Nezāmi is acknowledged as the greatest romantic epic poet in Persian literature. His heritage is widely appreciated and shared by many Central Asian countries and Iran. The statue is a tribute to his great literary contributions. The well-known Nizami Street is also named after him

It’s an awesome monument with beautiful park

Tall statue of Nizami near Old city area is adjacent to a small park. People come here to pay tribute to the great poet but night view is not that good. More lights should be installed by the local administrator so visitors can take good photos even in the night.

The Monument to Nizami Ganjavi, a medieval Azerbaijani [Turkish] poet, is located in Bakuin Nizami Square, on the intersection of Istiglaliyyat, Ahmad Javad, Azerbaijan and Islam Safarli streets. The opening ceremony of the monument was held in April, 1949. Sculptor of the monument was Fuad Abdurahmanov - People’s Artist of Azerbaijan.
