Horrible experience! Ok, we all know the standards in Balikpapan are really poor, but… this is another level of be lied! Where to start… - in general the hotel, all common areas, in specially rooms are really really old! - The rooms are dirty, very dirty, i found hairs in the beds, in the shower… - the sheets are not white anymore, have so many blacks, browns spots and other things that I don’t want to know for my mental health. - the 2 nights i was in, i couldn’t shower, brush my teeth or either wash my face because everytime i want to open the tap, the water was disgusting yellow color. - the staff is not so friendly at all, i asked to give me an invoice and they don’t know how to do it, i called because of the disgusting yellow color and they reply me they didn’t know when the problem will be fixed, which kind of responses are these??? I’m not in a hostel, it supposed to be a hotel and it doesn’t reach the level of it. Really really poor! - the breakfast is chaotic! So much noise! - so overpriced.. paid $80/night for feeling uncomfortable, couldn’t shower either wash my teeth. - I’m feeling scammed and so disappointed! I can’t understand either the punctuation here. Really, hows possible this hotel has 4 stars??? Looks like a bad joke! Anyway, of course I’m mot coming back never in my life!

The hotel is well located but totally exhausted. Just old and need a complete renovation. Furnitures from the 90ties, bathroom dirty and water leaking everywhere. Can feel that the housekeeping is off. You feel like in the movie The Shining and expect to see Nicholson getting out from nowhere chasing you with an axe. Despite the fact that this hotel is a wreck, staff are super nice.

Definately need to renovate inside the room. Too many defects here and there especially in the bathroom. 2 lights didn't work, submit a complaint turns out they don't have the spare to change it. Interms of cleanness way too far to my standard perhaps, as the way I experienced they not really bother to change your bed sheet, vacuum your room and mopping unless you requested. Breakfast, the only services that I would give two thumbs, they have a great selections. My conclusion with the price I paid, not worth, too expensive with that kind of services, not to mention the attitude of the staff, from security to front liner under rated! They don't have hotel behaivour (hospitality, warm, greeting, not at all)

My most favorite part of this place is their pool. It's so cool and refreshing plus the beautiful view. The rooms are also cozy and staff are so warm. Good thing I decided to book here for my business trip.

I had the best time here! I actually wanted to stay at ibis but its full. So I moved here. It has great ambience, really classy yet comfortable. The room is pretty big. You can see the ocean from the pool. It has spa and gym as well. The breakfast are really nice! Various food and drinks. The jamu taste good as well. I love the desserts. It is not too far from town. Definitely will comeback when I visited Balikpapan next time!

The hotel needs refurbishment. The airconditioning was insufficient, quite suffocating inside the room. The room was good sized but ventilation needs to be improved. The lobby was probably renovated but sadly, not the guest rooms. Yet.

Grande lobby and spacious room. There's bath tub in the bathroom as well. I ordered sandwich for supper and the room service was great, but the food price was quite pricey as expected from a hotel. The breakfast was fabulous, they even had coffee stand and 3 cofee machines. They had panoramic lift with pool view, indoor playground for kids, and even lactation/nursing room!

Novotel did a good improvement after the pandemic, the services, room hotel even ballroom. You will get nice impression for staying in this hotel. The location in the center of Balikpapan city, near the Melawai beach, restaurant, mall and park. One more thing, the sales staff was very helpful, friendly and reachable, thanks to mba Tesda who always ready and support all of our event. Even just asking for a small thing. Keep up the good work and cant wait to stay in this hotel again🥳🥳🥳🥳

The hotel feels very very old, aircon not functioning well, furnitures and upholstery are really worn out. It needs total renovation of everything. However, the service is very good

Stayed here during a business trip to Indonesia. Rooms are clean and spacious. Room service meals were delicious, and delivered quickly. My room had a great view overlooking the pool and ocean. My only complaint was there were not any no smoking rooms available, and I was placed in a smoking room, however there was no obvious smoke smell in the room.

The overall experience was great for me, I like the view, where you can see the ocean while swimming in the pool. For the price, you'll get an elegant room paired with tasty food. I love the experience.

Not bad but I think it's a little overpriced for what it offers. The room is made with poor materials, there is no mineral water in the rooms and the bed sheets have stains on them! The good thing is that it has good food and plenty of options. I don't know if I would stay at this hotel again.

Overall the hotel services were ok. But i have to gave 1 star for the laundry quality. The laundry was charged per piece, but the quality was like “laundry per kilo”. Not clean enough, too much flowery chemical smell, and every clothes tag by staples :( and one of my tshirt got stained.

What I experienced during my stay: 1. The water in the shower was not strong enough for me to take a bath. 2. I need to call the receptionist three timea for them to clean my room. 3. I asked the receptionist three times to borrow Iron, or even ironing my clothes (paid services), but no one come up until I checked out. 4. Suddenly the refrigerator was producing exploding sound (similar with pop corn sound), but thank you for the fast response for my call. 5. The tap water in my room is very small. 6. There is no room service menu in my room, and when I tried to call the room service, no one answering (4 times call) 7. I booked a non smoking room, but somehow in the mid of night, my bathroom smell smoke.

Good location not far from the airport only 20-30 minutes, friendly staff, first glance of the room is clean but too bad The pillows smells weird, just like being used and not being cleaned enough

Great place to stay, and you are within reach of many places inside the city centre. I have great experiences staying here. All the services are top notch, they cater to your needs quickly and the ambience within your room makes you relaxed even more after a long meeting and or after sightseeing. All in all I highly recommended this place to stay whether you're on work or just staycation during the weekends.

I have a very pleasant stay at Novotel Balikpapan. The staffs are very kind and helpful. The rooms are clean and more than adequate. The sea views are spectacular. Prime location that fit all of your needs. Excellent work from the Management and staffs.

It was a great and pleasant night! Nice room, nice bathtub, great services. The food is just so-so but still delicious!

One of the bigger hotels in town. Hotel is dated and supposedly 10 yo. It feels much older. Rooms are worn out. No water provided. You are expected to use a water jug to get water from dispensor along the corridor. Not a good idea during Covid....... Toilet in the common area is filthy. Noodles prepared in kitchen served during breakfast had insects flying insect the cling wrap. Lication is ideal along the water front with easy excess to restaurants.

Although the building is a little bit old, their services are excellent. We came too early around 10 AM, but they allowed us to check-in. They also served crabs on breakfast! I really love this hotel and definitely will come back again.

A 4-star hotel establishment in Banjarmasin. Novotel has its own unique atmosphere that makes me feel as being gtreted "welcome back", wherever it stands. Thia is a good hotel, very comfy, service is the best. Break Fast is a regular menu, but the Nasi Goreng is fragrabt and pretty good. Not that too plain nasi goreng you usually find in a breakfast buffet. The room is comfy, but I guess it is time for renovation. But I think it would be very difficult since Covid has just been relaxed. In overall Novitel lives up to its name. The service isbalways friwndly and efficient. Loved it!

A comfortable hotel with friendly service. It's a good idea not to provide plastic bottles, but to prepare glass bottles that can be refilled at will. In a pandemic situation, please keep the health protocols.

The hotel is nicely located, very close to restaurants and the beach. Too bad I did not have the ocean view. More lighting would be great.
