For a place like Ngala was expecting so much more especially with service quality. I had recommended the place to friends for dinner and he was asked numerous times if he could afford his order which was absolutely unexpected and profiling. For the price I paid for the steak I was expecting so much more in the taste but it didn't meet my expectations unfortunately. The place is absolutely beautiful, the stunning seaview and fresh breeze. The gardens and private space are amazing as well. I just hope my experience can be restored on my next visit.

Wonderful hotel with great staff! We stayed here for a week during the raining season (September) so the hotel was almost deserted. A big privilege because we had the pool for ourselves and the staff did everything to make us comfortable. Only downside was the service button at the pool didn't work so we draw the attention or walk up to the restaurant in order to get service at the infinity pool (first world problems right). The room (14B) was huge, with a great garden, pool and seaview. One minor miss in the room is the airconditioning that is only available in de bedroom, so the living room is extremely hot. The WiFi is pretty good and stable in the room and on the balcony, but not if you are at the infinity pool. We didn't used the second pool next to the restaurant because it didn't look clean and actually smelled, but I guess this pool wasn't used at the moment because of the low season. The restaurant has a nice menu but the prices are quite steep, but still acceptable. The only negative thing I can say is the lack of diversity during breakfast. Yes they make great eggs on demand or you can choose for fresh baked pancakes but other then that, there's only some cheese, one or two pastries, some fresh cut fruits, yogurt and serials that tasted old. It's definitely not a full continental breakfast, so hopefully in the future they have more breakfast options to choose from. Overal a great place to stay in a quiet area without being flooded by other tourists.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful service from all the staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in one of the Atlantic suites on the first floor, looking out to sea. The suite was huge. Balcony with the Jacuzzi was perfect. Made a lot of friends in the hotel. We would definitely recommend Ngala Lodge.

An absolutely amazing hotel by any standards, not just in comparison to the somewhat meager offerings nearby. The staff is professional yet kind and welcoming, the restaurant amazing, the grounds well kept, the views breathtaking with the rooms huge, well maintained and nicely furnished. Choosing to stay anywhere but here when in the Banjul area would be a bad decision. Prices are not the lowest but also not overpriced, good value overall.

This review refers to the restaurant at Ngala Lodge. Though the food is quite tasty and the view from the restaurant floor is nice, expect to get charged a 15% 'service fee' on top of what are already expensive prices for food in the Gambia. The staff will also try and add another 4.5% 'credit card fee' if you don't have cash. If you want to take photos by the ocean you will also not be allowed to do this if you are not a hotel guest. It is for these reasons that I would not recommend this dishonest restaurant.

AMAZING PLACE! have been fortunate to be directed here. the owners are wonderful people ❀️ the staff is wonderful. the grounds are not amazing and interesting! the rooms are unique, each with their own theme and style. wish i could stay a month and experience all of it! fall asleep and wake to the sounds of the ocean, palm trees and birds. the restaurant is awesome. vegetarian options ❀️ keep your eyes open all the time, there are tonnes of things to see everywhere! many of the loyal helpers have been here for decades. keep your ears open for stories and lore. nice quiet road outside of the city, and many other accoutrements you can check out on the website! 😎

What a beautiful place to have a dinner! I did not stay for the night at the hotel due to staying somewhere else. The food was good, the service was supreme, the view was unbeatable!

Fabulous place to stay for business or to relax and enjoy unwinding. Generous sized air-conditioned rooms, only a few moments walk to the sea front and the grounds gardens and infinity pool. Restaurant is well recommended being one of the best in area.

One of the best views of the beautiful coast of The Gambia. Great customer service and food is great but a bit pricey compared to other comparable options in the area.

Only went here for dinner and the food was delicious although pricy. The view of the ocean makes this the perfect spot to eat and watch the sun set.

The review is for the the restaurant. The food is really expensive for what you get and to be honest in Gambia usually you would get fairly good for at most places for much cheaper prices. Also they have 15% more charge to what they are already charging. Staff were friendly but seemed very in rush. I personally believe the food is not as great as they think they serve, specially for the price. I would NOT recommend it.

Great hotel, great service. Nice place to have peace and enjoy in sound of waves. Food is also nice, a little bit more expensive than restaurants in Senegambia. Nice people is what makes this hotel so beautiful. You will enjoy 100%

A great place for meals in Banjul with picturesque ambience that overlooks the ocean. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Making a reservation may be a nice idea as lodging guests tend to dine in house as much. Downside, only one PoS machine available for payments, though if your card fails as mine did, they were kind enough to drive me to the ATM to withdraw cash.

Ngala Lodge is home away from home, beautiful, serene, superbly landscaped, and green. For your holidays, honeymoon or private getaways for a time of reflection, Ngala Lodge comes highly recommended. The accommodation facilities are world-class. Make sure you have a glass or more of the baobab juice - it is heavenly.

We were very satisfied with the food, our room, and the friendliness of the staff. This is an adult only Lodge, so no children running around or no noise from children.

My partner and I had a really good 7 night stay at Ngala Lodge in January 2023. A beautiful, coastal hotel set atop the cliffs with a wonderful sea breeze and the sound of the surf as you eat your breakfast. It's completely protected from the hassle of any of the locals, and the staff really do go above and beyond with their levels of service. The suites are spacious and kept very clean. We were particularly impressed with the (new) General Manager, who remembered our names from the start, and the friendly owner Peter. Reps from The Gambia Experience were regularly available at the hotel for queries and excursion bookings. The main downside for us concerned money withdrawal. The hotel advertises a 3.45% charge for credit card usage, however it actually turned out to be more like 10% (D500 is charged for withdrawals up to D5000, and D1000 is charged over that). The exchange rate offered by the hotel was also very poor. The local ATMs were not working which left us with no alternative. We were also a bit disappointed with the quality and extent of the overnight breakfast that we ordered before an early excursion, but I suppose the small plates of fruit and sliced baguette that we received were better than nothing! Overall, a lovely stay in a pleasant environment.

Exceptional view from the beach restaurant. Very friendly staff. The food was very good and reasonably priced. They could use new decor. Anyways, I’d recommend it.
