If you want classic diner food that tastes delicious, then go to John’s Cafe. Around since 1972, this places knows exactly how to cook a good meal. I highly recommend, especially the breakfast special or the veggie omelette.

Cozy restaurant with a down home feel. Daily lunch specials, made to order with limited seating.

I am Dr. Glenda Clark visiting my granddaughter Jessica Peterson playing basketball at SMU University Women's Basketball Team. I give John's Cafe 6 stars. He actually waited on us and I had to give him a hug. Good service and my waiter was excellent 👍

I love coming here. Pancakes and coffee are great. All the food is great. I don't like the order then sit down, because if it's full then where do you sit? And the lady taking the order is gruuuumpyy! I wasn't sure if I needed to get up to get my food and when I got up the man cleaning the table let me know they will come and bring it, he was very friendly. Overall I will still go for the food not so much for the lady taking the order (service)

John's Cafe is a wonderful family owned restaurant that has been around the Greenville area for more than 20 years. I have been going to this location since 2014. It has a great breakfast special with unlimited coffee refills. Their lunch menu is also very delicious. If you're in the area make sure to come here before 3pm! Also, make sure to order before you sit.

Great breakfast and lunch spot. Order at the counter and find a seat. We love the pancakes nice and crusty from the griddle yet so soft and fluffy. This time we did chopped steak and chicken fried steak and eggs. Thick hashbrowns perfect extra crispy. Fast and efficient service.

This was my first time at John’s and it was a great experience. I don’t like that you have to order at the counter and then find a seat. Luckily it wasn’t too busy when we arrived. I have no complaints about the food and the prices are affordable.

I loved this place! I was visiting Dallas to see friends and my friends took me here. I loved the small, cozy place. They have a great variety of foods - from traditional breakfast foods to Gyros to Mexican food. I ordered breakfast. The food was phenomenal, the staff was very welcoming, and we didn't wait long for our food. Every time I visit Dallas, I want to come here!

If you're nostalgic for a late 80s or early 90s diner, this is your place. The food is delicious (I had the gyro omelet), the place is cozy, and the owner still delivers your food to your table. Can highly recommend, unless you're in a rush. It can take some time to get to you because they're busy- but the wait is well worth it!

The BEST comfort food you'll find. Been going to John's Cafe for over 20 years. Always great food, always the best service. John and his family are the kindest people you will ever meet. They know all of their customers and literally treat you like family. It feels like going home for home-cooked meals. Will always recommend this place❤️

Holy wow! Unless you hate food your going to love this place! The biscuits and gravy are the best! Generous portions and a great atmosphere. I had the Philly cheesesteak omlette and was amazed how good it was. Definitely a dinner experience but well worth it!

First time to this neighborhood staple. Love the fact that you order up front - makes going with kids way easier and you can bug out quickly when the tantrums start. Super accommodating of our toddler and they gave him an unexpected jack-o-lantern pancake (see pic). Food was exactly what you want from your neighborhood diner. Will be back!

I got the chicken fried steak with cheese eggs, hashbrowns, coffee, and a pancake. The eggs and hash were cold, but I think they would have been good if they were hot and fresh off the grill. The steak was GOOD. But that pancake (a sub for the toast with an upcharge) was DELICIOUS!! I will definitely be back for a pancake(s) and the chicken fried steak.

I truly do adore this down home Dallas, TX southern jewel. As a Dallas native I am getting tired of all the “a La cart” restaurants that are coming through. Offering no flavor, personality and are just unreasonably priced for no reason. This is what you call southern comfort. Hot coffee, thick biscuits, affordable food, great customer service, hot fresh food made to order! You truly cannot beat that with a stick. I know this placed has graced us for over 20 years and I hope it stays another 20+. Love this place and all it brings! One of the last great breakfast spots left! 🙏🏽

As visitors to Dallas we needed somewhere to go have a quick breakfast before we started our activities. We were disappointed we loved the atmosphere of the place it has an old school feel. The menu was straight and to the point and didnt have a million items on the menu which made it easy to order. When you come in you order at the counter then pick a seat which is cool you also have to get your own silverware. The food prices are very affordable and Its not a place with a lot of bells and whispers but its a great place. The food we ordered came out nice and hot and it was very good we also loved the fact we didnt have someone coming by asking us was everything alright. Its not a large place which is also a good thing. We just loved everything about the old school luncheon feel

I just left John's Cafe. It was good to find a place with a nice "mom and pop" feel, especially given the area that it is in. Nice big portions of food and they keep your coffee cup filled. I think what I enjoyed the most is that you could feel the love in the building. Mr. John is very welcoming, and you can see and feel the pride he has in his business. Everyone who walked in called him by name. It felt like you were getting a meal from a relative.

So My Wife surprised me about this Cafe! ☺️So I didn't know what to expect, But honestly it was Very Good I dig the Atmosphere very nice cozy vibe ! 🎯💯 Definitely enjoyed the Breakfast Plate The Bacon was 10/10 nice thick, hearty, crispy! But THOSE BUTTERMILK BISCUIT are Heaven sent and the Gravy is the Halo!😇🎯💯 On issue is the communication of the service is lack and waiting for a seat is a dragg of an experience, But other than that wonderful spot! 💯 Just get in early 🤣💯❤️
