What an amazing and mesmerising place to visit. It’s highly recommended to plan almost a day for walking exploration. You get to see the perfect combination of history and modernisation over there. You will see high rise buildings in background from standing in any streets. Every corner and building will teach you something about history. The best time thing is the warm welcoming people you will see. A must visit place!

If you're a lover of history and the old spirit of the cities this is a very good place to take a long walk. I remember wandering there for about 5 hours before sitting in a coffee to keep admiring the view of the old city walls. I recommend visiting this place by day and also by night, since it looks very different and very unique at night too. And less crowded of course. It's better to have a local guide, if you're interested in the history, it's very useful. There are stalls to buy local and historical items. They accept only cash no debit/credit cards payment. Public toilets available. Parking available.

This is an excellent place to visit on foot. There are a lot of interesting places to visit and a number of monuments from the 12 th century onwards. The pathways are laid of stone and the people are super friendly. There a lot of shops for souvenirs and many cafes serving delicious food. You can also find a lot of tour operators who can arrange affordable tours here.

The old town is a lovely place to get lost in. Enjoy the cobblestone paths, the homes, uneven stairs, sweet stray cats and the cute murals on some structures. There are some attractions in the old town like the palace, Maiden Tower and Miniature Book Museum that one explore especially if it's your first visit to Baku. There are too many guides here who might annoy you selling their services so try to keep them at bay politely. However, beware that google maps may actually confuse you or not work at all, and you might get lost in the alleys. This is frustrating on a hot day. Also, it is best to visit old town during the day and avoid going after dark keeping in mind that one can easily get lost here.

This is the name for Old Town Baku. It’s an absolutely magical and magnificent place for tourists and locals alike. We came here every single nights and during the day when we stayed in Baku because it’s beautiful for pictures during the day and lively at night. Not inherently a tourist trap, but it’s naturally a little more expensive than places outside of the Old Town. I would not recommend this if you have trouble walking or if you are in a wheelchair, unfortunately.

Commonly known as Old Baku, is an ancient city with many old buildings. It's built in a way that you can walk around the whole area and explore it by yourself, or with a tour guide. On the topic of tour guides, you will be bombarded with tourist agencies and their representatives, explaining to you their services. So be prepared for that. Icherisheher also contains many traditional shops and various restaurants as well. Moreover, it also has the famous Library of Miniature Books, which has some of the world's most famous books in mini version. So you can spend the whole day exploring Old Baku and by the end of the day have a nice meal in any close-by restaurant.

Must visit the place when you visit Baku. It is an ancient part of the city, and real age has not been known so far. You can spend at least half of your day just walking through old streets and exploring the architecture palace. Also, there are small, cosy parks where you can rest. Beyond this, you can taste delicious local cuisine in restaurants located in the old city and buy some souvenirs

Most beautiful astonishing and amazing place to visit. Streets reflecting old eras arts and cultures. 24 hours restaurants and tea shops. Parking is challenging so i will recommend taxi (use Bolt its cheap and quick). You can buy Souvenir on reasonable price. Lot of local Tour guids available inside the old city (by feet n by car) must visit Castle inside. Dont bring too much stuff in bag pack as it lot of walk. Lot of good traditional restaurants inside and outside so no worry about food. Strongly recommend for tourists

If you're visiting Baku, you must visit Old Town, historical streets and buildings, very small alleyways and a lot of stores around, not all of them provide payment by card, so you might wanna have some cash. Walking through this place is like travelling back in time, it is very safe with policemen all around. You won't regret it.

Old City ... I thought it might be something like Sanaa but the place is perfectly manicured and maintained. You can't really tell the buildings are that old because every single corner is restored to absolute perfectness. But it's still a lovely place to wonder around. The quality of souvenirs I found rather high, no Chinese made things, which was great. There are tour operators that show you great pictures of places but the ones I picked were rather mediocre in real life so you might want to find out ahead of time what you want to see. I always wanted to see it and although it wasn't anything like I imagined, I still recommend seeing it.

This is a beautiful historical core of Baku. It is like a walled city. Palace of shirvanshahs , maiden Tower, beautiful gardens, quaint cafes , qiz qualasi etc. Great place to walk around and soak in the culture and heritage. Great visit here, interesting sights. Lovely souvenir shops and places to eat. Locals were very helpful and pleasant. Well worth a visit. Recommend visiting the surrounding parks are really beautiful.

The Baku old city was a great place to wander through. There are narrow alleyways that almost always come out at the old city walls or through to pleasant parks with quiet cafes. Notwithstanding the fact that it is high summer, the tourist numbers are small so that it is pleasant to wander. The young people touting tours are not in your face as is common elsewhere, but respect your answer with a cheerful "have a nice day" and let you go. There were places where the facade had slipped a bit, missing cobbles and rough pavements or reproduction canons and catapults that were falling into disrepair. But these were insignificant compared to the positive vibe.

A good old place in Baku where you can walk around, see many gifts shops to buy souvenirs and have a short walk to reach to Nizami street. There is also good rated hotel inside this city which you may consider an option to stay and enjoy nearby attractions.

The old city is beautiful and has a lot of restaurant and cafe options. The cobblestone streets and the buildings remind you of a medieval fort. Not ideal for people with strollers though and you have to be a bit careful as some people drive very fast in the narrow streets. Great place to get souvenirs as well but make sure you haggle on the price. Overall a must visit for anyone going to Baku.

An old city, maintaining as it is. Many historical backgrounds behind this wonderful place. Surrounded by a big wall with two main gates. And a few populated areas inside this prominade. It is called Icheri Sheher (Old city) which is situated in the center part of Baku. We can walk around the streets by watching many historical structures like Maiden Tower, many cafes and restaurants, gardens, souvenir shops, the palace of shirvansha and many others. Would be a great experience and highly recommend to walk through this ancient street.

is the historical core of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The Old City is the most ancient part of Baku, which is surrounded by walls which were easily defended. In 2007, the Old City had a population of about 3000 people. In December 2000, the Old City of Baku, including the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower, became the first location in Azerbaijan to be classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Icherisheher is historical core of Baku. It is the most ancient part of Baku. The Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower (belongs to 12th of century) is popular places which you should visit. If you visit Baku you should definitely come to Icherisheher

Beautiful old town ! Walk n see the city ! Every place has its own story and people are really welcoming and good. Have great hotels( budgeted, luxury, vintage). every corner of this old city amuses you. You will find tour guides & agents from tour companies everywhere. This old city has boutique shops, cafes and bakeries which is very old. When you walk towards the end of the town, you will reach the Icherishehr Metro station. one of the busiest metro station.

What an amazing walk through the old city of Baku. The little and narrow streets, the unique restaurants and taverns and the wonderful people, makes this a highlight of every trip. I would recommend walking here twice during a visit - once in the morning and once in the evening. Two completely different experiences.

Amazing views and ambience. Must visit around sunset for beautiful light and show of the Flame Twin Towers as well as the Burj Khalifa lookalike tower besides it. Also the amazing sunset amongst the ocean creating a contrast between land and sea with a multitude of pastel colours reflecting off of metal building surfaces and the clean and bright ocean. Must visit for the best photos and experience of a lifetime.

Icherisheher is a historical gem, and Google Maps has been an invaluable tool for exploring this beautiful location. The detailed maps and directions helped me navigate the narrow streets and discover hidden gems within the old city walls. I especially appreciated the user-generated photos and reviews that provided insights into local attractions and dining options. Overall, Google Maps made my visit to Icherisheher a smooth and memorable experience.
