This modern indoor museum is ok and should be visited since you are already in Gobustan (i mean you should not miss open air museum of Gobustan). I would not say it is very exciting or there is anything special about this place. A good use of technology and nicely presented facts bit nothing more than any other modern museum.

Well presented in historical context, but poorly protected drawings against undeveloped d*ckheads. The rock art is an invaluable piece of human history, one would cry to see a contemporary Arabic name over millennia old drawing. There are also unofficial drivers who would take you to several smaller mud piles (volcanos), even local police is involved. We agreed on 45 manat, 1h trip (not a busy time).

It’s a great place for the history aficionados. You learn a lot of things all the way up to Stone Age, many petroglyphs displayed, day to day utensils people used centuries ago, it’s digitalized and quite entertaining.

A very well-built and well-presented museum. That captures the history of Gobustan from all the way up to the stone ages. The museum consists of 2 destinations, one which is indoors and explains the history theoretically along with pictures and artefacts. The second part is a total outdoor scape, which shows the real remnants of the Gobustani civilisation. For those who are into history and archaeology, this place is a must visit on your trip to Gobustan. Unfortunately, the museum is located in a somewhat isolated area, where the sun is at its peak, and there are pretty much no options to eat and leisure.

The cliff area used to be open but now it’s restricted. Luckily I have been on the cliff point on my first visit. Try visiting it by evening and avoid visiting it on a hot sunny day time. Try getting a guide to know more about the history and the inscriptions on the rocks.

The road to this museum has been paved since the last time I was there on Feb 2023. So you can in fact drive here or hire a taxi to get here all the way now. There is no need to change taxi at the town of GOBUSTAN or get a jeep or 4wd according to a lot of blogs.

It is a great experience highlighting the rich and beautiful history of Baku. However I highly recommend you go with a tour guide who knows their history as they can make a very big difference in the experience.

A really cool, literally, museum. It was rebuilt in 2011 and it shows. It uses latest technology for displays and it is wonderfully air conditioned. You pay for entry into the petroglyphs but as part of it you get a guided tour here. The lady who did had good English and she was informative.

This is a place which allows you to go back in time to understand how people lived centuries of years ago. The museum is state-of-the-art with narratives provided almost everywhere for visitors to read and understand things even without a guide.

A nice day trip, i recommend to rent a car and explore on your own. the way to the national park is very easy to find. If you visit on your own, the chances are high to enjoy this beautiful park alone without any other tourists...

This is a 2 storey museum with exhibiting ancient possessions like pottery, jewellery, weapons, bones, some remains etc. It is a modern building, with good led lights used to display and describe things, has a small souvenir shop inside and has washroom too. Just outside you will see small hut like structures, some caveman carved out of syone or so. Good place for photography. You will easily spend about an hour here.
