I was disappointed in the lack of concern by the restaurant for community safety/health. Their patio and inside were packed and only one side of the place was being used so there was no social distancing. Server were wearing masks. Of course, no customers with masks on. The staff couldn’t care less if I was there they were so busy. There was a woman folding napkins who was new and she jumped in to help me and was very friendly. I couldn’t leave her without a tip! (Please, even if you get takeout, tip the person a couple bucks for helping you if they’ve given you good service. FOOD wise, it was mediocre. Then again, all Mexican food here is mediocre. I got the Macho Nachos which consists of chips, white LIQUID cheese, ground beef, refrained beans, and guacamole and sour cream. It surprisingly was not as good as the place across the street. The chips weren’t made in-house, which was also a disappointment. So far, Los Magueyes is still the best Mexican food in Milledgeville.

I went with my mom here, the service from the waiter was good. Although the hostess was really bitter with her tone as soon as we walked in. When we sat down and finally grabbed our plates, I asked for a salmon with fries and salad but the plate looked so sad there was almost no fries and they put what it seemed to look like string cheese on the salad. My mom asked for a ribeye but the meat didn’t look or taste like ribeye, it was really hard and difficult to chew on and on top of that made the plate look sad as well, my mom decided to call the manager to complain but the manager only argued with my mom and said that that’s how the meat is if she asked for it well done instead of apologizing or consider what my mom was saying. My mom just left it at that to not cause a problem but we left very disappointed.

My experience here was highly unacceptable. We were seated and there were multiple flies surrounding the table. Our waitress (Cambrey J) was not a good server; She was gone majority of our time here, and only came to the table five times. Once to take our drink orders, second to deliver our drinks and take our food order, thirdly to give us our food, to hand us our check, and lastly to take the bill. She never asked if we were doing fine or if we wanted anything else. While my boyfriend was trying to ask her could he order more she just sat the bill on the table and insisted that we get to-go boxes and drinks. We barely had our food for five minutes. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all yet she was trying to rush us out the restaurant.

Been a frequent patron of this establishment for over 15 years. I get the same meal everytime, and this time as I was confirming my daughter's meal was cooked to order, I mentioned again what I wanted and was cut off by waiter. Got order, it seem good, until I moved my chips (Texas Nachos) around and found what I specifically DIDN'T want (no beans) was all over the middle of my meal. I called waiter over immediately and he just repeated that's not what he heard, rude as $&*! and offered no resolution. The new adding gratuity for all parties especially in a case like this is crazy. So I paid for for I didn't eat and tipped a rude server! I won't be going back to El Amigo in Milledgeville!

Update to original review 08/13/2020 This place has really gone down hill - and I realize a lot of places were affected by covid - prices going up I get.. but $8 for an 8oz cup of queso? Like come on.. not only that but the service is lacking where it used to be excellent - called to place a pickup order at 4:50 - unaware they weren’t open until “later” and was told I couldn’t place an order because they didn’t open til 5.. wait what?! Our last order - fajitas were sent without tortillas - we got 1 order of bang bang shrimp instead of the two that we ordered and the $8 cheese cup we got was only 4 oz.. it’s really disappointing as this was my favorite take out spot until recently.. Photo is $15 Texas fajitas for 1 - 3 shrimp, 4 strips of chicken, and 4 strips of steak. Case and point. 4 Stars - the food is still tasty - and management was gracious in hearing our complaints and handled the complaint to our satisfaction. Thank you Nicky. rant over. —————— Original review below: 5 Stars Hands down the best Mexican in the area.. the food is always delicious! Very reasonably priced! Love this place!

The food was super yummy ! I always get a taco salad with chicken, this time I subbed it for grilled chicken and it was so much better. The service was pretty slow, it seems like almost every time we come in lately the service is slow. The host was rude and seemed like she had no interest at all in being there or doing her job. Will definitely return since it’s definitely one of the better Mexican restaurants in Milledgeville. Came in Wednesday with a party of four (myself plus 3 others) the service was a bit slow but the food was good. Our table was automatically gratuitized, the server had forgotten to bring items to the table. Messed up on the food order and drink order. If im going to be grated at least have the service to support it.. when I asked him about it and explained to him he would have gotten a better tip if he didn’t grat us all he did was bring me over a menu.

Great street tacos. Been going here on and off for 15+ years. Really good thick tortilla chips and great salsa. I was turned off seeing that they now charge 3% more for non cash payments.

Until today this was my favorite of the local restaurants. It is depressing enough to be a widow eating alone without being ignored. I was seated and forgotten. After about 15 minutes I left. I handed the duo that seated me the menu on the way out and said "I am going some pla ce where I will be waited on." The woman sputtered "oh I am sorry." The man looked at her with a grin on his face." Never addressed me. I walked out. It will be a long time, if ever, that I go back. I eat here quite often and always recommend to others. Not anymore. They were not excessively busy.

It was good. The only thing was our waiter didn't write anything down and messed up our orders. Even the drinks he couldn't get right. Need more training 😞.

We had Texas Fajitas for 2 today and they were very good. Great flavor, well seasoned and a generous portion. We also got a small white cheese dip which was also very good. Service was great, the waiter was very attentive but not intrusive. Prices were reasonable.

My street tacos were sooo amazing and flavorful with the salsa and without. I got one Birria Taco and two Pastor. Service was also amazing, our waiter gave great recommendations.

Very great place to eat! Food came out so good. Server was shawn and he was one of the best waiters i've had. He was very informative about the menu and had a sense of humor.

There was a tacky sign on the door that stated menu prices had changed, and to ask server for more info. We assumed maybe a couple dollars higher. Fajitas were 13 on the menu and jumped to 21 on our bill. It spoiled our experience which was positive up to that point. Why not print a temporary menu? We won't be back.

Definitely get your money's worth here. The portions are huge and the flavors are on point. One of the best "house" specials I've had. Fajitas for 2 is really fajitas for 4 get extra tortillas. The ceviche is a meal in itself, although the captains wafers are a little weird for a dish usually served with tortilla chips.

A cockroach fell from behind a television onto our table. We told our waitress who picked up the cockroach in a napkin and directed us to the owner. The owner very quickly disappeared into the kitchen and sent out a young man who said he was the manager. This young man quickly stated he knew we were upset but that we had to at least pay half of the bill. We asked to speak to the owner. He never reappeared. Of course, we ended up paying for half food and a very negative experience. We won’t go back!

We are camping nearby and stopped in for dinner last Friday night. The place was very busy, but it was dinner time on a Friday. We are from Texas so we had to try the Texas Fajitas. They were delicious and made me think of many restaurants on the San Antonio River Walk. Great experience.

Fajitas were a good mix of steak and veggies, not overwhelmed with onions like some places. Texas Margaritas are on point and the salsa is yummy.

Fantastic dining experience. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and attentive. Our waitress was very helpful when helping me order and eat around my cilantro allergy. The food was hot and muy deliciosa. They have Coca-Cola products and a full bar for those margaritas and mojito‘s. Ooey gooey cheese dip and bottomless chips and salsa. I would recommend this place for quick lunches or large parties. Good atmosphere and comparable pricing for the area.

First time here and I really wanted to like this place as its always crowded so it must be good, right? Nope! Margarita was all sour mix and couldn't taste any Tequila nor triple sec. And the food? Just because there's guac and cumin in your food doesn't make it Mexican. This was some of the blandest "Gingo'd" Mexican that I've had in quite some time. Waitress got our drink orders wrong but fixed it in a reasonable time and then got out food order wrong and that took a while to fix and that's understandable. There's nothing Mexican here but the decor so if you're looking for authentic Mex food it's just further up Columbia a few miles before you get to the lake. At least you'll get some sliced lime to go with decent Mex food.

Food was priced differently than what was shown on menu. What was shown as $9 was actually $15. Couldn't argue price because they have a small sign saying there has been a price increase and they don't have new menus yet. Ordered cheese dip which was basically just a half full bowl of warm milk. The servings are half what they used to be for twice the price.

Good food, generous portions, loud crowd. Texas fajitas we're an excellent call, plenty to be split for two. Margaritas were a little weak but they're cheap. Crazy busy on a Friday night, it's the happening place in town.

👍👍 Ok, so it isn't much to look at from the outside, but wow were we impressed with the food and the music. We had a fish fry basket with beer battered fries and a greek salad and also the wing basket with a baked potato. Both were good, but I am not a fish eater and even I had to try that moist incr...
