Went in because I’m a high risk and I was having pain and pressure. This was my first experience here and I honestly can’t say this is where I’m giving birth. I was there for 4 to 5 hours. The only time I had hands on me was when they put the monitor on me and when the ultrasound tech (she was THE HIGHLIGHT of my visit, I appreciate her for making me comfortable. Her name was Tara I believe) thoroughly checked my baby and provided me more reassurance than anyone else in the whole facility. Back to the unsatisfactory part of my visit. After waking up from a nap, I realized I was there for about two hours and not one person came to check on me even though the baby monitor wasnt even working anymore. THEY WERENT EVEN TRACKING MY BABYS HEARTBEAT!!!!! I was not seen by a doctor or even a RN at the least before I was discharged. I got no information about what was going on with me other than “you’re fine, if it gets worse come back”. FOR WHAT?! just to sit there and get no answers again! Once again, I’m a high risk so the least I expected was to be talked to by a doctor to ease my nerves and actually get a check up. It wasn’t busy and I seen several doctors standing around talking. This L&D facility is just as bad as their main hospital .

Our experience at this location was absolutely amazing. I came in and knew that I was about to give birth. I am so thankful that the intake nurse believed me and rushed me back to triage because I had literally minutes before baby was crowning. The staff immediately surrounded me and gave me all the direction I needed to safely push baby out. As soon as the baby was out he was put on my chest and we were brought back to an actual delivery room to deliver the placenta. Everyone that we interacted with was extremely caring and understanding. We felt like a priority at every stage. The nurses on the recovery floor were all full of knowledge and ready to share any information I needed. The food was delicious and they were always checking to make sure that I didn't want or need anything. Our family is extremely grateful for the cheering disposition and positive spirit especially around the holidays as I know most would rather be home with their own family. We are sending a huge thank you to all the staff at this pavilion you all really made adding a new addition to the family a beautiful experience.

Thank you to Jennifer, Heather, Brenda, Miranda, Alejandra, Thea, Cathy, Cece, Erika, Alexis, Stacy and everyone else who helped me during my stay! Everything that happened was the exact opposite of what I wanted/planned, but I am so thankful for all of you who made this as good of an experience as it could have possibly been under the circumstances.

I had the best nurses and a great doctor , Dr. Mike Hakakha and the nurses that helped him deliver my son were so nice and understanding . Dr. Hakakha made sure to include my husband in the delivery and asked him if he wanted to cut the cord . The nurses who took care of me and my son postpartum were really sweet and attentive , Nurse Vanessa and Nurse Angel had the best attitudes and when I had concerns they made sure to answer my questions . I also had a bit of hemorrhaging after delivery and Vanessa would come in to clean me and change my sheets every hour I’m so grateful for her . Thank you Antelope Valley WIP for taking great care of us .

Had a great time there until we had to deal with the charge nurse Diane . Horrible attitude and threw other nurses under the bus because one of her nurses wasn’t preforming up to par with the day time shift nurses . But they have some GREAT day time nurses yaddy barb and Tara are some of the best care we’ve ever received. Other than the horrible experience with DIANE THE CHARGE NURSE it was a great experience doctor huchkacha was a great doctor.

I’m a first time mom and I had the most amazing experience here. My labor and delivery were both difficult, but the team of nurses who helped me through the process made me feel so supported. They gave me so much useful information and answered every question my husband asked. My amazing team of nurses included Mary, Mimi, Patricia, Betty, Christina, Jeanne, Kim, Jada, Grace, and Liz. I couldn’t have done it without these wonderful women. I would also like to mention Dr. Jones did an amazing job delivering my baby. The team who took care of my baby after delivery were so wonderful and reassured me that she would be okay. I’m so grateful to have delivered here!

my son just had his baby and the mistreatment they have experienced in this hospital from day one is insane, from the delivery doctor being rough and rude to nurses profiling the young parents and being rude for no reason, threatened to call child services no wait they called child services because none of the nurses are on the same page giving the mother wrong information that she was able to leave and so was the baby as long as she got him the right medicine then another saying no and calling cps.

I unfortunately did not have a good labor experience at Antelope Valley Women & infants Pavilion. I was induced at 41 weeks pregnant. All was going well until our little one was having heart rate decelerations (labor complications happen this is not why I was disappointed). When the rushed me back for an emergency C- Section one of the nurses told my husband he needed to bring all of our belongings back to the car and then join us for the C- Section. (It was 2 trips worth of stuff he would have missed the birth). When he began to gather our items another nurses snapped at him asking what he was doing and said they would move the items. Way to scare a soon to be father when his wife is about to go back for surgery. I was then rushed to deliver our baby which went well even though every minute they were asking where the crash cart was (which thankfully they ended up not needing). After we were recorded to the postpartum room we had an older nurse with short blonde hair who made our experience horrible. I had been awake of 24 hours at this point and hooked up to a monitor that beeped every time my heart rate dropped so I could not sleep. My heart rate is naturally low I tried to explain but she refuses to turn of the sound or anything so I did not sleep. She left monitors I’m assuming taped to my foot and leg not connected to anything at all. I felt it was sloppy work. On top of that there was not much support with the lactation consultants. I was having difficulty latching and on top of that was uneducated about how long to let baby feed etc. I was also given a nipple shield rite off the bat even though I managed to get baby to latch one time without it. This definitely negatively effected my breast feeding journey as you know newborns feed constantly so I would need to constantly get up in terrible pain from the C- Section to wash the nipple shield. Every time I would call for assistance it would be hours later or they never came at all. As a result I am now exclusively pumping which I did not want.

I had three children at this hospital and I had poor service every single time. The nurses are mean and they will literally have no patients and still make you wait HOURS before you are even seen. I liked Palmdale labor and delivery way better because they move quick and actually listens to you and your medical needs !!

The labor & delivery unit is terrible. My wife had an appointment for an induction at 41 weeks. The day comes for the induction and they tell us that they have 5 people ahead of us that are currently under active labor so they didn’t have any rooms for her to do an induction m. Come to find out they don’t even have a special unit designated to do inductions. They told her she would have to wait until 42 WEEKS for them to be able to assist her. First they told us 41 weeks. If they would of told us that they didn’t have a special unit for inductions we would have gone elsewhere weeks before. I don’t recommend this place for women who go over their due dates as my wife’s previous labor was induced and they knew this. Yet they made false promises and blamed our physician. Please don’t go here if you are wanting an induction they will push you to the bottom of their list.

Had a baby at the WIP Oct 2023. Get the hospital tour while you are pregnant if able. It was very helpful (and you can win a newborn photo shoot)! We arrived in the middle of the night and had baby 40 mins later. Waiting in the lobby and doing the admin paperwork to be admitted was definitely horrible while going through contractions, but when I told them I was going to start pushing in triage they moved to quickly get me into a delivery room. CNM Curtis was our angel midwife! She supported me through a natural delivery and her calm professional attitude put everyone at ease. Despite the lack of time to communicate a birth plan, every request was honored, and CNM Curtis provided clear explanations, even amidst the chaos of a rapid delivery. The care in couplets was excellent, the room was clean, and the hospital food exceeded expectations. Lactation consultants were on standby to help at all times. Lots of people checked in with us and made sure we were doing ok. We faced an unexpected delay in discharge due to the need for phototherapy, which wasn’t anticipated. Earlier communication about bilirubin levels would have been appreciated, but fortunately, the flexibility of our dog and child sitters mitigated the inconvenience. I still would recommend the WIP to anyone expecting! It’s nothing like the ER and so much closer than the hospitals in Santa Clarita. I was impressed with the baby friendly protocols and the care we received.
