Now if your a fan of Persian carpets you will love this place. I came more for the architecture than anything. As you can see from the pictures the building is made to look like a rolled up carpet. As you can Magine the inside has quite a few Persian carpets with their significance described below. It’s interesting but if you don’t have a lot of time I will drive by not go in. But like I said if you like Persian carpets this would be five stars for you.

Interesting architecture resembling a rolled up carpet; an analogy to its exhibits. Unfortunately, the museum was not opened at the time of the visit

Great place. The architecture is fabulous, and the inside exhibitions are pretty. You can see the carpeting process live, with few carpet machines here and there and women working on them. The best floor was the last with some modern and Islamic art.

You can easily skip visiting this museum because the most beautiful part is outside and it is the exterior. Especially skip it if you are going to visit the Heydar Aliyev center, because there you can see a lot of carpets too. Staff could be a bit more welcoming to the tourists.

Really good exhibits. I think as a westerner it is easy to underestimate how important this might be to the Azeri folk but the exhibits here help put it in context. Also the carpets are stunning. A good way to spend 2 hours if you have the time.

To be honest I didn’t expected much but was amazed by the amount of carpets displayed and how organized the museum is. If you’ve much time in Baku and have nothing to do when it’s hot outside come here and enjoy the history.

The museum is unique with antique carpet collection. If you want to visit then try it in the evening so that you can roam the entire street as you have a park and mall nearby. The entry fee is 10manat per person. Inside you have restaurant and a souvenir shop. Museum is open until 7pm but try to go 1-2 hours earlier so that you won’t miss anything.

Wonderful place to learn about the history of carpet making in Azerbaijan. All exhibits have explanations in English. The entry fee is reasonable. There are also lockers to store your bags so you don't have to carry them throughout the museum. Highly recommend for visitors to Baku.

I’m not sure what I expected going into a carpet museum but I was a bit underwhelmed. Yes, you get to see some stunning pieces. But that’s it. If you’re into that sort of thing then great. Personally, I believe you get a much better experience and view from the outside rather than the inside.

Amazing museum with big carpets collections , its cost 7 ma for one adult , museum is 3 floors , I think you should visit if you are at baku , at the first floor there are shop selling carpets but it's super expensive . Walking slowly look to the carpets on the walls and observe small details and you will fall in love with this museum.

I didn’t realize this country existed and when I looked it up online I expected to find a Harry Potter reference. I was wrong and happy! (Not something that happens often) Then I found this place. I love carpet! I really love carpet! I have an addiction to carpet! Finally I was home at the (drumroll) carpet museum! They had so many carpets. All of them beautifully weaved through blood sweat and tears. I am in love. I am home. I was also taught how to weave my own carpet. I didn’t even know I could do that! I attached a picture of my favorite carpet. So cool!

The museum was good. It had the history of making carpets in Azerbaijan and the history of the carpet owners, also who used to craft them in details. There is a decent shop i didn’t find anything interesting but it had many things people can buy from. All in all it was a good experience , were you have to visit it only once.

Nice place to visit. I liked the carpets put on display. I was hoping to see more olden ones but mostly there were 19th or 20th century except for may be two carpets which were more historic. However I think the staff can be a bit friendly as they seemed stressed.

(Translated by Google) The Carpet Museum in Azerbaijan - It is the first museum to cheer the art of carpets in the world, and it is among the most prominent museums that include the largest collection of carpets in the world and includes some of the valuable and rare carpets indeed. The museum was established in 1967, and it was named the Carpet Museum by order of the state, which decided to design it to suit its shape. The museum was known by this name from the date of its establishment until 1993. Before the word "Azerbaijani" was added to it to denote the location of the museum, after the appearance of other keys with the same content, form and idea. Latif Karimov is the author of the idea of adding the word definition, and he was known by this name at that time and remained until 2014 before he underwent radical reforms and several restorations, but it was decided to preserve the same name. This museum was largely devoted to the plight of carpets during its creation of the carpet with the aim of selling it or using it or anything else, and the museum had a great popularity at that time, which led to the emergence of other museums interested in the scientist, painter, teacher and so on. The first exhibition that the museum hosted was held on April 26, 1972, and at that time the museum banned large numbers of people to see all the exhibits. The Carpet Museum was merged with the Central Museum in 1992, and then a new building for the museum was established in 2014. The honor During the fifty years that the museum has lived, many presidents and dignitaries have been honored in the country from various fields: Honored artist Aziz Aliyev in 1967. Honoring the cultural worker Roya Tajiyeva in 1982. Honoring the art critic Sherine Malikov in 2016. Small but very nice and informative museum. If you are interested in the impact of carpets and it's significance to the region this is a must visit. Very centrally located as well. Here again we found the staff to be extremely unfriendly which seems to be a museum thing in Baku. They walk around like prison guards just glaring at people and giving curt replies. The souvenirs shop at the museum is way over priced. Just walk across the road to the Old City and you are much more likely to get better deals on the carpets and silk scarves. Overall a nice place to spend an hour or few depending on your interest in the subject.

Honestly the carpet exhibit at the Heydar cultural center seemed more impressive to me with their amazing but newer carpets and custom designs. Here we start by seeing a ticket person who clearly doesn't want to be there. Their credit card machine will not read foreign visa cards so cash only. Two story building smartly designed in a style of a carpet. Carpets displayed range from the 17th century until 20th. Juxtapositioned along the walls there are English descriptions as well along with some historical artifacts. I spent less than an hour. Go see the 10 or so custom mind boggling carpets at the Heydar cultural center if you have the time to visit only one exhibit.

I was looking for an air conditioned midday break, didn’t expect to like this museum so much! I expected row after row of carpets, but the explanations and other textiles made it enjoyable. I appreciated the videos as well. I liked the use of escalators, the lighting was good. Only suggestion I have is to make Toilet more obvious (I think only one on main level) and better cafe.
