Perfect for the four of us. We used the kitchen to eat some meals in and ate others out. Enjoyed the fireplace as the weather was a bit chilly. We also appreciated a place to keep our bikes. Great location from which to explore the peninsula.

LOVE the outdoor pool, though it was SUPER cold! The indoor pool made up for the temperature though. Very friendly and mostly- accommodating staff Booked a 3 night stay, though they did call afterward to inform me, we were only reserved for 2 nights in one room, then had to move for the final night. I asked if they would kindly transfer our luggage and such to the next room, however, that was not an option, only putting everything on a cart, making sure to check out by 11 from current room, then checking in to new room, at regular time of 3pm, picking up our stuff (including refrigerator stuff, given our several night stay) on our way. Quite annoying, and very surprised they wouldn’t accommodate that way

Newport Resort was the perfect place for our family. Each suite included two private bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a very nice kitchen/living room, and peaceful patio area. Newport's location was ideal. With two babes in strollers, we were able to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and stores. Venturing out required no more than 15 minute drive. Our family will definitely return for years to come!!

Wonderful experience at the Newport Resort. The suite was well equipped and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Well maintained grounds with indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, grills to use, store with items you might have forgotten. Great quiet location but close to shopping, restaurants and Hwy 42. Will stay there again.

Third time staying at Newport Resort. We choose this location for the indoor/outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor play areas for the kids, the good room sizes with private baths for each bedroom. Nice kitchenette, dining table, fireplace, patio/balcony. Furniture all in good condition, rooms very clean, friendly staff. Short walking distance to town for breakfast/lunch, sunsets at marina, restaurants with water views. They also have complimentary bicycles to ride around town. We noticed they have bike storage room if you bring your own bike. Free concerts at pavilion down the street during the summer months. Egg Harbor has a very nice beach that is not too crowded.

Came up for a girls wine weekend. This resort is super easy to get to, check in was smooth and quick. We had gotten one of the suites for our weekend stay. We each got our own bedroom/bathroom with a full kitchen and common living area. It was perfect for us since we weren't aware that a lot of places close early in the off season when we came up. The hotel itself has a convenience area where you can grab quick food beer/wine if you wish. We never checked out the pool, but there was a lot of families with children always there around dinner time til close. Clean and definitively felt safe. This hotel is closest to Harbor Ridge Winery. Would 10/10 recommend.

Great location within walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping, & scenic views! Nice suites with kitchens. Beds were pretty comfortable. Nice view with fireplace in living room. Fairly clean. Could use a bit of deep cleaning and updating, but still very nice. Struggling with cleaning help like everyone else we were told. Jetted tubs are a bit short / small but deep. Still a nice bonus. No breakfast provided. Grills outside for use. Worth the stay.

  • 5/5 Mindy R. 1 year ago on Google
Extremely clean! Perfect for families and groups of people as you have private bedrooms with bathrooms separated by a small kitchenette and living room space. The amenities were great! The indoor pool was warm and large and they had a generous sized hot tub and sauna. Our second floor stay was quiet. Would stay here again!

Great location - you can walk to a nice library and a grocery store that is open year-round. Love eating on the balcony overlooking the cherry orchard. Serene and beautiful. Quick drive to many shops and restaurants. Always in tip-top condition. Very comfortable unit is like a nice apartment. Well-appointed kitchen. The staff is so helpful and competent and makes holidays fun!
