After
a
second
tour
with
TES
today
I
feel
compelled
to
write
a
review.
I
prefer
not
to
write
negative
reviews
and
was
willing
to
overlook
the
poor
aspects
of
our
first
tour
to
Sheki
but
after
a
second
negative
experience,
I
feel
something
should
be
said.
I’ll
try
be
brief.
Tour
1:
to
Sheki
(and
a
few
spots
along
the
way)
-
The
driver’s
behaviour
was
poor,
including
using
his
phone
while
driving
(eyes
off
the
road),
drifting
between
lanes,
flipping
the
lights
off
and
on
at
night
for
his
own
amusement.
-
The
guide
hardly
spoke
to
the
group
on
the
journey
out
of
his
own
motivation.
No
recap
of
the
itinerary.
Almost
no
history
and
information
about
the
places
we
visited
from
him.
Almost
everything
he
said
was
a
response
to
a
direct
question.
Poor
management
of
the
itinerary,
leaving
us
to
wait
to
eat
lunch
until
4pm
(all
of
us
having
eaten
breakfast
before
8am).
On
the
positive
side,
the
tour
started
on
time,
we
saw
the
sights
on
the
list
and
got
back
to
Baku.
Isn’t
that
the
bare
minimum
though?
Tour
2:
Gobustan
and
the
mud
volcanoes
-
We
asked
for
a
tour
of
Gobustan
and
the
mud
volcanoes
only
but
were
put
on
a
longer
tour
that
would
go
to
the
Persian
Fire
Temple
and
Yanar
Dağ
on
the
other
side
of
Baku
as
well.
We
had
it
made
it
clear
that
we
had
seen
the
latter
already
and
TES
had
been
clear
that
they
do
offer
a
tour
only
to
Gobustan
and
the
mud
volcanoes.
No
problem
so
far.
-
After
having
visited
the
mud
volcanoes
after
Gobustan,
our
guide
explained
that
we
had
two
options
for
splitting
off
from
the
group
and
getting
back
to
Baku.
We
could
1.)
get
in
a
car
with
a
driver
and
a
private
client
from
TES
that
was
heading
back
to
Baku,
after
going
to
Gobustan
which
we
had
already
been
to
or
2.)
we
could
get
a
cab
(presumably
at
our
own
expense)
from
the
mud
volcanoes
or
nearby.
-
None
of
this
was
discussed
with
us
upfront!
The
whole
point
of
us
wanting
to
do
only
Gobustan
(just
once)
and
the
mud
volcanoes
was
out
of
respect
for
limited
time
on
our
holiday.
If
TES
could
not
offer
what
we’d
asked
for
they
should
have
been
clear
about
that.
Pre-arranged,
planned
out
travel
logistics
are
the
basics
of
any
tour,
so
customers
don’t
have
to
worry
about
any
of
that,
as
opposed
to
finding
out
later
that
accommodating
your
requirements
involves
a
time-wasting
workaround
for
transport
with
the
alternative
that
we
can
organise
a
cab.
It
is
fair
to
say
that
our
second
tour
was
not
meritless.
The
driver
drove
well.
The
guide
was
engaging
and
informative
otherwise.
You
might
take
the
same
tour
with
TES
but
just
get
them
to
be
very
clear
on
logistics.
Fortunately
there
are
many
tour
companies
to
choose
from
in
Baku
and
we’ll
be
giving
another
company
a
go
for
our
next
trip
outside
Baku.
TES
also
seem
to
have
many
good
reviews,
so
our
experience
was
quite
surprising.
Still,
two
tours
with
them
that
we
took
back-to-back
were
markedly
poor
in
some
way
that
a
tour
company
could
easily
make
better.
