(Translated by Google) The entrance ticket to the museum's exposition costs 5 manat for the country's citizens. The first Wednesday of each month is declared a free admission day at the museum. Photography in the museum's exposition is also paid. On the first floor of the museum there are Stone Age, Bronze and Early Iron Ages, ancient and medieval, Azerbaijani science, culture, etc. You can get interesting information about. Nothing special. I recommend taking the time to visit other museums, such as the Haydar Aliyev Center or the Literacy Museum, if your time is limited. The building’s inside is, of course, pleasant.

We believed the website hours 10AM-6PM Tue-Sun. Walked all the way there at 11AM Tuesday June 25 and found....it is closed for renovations until Sept 2019!! You would think that a major tourist attraction like this would take the time to update their website with such important information. If I could give ZERO STARS for this I would, but 1 star is the minimum. VERY UNSATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE for a major tourist attraction .

We paid full price for entry, but weren't told that most of the museum was closed. so we saw one tiny bit about one particular man. We came to learn about the whole country and were very disappointed.

(Translated by Google) This building, where the Museum of History of Azerbaijan is located, was the residence of the famous philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev. The building was built on the project of IV Goslavsky, the chief architect of Baku. Various architectural styles were used during the construction of the building. Thus, the symmetrical main facade is in the luxurious forms of the Italian Renaissance, the cleaning room is French Rococo, the dining room is Flemish Baroque, and the bedroom is modern. (Original) Azərbaycan Tarixi Muzeyinin yerləşdiyi bu bina məşhur xeyriyyəçi Hacı Zeynalabdin Tağıyevin yaşayış evi olub. Bina Bakı şəhərinin baş memarı olmuş İ.V.Qoslavskinin layihəsi əsasında inşa edilib. Binanın tikintisi zamanı müxtəlif memarlıq üslublarından istifadə olunmuşdu. Belə ki, simmetrik baş fasad italyan intibahının təmtəraqlı formalarında, təmizlik otağı fransız rokokosu, yemək otağı flamand barokkosu, yataq otağı isə modern üslubundadır

If you love history, you've got to see this museum. Every stage of history of Azerbaijan is described with lots of interesting exhibits. There is also Tağıyev museum included, with several rooms imitating his once fabulous accommodation.

I was so excited to come and see this museum, but what a sore disappointment! The building itself was absolutely beautiful! There were some works going on in the museum, so the first floor was closed off for visitors. At the entrance you’re supposed to come through the security and some sort of a detector. We did go through, but the security didn’t even look our way LOL, what is the point of putting the detector then in place? :)) We left our bags in the lobby downstairs in lockers. Those lockers were falling apart, doors were hanging off half broken. Embarrassing!Upstairs in the exhibition rooms it was hard to understand what was what. First, most of the exhibits had no dates whatsoever - neither paintings, nor carpets or any of the other exhibits. Every item behind glass had a number next to it. Visitors must go back to the side of the glass box to read through the list posted on the side with the short explanation of the item. Basically I had to go back and forth, back and forth. Why not to put the explanation right next to each exhibit???? Some of the exhibits had nothing next to them. How are we supposed to know what is what???? Moreover when we asked these questions from the ladies that were in the room, they shared that all visitors say that and make suggestions to add such explanations. Some exhibits had explanations in 3 languages - Azerbaijani, English, Russian. Some only in 2 languages - Azerbaijani and English. No consistency. This is the Museum of History of Azerbaijan. I would be embarrassed to bring my foreign family and friends here. I hope this will be fixed. After all this is the representation of our nation.

The Historical Museum is under reconstruction. Only 9 rooms are open to the public in the palace. 2 starts instead of 1 because I took a guide telling the story of the man who built the palace and the guide was interesting (but short as it's nothing to see)

Not worth it. Hardly much on display and there is no one to explain anything. It is just like walking around someone’s house looking at their furniture, reading the displays and that’s about it.

This museum is chaos. There is no sign in the street where the entrance is. Inside the ladies don't really care that you are there, they're eating and talking very loudly. The museum is full of stuff, which might be interesting, however, the English texts are very bad and a lot, a normal person can't read that much (or you need a whole day probably and bring some food with you). There is no English (or any) text under a lot of items, so you don't have a clue what's going on. Also, a lot of copies of original books, pages. The toilet is Azerbajian as well...

If you don’t have patience, just don’t go. It is full of too much details For your information; it’s only 2 floors and cost you 10manat. Expected a good cultural understanding of Azerbaijan but it was disappointment. Usually I spend like minimum of 3hours in good museum but this one sadly left wishing one hour. Also it could be myself that who is tired as well. As someone said they just took out pages in book and paste it here.

(Translated by Google) We would like to know more about Albanian history, architectural monuments, the alphabet - about the monuments of written culture, about the examples that have survived to this day. Of course, the role of the Arabs in the destruction of our Albanian statehood is undeniable. Our real tragedy went on after that.
