Being an Indian myself I seriously underestimated Bombay curry house before going there. The ambiance is lovely and service is satisfactory. Coming to the main point the food is very good. I can't say it's the best ever but these guys are serving some good Indian food so far far away from home. And hey you get chilled beer too here which s bit difficult to find in most places in city. Bombay curry house definitely deserves a spot in culinary map of balikpapan.

Cannot during this COVID-19 period say anything about the ambience or atmosphere, other than the decor looked very tastefully done. The take away food I had though, was some of the best Indian food I have had in Indonesia. Rogan Ghost had lovely chunks of well cooked meat, the sauce was thick and full flavoured although I could have done with a little more heat. Alloo Gobi was delightful, and to my suprise served again with a lot of sauce, I am more used to it being drier, only slight criticism is the use of Star Anise, I am more used to cloves, but it was still very enjoyable to eat if a little too oily! Garlic Naan, was very nice, although I couldn't detect any use of yoghurt in the dough, personally I prefer my Naan to be cooked at a higher temperature to scorch it a little in places, but it was still a pleasure to eat. Overall, food was great, and the staff were very helpful. Have to recommend this place if you are in Balikpan and crave some genuine, tasty, Indian fare! Will certainly be visiting again.

Coming from Australia our “Indian” curries are very different, however my husband and I loved the flavours in the beautiful curries we selected.

Best chole masala I've had and I've eaten a lot of chole masalas including in India! Salted lassi was lightly salted, just right. Just glad to find excellent vegetarian food in Balikpapan!

Garlic naan was awesome, we can see the chopped garlic outside. Indian cuisine is the best remedy to relish your apetite if you are tired. All the price is excluded 21% tax and 11% service. The price range is reasonable with its delicacy. Each menu is around 60-70 thousand IDR.
