Very good shrimp I'm from Florida very time I come to visit its my first place to stop and eat at I'll periodically stop and have dinner before I leave back home ill stop by before I leave back to Florida obviously the food is very good been eating shrimp at at Johnny's since I was 10yrs old the one on main st in los angeles

Yum, yum, yummy! I've been coming here for a few years now and I love it. I usually order their shrimp and fish combo with fries. This time I added a fish taco to my order and was very happy with it. There is something about their batter that I really like, it's not that typical "rough textured" type, it's the smoother type. If that makes any sense haha. This place has that old school neighborhood feel to it that I grew up with. Thank you Johnny's Shrimp Boat, I appreciate you guys!

I have been coming here 30+ years! You will never get fried shrimp like this anyplace else. It’s so delicious paired up with the red chili sauce and rice beans and gravy. The prices are great and the service at the West Covina location is fantastic.

Never ever disappoints. I live in Colorado so I never get to eat here but i must say every time i have eaten here since i was a kid it's always like the first time eating it.

I love this place! On the way home, stopped to pick up dinner. Good prices, even now. Fresh cooked shrimp, mmm... Then I saw the shrimp cocktail. A little spicy but so worth it.

Love this place me and my family have been coming here for years! It all started with my father he used to take me as a young girl to the Johnny's shrimp boat in Los Angeles in that little place and we never stop going we just love the food!! ❤️😍

Our first time there. The service was excellent. They were playing good music, I was tapping my feet and ready to boogie. The service was fast, and friendly. The food was delicious. We will definitely be going back.

The shrimp here is hand breaded and deep fried and for $20 you can buy the most 12 pieces of shrimps with a side of rice and beans or french fries. The fish and chips or the hand breaded fried fish fillets cost more than the shrimp here and the fish tacos, chilli beans con carne, pork chops, steaks are another options that dine in customers should order here. The shrimp goes with the spicy chilli sauce with pepper seeds in the sauce insead of cocktails sauce and the fish goes with the tartar sauce.

The staff are extremely friendly. I never had them mess up my order. They always smile. I couldn't complain a bit.

Kind helpful patient service. Food as good as original downtown restaurant.. and Boyle hts Whittier Blvd!! Good parking in back clean neat plenty of tables or go takeout too

Great old school style shrimp, rice and gravy that takes you back to your childhood! They don't make it like this anymore. The restaurant is a little old and dingy but very friendly staff.

This place has probably never been cleaned, not once, since opening. The seats and tables were truly filthy. We ordered fish and shrimp, plus fries. The order came with chili rice(?!). Both the fish and shrimp were incredibly greasy. The shrimp was over-breaded so that the flavorless breading was all you could taste. The fish was also bland, though the breading wasn't as heavy. I couldn't eat the chili rice, as 1)I didn't, and would never, order it and 2) it looked liked something my cat excretes when she's not feeling well.

Food was good. Counters and kitchen looked really clean. I ordered the hamburger paddy and replaced beans with fries. Interesting new flavors. The staff was very nice and attentive. Would come back again if in the area.

Although the owner was super sweet, the food was not that good. The shrimp was over breaded, the fish was too greasey, the fries were basic and rice and gravy had no flavor. They seem to be stuck back in time. They need to update their recipes and their restaurant, It's very worn down. Sorry

I have been coming to the original Johnny shrimp boat since the early seventies I remember being a kid and seeing the original owner feeding the homeless people rice and beans with a little gravy You have to try the short ribs gravy on your rice and the 2 shrimp special delicious

The lovely lady behind the counter served us promptly and the gentleman making the orders not only did an excellent job serving food quickly during multiple orders coming in but he did so while providing QUALITY food. Something often gone unseen. Absolute delight of an experience.

Doesn't matter what you're in the mood for you'll find it here beans,rice,shrimp,chili fries hamburger and so on and so on fresh clean and delicious everytime ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ in my book

The food here was great! I didn’t know they had one here in West Covina but it’s great I do highly recommend this great place. The lady owner was so nice and telling us about the history of Johnny’s Shrimp Boat. The food was great and we will definitely coming back

This spot is the best! I love introducing this spot to people because its such a lowkey spot. The interior doesn't appear to be anything special but don't let the appearance throw you off. The beans and rice are a must have, the shrimp is amazing and the fish is great. You'll be amazed just how good this local spot is!

Skip that carnaby street place up the road and just come to the best around. Johnny's is always great fish, great portions and at a fair price.

I’ve had service related issues in the past with this and the Pico Rivera location but always come back for the shrimp and chili sauce. Maybe that is the trick. Just order what I enjoy and skip the other items that are hit and miss. On this occasion I went with the basics, shrimp and fries and it was awesome. Soooo good and so unique. Service was really good this time as well. I was able to order over the phone and pick up without any delays. When I asked for extra chili sauce I didn’t get the usual mean look, so I left a few dollars as tip and started walking out. The lady called me back noting that I didn’t need to pay for the extra sauce, which was very nice. I said it was a tip and not for the sauce anyway and we both had a quick laugh. I’d say skip the rice, gravy or beans but some people really seem to love but is hit and Miss for me. Same with fish, but the shrimp is always Fire and will stick with that for now.

After being at a reunion all day, stopped by close to closing for our favorite, 6 piece shrimp, rice and beans. SO GOOD!! Friendly people! Will always go back with every trip to the area!
