If you are Bengali and staying in Kharagpur then you must try this restaurant. You will get 'Delicious' food at a reasonable price.

Food quality is good.....cooking exactly like your home....but takes longer time....

Home like food ranging from different vegetables to fishes and chicken. Mutton liver curry is a must try. So is peyaj posto (onion and poppy seeds).

The sensibility the maturity with which you are replying here, I wish 10 % of that sensibility the owner shows there. They are immature rude and they can go to any low for a piece of onion. I do not feel to say all these as they are much older than me. But literally the fat uncle there insulted my friend for boiled potato. He needs to change his attitude. Beyond that dirty basin, no water sometimes, dirty tables. Basic level hygiene should be maintained. They are short of staff too.

I am a frequent visitor here for lunch. And I'm ready to put my money for this. To begin with, if you're in love with Bengali cuisine and want a homely feeling on your dining table, this is the place to visit. 💠Starting from Mach er Kalia (Fish in rich gravy), they serve a lot of fishes, ranging from Katla, Rui, Chingri on a regular basis and Pabda, Pomfret, Ilish based on availability. 💠There comes Alu Bhaja, Postor Bora, Bhindi Bhaja, Korola Bhaja, Shaag Bhaja for Bengali Starters. 💠Then you get plenty of Daals, veggies include Bhindi Masala, Baigan Masala, Alu Posto, Matar Paneer among my favourites. 💠 Then comes the Proteins. Ah! I've already talked about the Fishes. The Chicken curry is light and delicious. I always order a Mutton Liver Curry to go with it which adds an extra bit of spice. The Mutton curry is so full of flavour that you're gonna keep drooling over it's aura long after you're done with your meal. You also get Chicken Kosha, Mutton Kosha, Chicken butter masala and stuff. But these are may all time favs. 💠 They have Thalis as well. Veg Thali, Fish Thali, Chicken Thali and Mutton Thali which contain veggies, a fry, daal, bhat and alu sheddo other than the protein. 💠 You can sum up your meal with the refreshing Lebu Jol they make instantly. It's the perfect complement to a hearty meal. Well the place is really cheap. But there's a bit of long serving time here, if you're ordering a lot of different items. Rice is steaming hot. ⬆️ Their biryani is a real treat. 4 pieces of meat, a bit of gravy to complement the delicacy. Definitely a try. And there's mach er tel er torkari and mach er dim er Bora mostly in seasons. My favourites as well. Visit again? I'm coming here almost every couple of days!

Always good food with affordable price. Please try Fish Maharaja, it's just awesome taste and you can't find in menu so just go and ask about this special dish.

Regular place for cheap Bengali style cooked meals and thali. All vegetables and dals are available. No no for special occasions. Bengali thali with fish is pretty good. Cleanliness and hygiene are a concern though. Ok once in a while for me.

Adding a star for sentimental reasons - this place serves food for the soul for a Bengali. Homely food, and absolute value for money. Do try the mutton kasha and butter roti combo.

There food was good but they did not maintain the quality recently. According to price food quality is not up to the mark. The main problem is that, they will not give the value of your review. If you complain about the badness of the food, they directly deny it. Even once they told, "your taste is bad, there is no problem in food"... Whereas that day actually the fishes were worst, three of us we leave the food. Indirectly he told that we don't know the taste of a good dish of fish... I hope this kind of food business is only possible because of this IIT campus... They don't know how to deal with customers... Was it a good business mind ? Or it is true that Bengali people does not know how to do business !!!???

Generally food is ok even if its expensive. . Plates are not cleaned mostly. Once we had mix fried rice and chicken kosa. Chiken was old refrigeratored hard. Fried rice was prepared in hurry. Sometimes taste may not be tgat good. But its disgusting to serve stale food. Again, if u ask for onion or mircha..they tell u 100 things. No proper fans, dirty tables and chairs.. In business we should keep a bigger heart. A piece of onion or mircha.. is going to get u more customers for sure.

If you want to taste Bengali homemade food then this is the best place. I ordered plain dal, potato nut fry, and pointed gourd fry (potol bhaja) and fish Kalia. The potato nut fry was crispy, the patal bhaja was delicious. The fish Kalia was the best. It was spicy and the fish was very fresh. I enjoyed it very much. I definitely recommend this place.

Bengali taste in all the foods. Curries are very delicious but a bit expensive regarding the atmosphere.

Food is very good but it's the most unhygienic resturant near IIT. Ambience is very poor.

Their food quality is adjustable. Don't visit this restaurant regularly otherwise they start taking u for granted. Good business cunning brains though they appear simple natured from outside. They had not been charging for re-taking a veg item from veg thali for long. However, a one night when they had low count of customers they charged extra all of a sudden for re-ordering 1 extra item of veg. The incident was witnessed by a known contact of mine so citing this example out Haraami-panti se thhodaa bachke....Entire Kharagpur is like a Scam so LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP

Food quality varies a lot, sometimes the chicken kosha tastes finger-licking delicious but it tastes bald sometimes too. I'm not gonna complain about the atmosphere but service can be improved.

Worst service ever. Even if the order has been given in advance, they will take more or less 45 -60 min to serve you. Even sometimes fails to provide the accepted order items.
