Just ate here for dinner and the food and service was amazing! Had a mai tai to drink, a spicy crunchy salmon roll and the chicken teriyaki and it all was incredible! Definitely going to come back here. 😊

I celebrated my nomination today in this fine place. I am glad to say that it was a delightful evening and the venue was indeed the reason for that successful event. SERVICE IS TERRIBLE! They are very rude and non-accommodating! When I didn’t like something and wanted to send it back, they were so rude and made such a bid deal about it saying it wasn’t their fault that I didn’t like it. They even took my name “for next time”. Not going back.

Great food and portion

Great service, super fresh sushi and great decor. We had our holiday lunch for 10 people and the staff is super accomadating. Several of us don't eat sushi but they raved over the Shrimp and Eggplant dish. Presentation is beautiful. We'll be back soon!

Really really good food! I ordered takeout from them super close to closing time and felt horrible but they were really sweet about it and had my order ready already when I got there 10 minutes after placing my order. Not to mention it was really good and tasted super fresh. Would go back again!

This place is a big disappointment! They made me Waist my gas, and are very untruthful. The site states that they are open till 11pm. I called at 945 to ensure they open till 11 as stated, and to ask what time the kitchen close, a lady told me that the kitchen closes at 1030. I then rushed there I arrived at 1015pm. I asked for a table for 4, she then had a blank face and asked me did I order. I then proceeded on telling her I called and someone told me the hour that the kitchen closes. She then told me they close at 1030. Overall this was extremely disappointing specially being hungry at this time of night. They lack effective communication.

I am a regular at Taka and there’s a reason for it. The sushi is consistently top notch and the service is excellent! I’ve had almost everything on the menu and there wasn’t one dish I did not thoroughly enjoy. Amy, the owner is always hands-on and definitely knows how to run a restaurant as good as anyone does.

Been ordering bi weekly for over 10 years. Still drive from massapequa to Merrick probably passing 37 sushi restaurants on the way. Worth it every time.

Lunch Special and Bento boxes are the best here!

Restaurant charged me for each fountain drink, instead of the industry standard free refills. Menu did not mention this charge, nor did the waitress. When I brought it up, the waitress and manager both acted like they had never heard of a restaurant with free soft drink refills. Great lunch sushi specials though!

Food was decent, service ruined it all. This is the third time we came here with some friends and their kids and last time the service was OK this time it was horrible so needless to say most likely won’t be going back to this place anytime soon. Our kids are teenagers and all had our own meals for the prices that they charge should be able to deliver a higher level of service. First off it took forever to the waitress to come to us and then when she did she wanted to take the entire order all at once because they probably wanted to get us in and out as quickly as the kids so they could turn the table. We ordered some appetizers and then she came back with our drinks and appetizers took our food order after she brought our food we didn’t see her afterwards. One of the appetizers was a tuna avocado roll she came back with a tuna roll and we stood that we wanted tuna avocado she whipped out her notebook and shows us what she wrote and she said no it says tuna, meanwhile I can’t read Japanese so whatever she showed me was what it was but regardless we know what we ordered and she was arguing and she said this is not OK basically asking us if will eat the avocado tuna roll without the avocado and we said no we’d like avocado she went back to the sushi chef came back 30 seconds later they put slices of avocado on top of the rolls and then she said can you go is this OK which we responded looking at each other I can’t believe she just did this and then we just said fine whatever she said don’t worry I won’t charge you for the avocado at that point I wanted to take the bill so far pay it and leave because I was so angry at somebody responding that way. We had some overpriced desserts after our meal and we left. I won’t go back there again there are much better options for sushi between Merrick and Massapequa that you can go to that actually value their customers and have better food and come at a more reasonable price.

This is our new go to place!! Great food and a lovely wait staff. We found this place a couple of weeks ago and ordered platters to use for appetizers for Christmas. Everyone enjoyed and nothing was left!! Prices are fair and reasonable for good food. Love having a local place to stop in, get served quickly and with good food.

Loooveee the fresh sushi here! I've been here three times so far and I'm never disappointed. Fresh and tasty fish. My favorite rolls are the Black Lady, Sweetheart, and the riceless rolls. Kani salad is served fresh. The fried Gyoza is very good. Lots of outdoor seating, just bummed that everytime I go, there are less and less servers (last time there were just two ladies attending to all the tables on their own and also cleaning and setting up tables), which can create delay on orders, un attentiveness, etc etc

This site is my favorite place. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. Whenever I I need a fair lunch, this restaurant comes right away to my head. excellent and all sorts of food and a rich menu.trained team, and nice mood. Not less important, the charge is fair. I recommend this place with no hesitation.

Tried this place for the first time after passing by it numerous times going to Outback Steakhouse, our usual spot. Outback had a 40 min wait for table and we were to hungry to wait so I walked in and they seated 4 of us immediately. Place was clean, staff wearing masks, temperatures at the door. I was very happy with the service and the food. It tasted fresh and presentation was on point. Will recommend and return.

Was recommended to go there by a friend. Was sceptical at first because, yes, I have my favorite sushi places. I was certainly NOT disappointed! Everything was absolutely delish... A must... the scallops and mushroom in ponzu sauce appetizer. I could have eaten 2 orders! Also delish was their "Sex on the Beach" roll.. but who wouldn't like that. Lol Shrimp tempura roll.. to die for. This restaurant is a MUST!

Good...we got desert a little bit late before they close they were kind enough to let us have it...we also got our extra left over rap to take home. Come here often like the virgin mojito since I drive still refreshing without alcohol.

This place is awful. Ordered and an hour later I call to find out where it is. To be told it’s on its way. 2minutes later they call to tell me my order isn’t there and I gave phone number wrong. Hello, you just called on my number. How could it be wrong!!!!!! Then they say, we have found your order and it is definitely on its way. 1 hour later, no delivery and when I call back I get the run around. Then they tell me they cancelled my order 2 hour ago. What the hell. Do not order food from here. They take your money, then don’t deliver and lie.

Worst customer service, they are unable to keep up with orders especially those placed for take out or delivery. Who cares that the food is good when it takes over an hour to receive your food. I highly recommend finding another sushi place- they are a dime a dozen and Taka is definitely not worth it!!!!

I recently visited this sushi restaurant and had an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff and seated promptly at a cozy table. The atmosphere was lovely, with soft lighting and tasteful decor that made me feel right at home. Now let's talk about the sushi itself. It was truly some of the best I've ever had. Every roll was expertly crafted and bursting with flavor, from the classic California roll to the more creative specialty rolls. The fish was incredibly fresh and melted in my mouth with every bite. I particularly enjoyed the spicy tuna roll and the dragon roll, which were both absolutely delicious.
