Good local park, clean and friendly place to go hang out walk the dog or chill at a bench and read. A number of base ball / softball diamonds, area's large enough for group gatherings, tennis & basket ball courts means you're likely to find room for you game on most days with no conflict for space. The lay out is a bit strange, and a few spots will hold water in the grass after it rains in pools but otherwise a really good park to visit.

Lovely for a small, local CHRISTmas light show. We come every year.

Always love Ellis. But the placement of the new water treatment plant at the north end is atrocious. We have too small of a park to give up that much room to an absolute eyesore. Especially when our park could serve the recreational needs of the teens or other people in the community with that space. Regardless, I walk here with my son and dogs all the time.

Stop in here and there to play some guitar in a new place. Well, it's new once again bc kts been about 10 years since i would frequent this spot. The old Amphitheater has been replaced with a nice permanent structure. I have not played in the new structure yet. The old one was fun as I'm sure this one is too! same ground different lid basically. There is an owl that tends to follow me around down there. I would love to think that's the same one from 10 years ago because it sure acts like it..(it's like it remembers me and my songs) when I find my old phone that has pictures of him or her on it I will add them and if I see again in the near future, ill do the same. Visit Danville Ellis Park. Remember," whatever you pack in, you pack out"

Love this park. It is set up with children's safety in mind, being completely fenced in allowing only one entry/exit area so parents can easily watch who goes in and out of the play area. Many picnic benches and plenty of shade!

I am 63, retired nurse, I am black. Myself,my husband and our 10 year old granddaughter drove from the speedway area to see the Christmas lights in the park, as recommended by her teacher. The lights were wonderful and the attendants were very friendly. We even drove through several times. Within a few blocks of exiting the park, I noticed a police car behind us. Absolutely everything about us and our vehicle is in order. I even have a nurse license plate. Even though we did nothing wrong, we noted that the police car followed us almost to Avon. When I changed lanes, so did he. This was nerve-wracking and made me very uncomfortable even though I did nothing wrong. This has weighed on my mind for 2weeks now. While we planned to revisit the lights, I don't want to experience this again. For that reason, we will never be comfortable going back and would share our experience when we can to prevent others who especially look like us what happened. For the nay sayers ( you know who you are) . When I worked on county road 525, at the long term facility, staff that looked like me also had very similar experiences driving to our jobs. This is the definition of racial profiling at it's best.

Enjoyed the winter wonderland and it is well worth it. You can go around as many times as you like. There is a radio station you can tune into and the large tree goes along with the music. They do have Santa at some times too. This is a family tradition to go experience the lights. Beyond this event, Ellis park has a great playscape and another one hidden back beyond the bridge. There are paved walking paths and dirt trails that are fun to explore. There are basketball courts and an aquatic center. I’ve been going to Ellis park since I was a child and not I talk my daughter there.

We held a party at Shelter House 1. It would be good to have a handrail on the bridge that is consistent & not cable. Also, restrooms on the other side of the bridge would be helpful.

Great pickleball courts. Nice walking trail. The community seems to make good use of the kids football field, baseball diamond, and pool.

The walking trail was very nice, there is so much to do at this park including a huge playground, and pickle ball courts. There are a couple of bridges to cross, one takes you to a large pavilion and small playground. They have lots of picnic tables throughout. I noticed a very popular water park that looked very nice. And the best part, the bathrooms were huge and so clean!!

This playground is great for parents of multiple because it is fully fenced in this allowing for a little freedom for kids to play without concern they'll run off into the woods or the street.

Elis Park is a perfect place for family fun there is a pool with water slides and a lazy river, walking trails, tennis and basketball courts with a community center as well. If that wasn't enough it also has an accessible creek that runs through it.

This has been a great park for more than 50 years. Have seen some very nice improvements in the last 10 or 15 years. The pickleball courts are excellent as are the buildings and Facilities

Really fun park. Great place for children. My kids love it here and best part is all the shade.

Took grandkids to see the lights and Santa. It was very nice. It was the appetizer for a 2 light show evening with the grandchildren spending the night with grandma and grandpa.

Would love to see more care put into this park, because it's already such a nice place. It's a wonderful playground and I loved it growing up.

After seeing the light display last year, we came to the park. The girls loved it. Great climbing trails, a awesome bridge, perfect creek and a awesome playground. With tennis courts, basketball courts as well. This place has it all. Will be here again once the water is warm.

We took our 2 year old daughter to play at this park. She had a wonderful time. She was all smiles! I love the fact the entire park is made of wood. The little secret walk thru is fun for the little ones. We will definitely be back!
