If
you're
a
nightclub
in
New
York,
London,
or
Moscow,
you
can
discriminate
against
single
men
and
charge
high
covers.
That
said,
this
is
Baku.
I
arrived
to
Pasifico
at
3:00
A.M.
on
a
Saturday
morning
hoping
to
have
at
least
a
couple
of
drinks
in
a
nice
atmosphere.
I
had
come
the
previous
night
and
had
a
drink
but
it
was
too
quiet
so
I
left.
I
arrived
in
my
best
suit
from
New
York,
polished
shoes,
white
shirt,
clean-shaven.
I
was
denied
entry
on
account
of
having
no
female
company
and
asked
to
pay
200
AZN
for
a
table.
This
is
absurd.
I
find
it
idiotic
to
pay
so
much
for
a
table
in
a
city
like
Baku.
I
would
have
gladly
run
up
a
50
USD
tab
at
the
bar
but
a
200
AZN
cover
is
moronic.
I
can
countenance
being
denied
entry
into
a
nightclub
in
New
York
or
Moscow
but
being
turned
down
at
3:00
A.M.
in
Baku
is
humiliating.
Anyways,
don't
say
you
weren't
warned.
Unless
you
feel
like
paying,
or
are
accompanied
by
women
or
are
a
real
celebrity,
don't
expect
to
get
in
on
a
Friday
or
Saturday
night
as
a
man.
