The location is not the best. But everything else is amazing considering the price. This hotel is definitely much better than the ones in the city center. If you're hesitating because because you'd prefer a hotel in the city center, let me tell you that the taxi is very affordable in Baku. It's wiser to stay in a better hotel like this one and take a taxi than in a humid, old hotels in the center. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff is very friendly.

I am very disappointed with this hotel. Even they have the “ no smoking sign” everywhere the whole hotel smell cigaret. I just went to the gym and couldn’t breath this smoke anymore. Apart from in the room the same smell come and going 2 days now. Horrible.

It's not the Hilton nor is it $400 a night. What it is, is a hotel that greets you with very friendly staff has great big rooms is very clean has good food and bar with Sauna jacuzzi pool table. You get all this for a fraction of the price of similar hotels. It's located a $2 taxi ride from fountain Square. Do the maths people it's a no brainer. For me the Modern Hotel ticks ALL the right boxes. I was even lucky enough to be in the breakfast lounge when the earthquake struck on 7th December and to see the chandeliers swinging then the hotel moving wow. I also checked out then decided to stay another night I was given a different room and both rooms were as good as each other. So YES I would highly recommend the Modern Hotel without a doubt.

To sum it up. It’s horrible. Shower head is broken, had to use the hose to shower. The bathroom smells awful and there’s mold everywhere. The service is sooo bad, I’ve been waiting for them to deliver tissues as we speak, for around half an hour. Never again!

My five-days stay at Modern Hotel Baku had its ups and downs. One major drawback was the room, which was excessively dark and lacked proper lighting. This made the overall ambience less enjoyable, and it affected our comfort during the stay. Another downside was the staff's slow service, which often resulted in delays and inconvenience. On the bright side, the hotel offered a delightful breakfast. The delicious spread of food helped kickstart our days on a positive note, and we appreciated the variety and quality of the breakfast options. One aspect to consider is the hotel's location, which is a little far from the city centre. However, using Bolt for travelling made it more manageable, as we could easily access various attractions and places of interest. In conclusion, while the dark room and slow service were disappointments, the tasty breakfast and accessible transportation options added some positives to the stay at Modern Hotel Baku. If they improve the room lighting and staff efficiency, it could become a more attractive option for future visits.

I just visited the hotel to see the rooms before I book I like the rooms size I think it deserve a try when your budget gets tide 😃

My experience in this hotel was good, I wont say excellent because there is some notes I want to add, first of all the location is a bit far from Nizami street and specifically in the new years taking a taxi will be a bit challenging because it will be traffic and they will charge you a little coz of the traffic, I used the application bolt which is also fine and the price is fine but like I said they might charge you coz of the traffic and you never know some of the drivers have bad attitude, second of all in the hotel you can hear everything next door all the kind of noises, couples are doing something, people are doing something you can hear it all which is annoying because I have kids with me but at the end of the day I can’t do much coz this is hotel it’s for everyone but all I can say is to at least sound proof these walls, other then that I would say the rooms are clean, the cleaners are very friendly and kind. food is fine and the reception is nice also with nice decoration and furniture.

First of all its far from center around 20 minutes, the staff not helpful my flights 10 am so i check out 7am we are group of girls no one help with our l bags also they call me at 3:30 am to allow them to fax the water in bath room. I stay 8 days i am not able to slp well because of noise from other room all night I inform reception they do nothing. Its my first time and last time

Hotel was terrible. Room was very dirty. Vomit on walls, foods scraps on chairs and hair in shower. Beds only had single sheet on old mattress ( no mattress protector for hygiene ) . I have shared photos so you may see for yourself actual condition and compare to advertised photos. We arrived at 10pm and rooms not ready even though booking was from 3pm. Asked to wait 30min. We ordered fries and pizza and it took 45min to arrive. Fries were stone cold when they arrived and inedible and they insisted we pay still. Hotel staff were not helpful at all. They just said yes we understand but offered no solutions and would not even accept a discount on cold fries that we could not eat. We informed in advance that we needed to leave at 7am and were told breakfast would be available so we booked this option. When we arrived their 24hr kitchen refused to have any breakfast ready earlier than 8am for our children. Still made us pay for breakfast even though they would not provide. Do not book this hotel. For developing countries best to stay in a franchised hotel that has international standards of hygiene.

Very bad service they are big liers and cheaters they put different image that not true in the reality , quarable rooms was disaster 2 beds are very low class and low quality and when we complain the manager serhan shouted at us . We changed 3 rooms in 2 days due to un comfy beds and services. Dont recommend.

So I stayed here with my parents , the room is quiet spacious tho but the amenities provided were not upto mark , gym was just fine its in a dark and closed place whereas the services are quiet slow as they dont have alot of staff and most importantly we carried food with us due to health issues but the owner didnt let us warm the food from the hotel which was quiet upsetting for us. In terms of location its away from city center but in this case bolt taxi was useful as its cheap. And the hotel food is double the price. Overall experience was just fine.

It is a very good hotel with nice rooms and washrooms. A bit away from the city center but taxi (bolt) is cheap. It has a billiard table, a small gym available. A very decent restaurant on the 7th floor with nice city view. However, i found the hotel service a bit slow.

Its the worst ever, they dont konw any thing about their city. The breakfast fare, wi-fi v.good. the manager cancelled our seconed reservation. The price is good. Room is big. Its far from city centre.

The hotel is clean and its location is good, we will stay for seven nights in the hotel and there is no water kettle and no water, coffee or tea for complementary in the room, we had been informed that if we want hot water we can get it from the restaurant (shame), the lights are not strong enough in the room and the breakfast buffet is poor, I can’t believe this hotel is rated as 4 stars!!!!!!

Worst hotel experience ever, from the location a noisy late night restaurant to the drunken fights outside your room!!! strong stench of sewage in the room, mold in the shower cabin, musty smell of towels that are given one per person in a 4-star hotel(!) Met us, showed us one room, and in fact moved us into another The hotel administration could not settle the noisy guests who were behind our wall until two in the morning! The bed for two was completely unprepared, the two mattresses kept moving apart and it was not possible to sleep together The overall clearing is questionable, dust on the windowsill, dirty carpeting, hair on the bed I do not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel
