This is an UPDATED Review of Areum Apartments. I wrote my original review shortly after we first moved in in 2017. As the very first occupants at Areum, I have a unique perspective- as we get ready to move out soon. The ONLY reason we are leaving Areum is because we are moving to Los Angeles. Otherwise, we would be extending our lease FOR SURE. I honestly have nothing but positive comments about Areum. This is a luxurious complex, to be sure. The management team at Areum include Tony (Manager) and Grace. Both have been at Areum from the beginning, and are both amazing!!! Both Tony and Grace are always responsive to any needs and enforce the complex rules ( such as non-smoking environment). The grounds are kept immaculate at all times, thanks to Oscar. Our Apartment has EXTRAORDINARY VIEWS of surrounding mountains and courtyard. (see photo). Amenities include a spacious gathering room with 2 huge big screen televisions, a large sized pool table, kitchen and comfortable couches. This room can also be rented out for special occasions for a nominal fee. The heated pool and jacuzzi are both beautiful. There is a barbeque grill, complete with sink and ample counter and bar with seating- as well as another big screen television. There is a walkway that winds around the property that residents use to walk their dogs ( the complex is dog friendly). The complex is quiet- the windows are soundproof- and when shut, block out all noise. The location is extremely convenient, close to Freeway 210 ( less than one minute drive), and walking distance to countless restaurants such as Olive Garden, Claim Jumper, Red Lobster, Black Angus, Soup Plantation to name just a few. Our bank is literally right across the street ( Wells Fargo). There is a Metro Bus Stop in front of the complex, and the Arcadia Metro Subway stop is less than 1 mile ( easy drive or walk). The apartments are very modern with A LOT of storage in the kitchen. Bedrooms have Walk-In Closets and In Unit Stacked Washer and Dryer. I highly recommend Areum if you are looking for your next home in the Arcadia area! Please feel free to ask any additional questions.

Doesn't get much worse - totally disorganized and uncaring office staff. They require a key for access to everything, including the gym(where they have a security camera) but they have no security or security cameras to protect their residents in their vast parking garage. So, if some derelict makes their way into their wide open parking garage and decides to smash your car windows and rifle through whatever they can find, you're basically ******.

I called the office looking for some guidance. The response I received was "Those questions you have are better for the manager, the manager is not in town. She has been out of town for a while and I don't know when she will be back." Sounds like they just want your money and don't really care once you are on the lease.

Nice building, Didn’t move in but they kept my $500.00 deposit tried to get it back but they refused ☹️

The people here are friendly 😍. It's conveniently located near the freeway and surrounded by a variety of food options 🍕🥗🌮🌭. The building is consistently clean and shiny ✨

My husband and I came to look at these apartments we were thinking of moving in the area. Leo Dean was extremely helpful and pleasant during our experience of touring the facility. He answered all of our questions and was very respectful. My husband and I are still unsure of moving to the area but if we do this is definitely where we would stay.

A year after having moved out we get contacted by a collection agency (Genesis). It seems they like to tack on bogus move out fees and tell you nothing about till it’s too late. We made sure to ask before moving out and they let us know everything was settled. It’s almost as they’re giving you a big F-U for moving out by adding these fees after moving out and not telling you anything about them and just sending them straight to collections. Do not move here.

I was told I wouldn't hear any noise above me before signing the lease. Total lie, you can hear every foot step and activity that goes on upstairs. There's problems with the integral structure of the flooring and ceiling, which they've failed to fix and continue to ignore my requests to resolve. They said, they would look into moving us and all I want is it to be fixed. Moving would only cause more stress and anxiety. This has been going on for months now. The building was poorly constructed and the rent is a total RIP OFF. At this point, I'm considering having a lawyer look into the matter--this has caused undue stress and losses--it is something to definitely ponder. When being told we are the only one's experiencing the noise disturbance whilst not being properly accommodated by the property manager, that was the final straw for me. The only reason we moved here was, we were at a place that almost caught fire and invested all our money into the deposit. We were completely taken advantage of and exploited for our misfortune. I would never recommend this place and hope this helps someone avoid spending thousands of dollars and emotional stress and valuable time. The only reason I'm giving Arrum two stars is, Tony and Grace are nice people and shouldn't be blamed for Natalya. She lied to us and deserves only one star. I appreciate everything Tony and Grace have done but, the fact remains we came in here on good faith and were let down.

Top notch amenities and beautiful finishes. You can’t go wrong! The location is great, tons of food within walking distance, mall is just a couple of miles, and Monrovia’s Friday farmers market is great.
