Worst hostel experience I’ve ever had in my travel life. We booked via Hostelworld a private.. after a 14 hours train ride we just wanted to get the room, take a shower etc.. but: as we arrived, the totally unprofessional “receptionist” and his aggressive friend told us that they don’t accept bookings from Hostelworld, even though they appear in the Hostelworld website. They refused us to give the money back we already paid as deposit and offered us a downgrade to a 10 bed dorm, accompanied by mocking laughter. In a nutshell: sure you are free to book, but don’t expect to get a room or any assistance.

Chaotically run hostel with poor internet. It seems a common occurrence that they double book here. Staff are friendly enough but not very proactive with helping eg booking taxis. We've heard of better hostels in Baku.

It is my first experience in hostel and i want to say that it was GREAT! The staff is very friendly and most responsive, ready to help at any second. The rooms are very large and comfortable. Location also incredible, all in 5 minutes of availability: railway station, clubs, restaurants, the old city, the seaside boulevard. Cool location, close to the center but there is shared bathroom, all facilities could be much, much cleaner! Staff was very helpful and friendly, all of them. Too bad they don't clean and maintain the place better. Breakfast is included but I did not try it - kitchen seemed too dirty. I liked the couches and pillows in the common area.

On arrival I received a full guided tour of the hostel & was introduced to the other hostelers. I was in a mixed shared room. Unfortunately there was only 1 A.C. unit so it was incredibly hot. It offered a smoking balcony so unfortunately the room was very noisy with lots of foot traffic through the room. The hostel was in a great location by the metro. Information given by management on bus & train times & bus numbers was a little stretchy at times & left me scratching my head & then trying to figure it out myself.
