The funicular tram was closed, for lunch I guess and expected to reopen by 14:00. I took it as a sign from God and started the somewhat long journey up the stairs. Not really far up but every time you think you're almost there there's another long set of stairs. The sun is unforgiving during the summer but once you reach the street level there's a place you can buy cold water or ice cream etc another set of long stairs before you get to the observation deck and the restaurant. Amazing sweeping views of Baku and the bay and on the opposite side the flame towers. I was going to walk to the memorial further on but was stopped by army guys. The place was closed for I'm assuming a dignitary visit of some sort. Someone communicated to me that it would reopen at 18:00or 19:00. I'll wait a day and I'll take the funicular up this time at night.

This is lovely park and the best thing is they have children play area. So you can relax while they are having fun. We were here as tourists and were looking for something for kids to met our lillte one have some his time. This park is perfect. The location is awesome and the views are amazing. The walk on promenade is beautiful. There is a mall at the end of the promenade so you have loads of food options too. Overall a good place to hang out.

One of my favorite parks because it is seaside, and plenty of green spaces, cafes, and restaurants to choose from. I'm not too fond of the scooters though!
