So I had one hell of an experience here, as a tourist I went to this cool bar every night, the second night they overcharged me around 30Manat ($18), I asked why is that and they showed me that I had 6 beers but I only had 4! (I assume they thought I must be drunk) then again, they fixed the bill, brought it back with still 20Manat overcharged! I asked to see a menu, they somewhat refused to even show me the MENU!! because the prices where different on the bill! So I checked the menu eventually and the beer price was 8Manat, they charged me 10! oh btw they added a random %10 service fee (Which it didn't have the night before)! meanwhile talking to the manager, they all of a sudden remembered they increased the prices but haven't got the time to update the menu :)

One my favorite so far, for sure I will visit every-time I come to Baku. I came with friends for couple drinks and eventually stayed till 2:30 ( the bar close at 2:00 but the staff are willing to stay with you if you are having fun). The staff are very nice and generous, the atmosphere is friendly we had lots of fun although there were no live music when we came! Also the food is very delicious!

The place reeks of cigarette smoke and can get pretty crowded on a Friday night. You pay for your drinks as you get them instead of a bill for the total, a casual place to go I suppose. Live music definitely helps elevate the atmosphere of the pub to a 4 but any other day it's just a 3 star.

I have visited Finnegans several times over my 8 years in Baku. I can remember the former location and how energetic the bar was... it was a true center for expats in Baku. Since the move (2008?) the pub just has never really gained back its notoriety. I have never managed to stay longer than 2 beers as I have found it to simply be boring and lacking of any positive vibes. Getting a drink can make one feel as if you have resorted to beggary... the service with a smile concept has not permeated the staff. The food is acceptable as pub fare, but there is better in nearby locations (see my other reviews). I wanted to give 2 stars but opted for 3 as Finnegans is not a bad bar... it just does not do anything for me. There must be some people that do like it... particularly I have heard people suggest Finnegans is kept in business by the live bands on the weekends. Drink prices are normal. Working girls presence is minimal and not noticed. So, the bottom line is that if you enjoy a live band with your drinks then Finnegans may be a good fit on the weekends.
