APPALLING,
AWFUL,
AVOID!!!
I
booked
a
five
night
stay
at
Old
East
Hotel
in
Baku
and
was
enticed
by
the
good
location
and
price.
After
arriving
there
straight
from
the
airport,
I
was
appalled
to
discover
the
state
of
hygiene
of
the
hotel.
The
rooms
were
filthy,
unkempt
and
in
a
very
unfit
state
of
affairs.
The
carpets
were
stained,
the
balcony
door
did
not
close
properly
and
there
was
a
large
gap
beneath
the
door
which
creates
a
significant
draught.
The
bathroom
was
probably
the
worst
part
of
the
room:
(see
pictures)
there
were
many
cracks
in
the
tiles,
the
taps
were
rusted
and
stained,
there
was
mould
growth
all
across
the
shower,
a
shower
head
clogged
with
limescale,
uncleaned
toilets,
filthy
toilet
brush,
cracked
sinks
the
list
goes
on.
The
hygiene
was
to
a
level
that
could
stir
up
serious
health
concerns
if
used.
This
incident
was
not
isolated,
the
corridors
in
the
hotel
were
so
small
that
you
are
practically
sharing
rooms
with
other
guests
who
were
unfortunate
enough
to
stay
there.
Having
peeked
into
other
rooms,
it
seemed
that
this
was
a
common
thread
throughout
the
hotel.
Trash
bins
are
left
to
fester
in
corridors
(pictured)
which
caused
further
stenches
to
linger
through
this
already
foul
environment.
I
then
went
to
express
my
disappointment
to
the
receptionist
about
the
extremely
poor
state
of
hygiene
of
the
hotel
for
her
to
immediately
state
that
I
will
be
charged
the
entire
duration
without
even
so
much
an
apology
or
desire
to
rectify
any
issues.
Her
main
concern
was
to
communicate
to
me
that
I
will
immediately
lose
my
money
and
was
so
nonchalant
about
the
concerns
without
even
the
slightest
bit
of
remorse.
She
then
informed
us
that
we
will
have
to
collect
our
own
bags
(from
the
top
floor/
no
lift)
if
we
wanted
to
leave
as
there
was
“no
one”
to
collect
it.
All
throughout,
she
claimed
there
was
abolsutely
no
way
we
will
be
refunded
despite
not
stayinog
a
single
night.
Her
entire
manner
was
dismissive.
I
strongly
urge
anyone
who
reads
this
to
AVOID
this
place,
your
money
is
better
spent
elsewhere
in
that
area
where
there
are
plenty
of
other
decent
hotels
within
a
few
metres
from
that
wretched
place
