I stayed in this hotel between 24 Jan - 27 Jan, but I forgot to take many pictures because the work schedule was very tight. The hotel's service was great. The room (it was double bed type) was clean and quite spacious, with AC, hot/cold shower, hair dryer, refrigerator, and TV cables. However, there were no electrical sockets near the bed. Hence, we could not check the phone on the bed while charging. The breakfast menu has various dishes & drinks. Don't forget to try the bread & pastry, I particularly love the donuts. I hope I can come back to Balikpapan again and do justice by taking more pics of this hotel.

Nice and clearn room with no drinks except some tea bags and sugar, Although a small fridge was equiped. Had smoking rooms as a must in indonesia. All staffs is friendly and polite

A nice hotel at the suburbs of Balikpapan, pretty far from city center, but there's lot of groceries and convenience stores nearby. The rooms are clean, the staff are nice and friendly, and the food they offer is pretty tasty and there's a lot of choices. Recommended.

We are about to spend 3 days staying in this hotel. The first day we had in non smoking junior suite was absolutely wonderful, the second day was a bit dissapointing because we moved to deluxe room and we booked a non smoking room, but apparently we were given a smoking room because there was an ashtray and the room had cigarette smell. I hope it wont happen again next time. Other than that, we love our staying in this hotel very much.

I visited the rooftop restaurant yesterday. The food is nice and the place is beautiful.

Good hotel with quite good view. Location is not strategic, far from the city, bumpy road access via Soekarno-Hatta, and overwhelmed traffic in particular hours. Cuisine is good, although I would say not the best in town. On average compared to other competitors. Rooms in this hotel are not soundproof enough, at least for me. Crowd sound from next door can be heard just like it happens in your room. Friend of mine also said that sound from above floor is heard in her room. However, room is clean and neat. Facilities and amenities are good. Service in this hotel is the most liked feature, I conculde. Warm hospitality is offered by most of the staff, from reception to security.

Friendly and very polite crew. Very delicious mash potatoes for breakfast. Had arranged a big meeting conference in the Ballroom, and all went well with such great service. Excellent!

We stayed here just for a night to celebrate my husband's birthday only but the services were excellent. From the room, it's quite spacious, clean, complete with complete toiletries and bar complimentary (water in bottles, tea, coffee, sugar, general stuff), couple slippers and towels. We also had dinner in room last night. We ordered Sop Buntut and Fried Rice. It was nice, not that perfect as its not that hot when served but the taste is good. The breakfast service was great too. They had various types of food from Indonesian to western. The best was the hospitality of the staffs. From check in counter service, restaurant service, and even one of the staffs, ms Tasya was so helpful and kindly prepared my special request to give birthday surprise for my husband. Overall, today was one of my best moments staying at Hotels in Balikpapan, especially with Platinum Hotel. Thank you

Food for breakfast was alright. Mostly Indonesian food but that's okay. Don't get stuck in the smoking floor because they use those rooms for both smoking and non smoking. What that means is that you might get a previously smoking room that have been "treated" with sprays just prior to your arrival. Appliances and room conditions are quite bad. Hit water is slow and not very hot. The shower handle came off. The shower curtain has major mold on it.

The buffet is worth a shot if you're into "all you can eat" dinner. Some might consider it pricey tho...

Great room, I got a deluxe and it's remarkable. Avoid 10th floor because everybody can access the floor without card (it provides the only access to the rooftop) I got a room beside the emergency stairs and it was really noisy. The breakfast was great Lousy service: Checked the website and the price for a room was lower, but given a higher price by the sales. Instead of explaining why it was cheaper on the web, the sales told us to book from the web ourselves. Order a non smoking room, but the receptionist still offered me a smoking room, they still made me wait for a non smoking room eventhough I checked in late. A friend of mine also ordered a non smoking room but given a "cleaned/air filtered" smoking room (yes they have flexible smoking rooms that they can turn into non smoking room) The food in canton restaurant was great, but it will keep you waiting for a long looooooooooooong time. We were having an event and the sales give us the wrong dimension for the backdrop, made us reprint the backdrop. :( This one is a fatal one: they don't seperate events. Seminars and wedding events can be held at the same time while the partitions only able to hold 60% of the sound from the other ballroom. Definitely reconsider holding an event at this hotel.

First time here, it was good place good service, excellent breakfast choices, both local and western choices available, rooftop was great with live music. Wifi was fast and comfortable bed, Highly recommended.

i gave three. now 5 stars. it's level 1 has dim sum restaurants, and it suits my taste. superb. what a surprise to me who are coming from Western Indonesia

Its recommended hotel since pak Jokowi had stay here, nice, clean and the most my fav side is the bathroom you can shower while watch tv, but if the bathroom have bathup its would be awesome more..u can stay here guys

The Platinum Balikpapan Hotel, East Kalimantan has very clean rooms, good service, and the facilities at the hotel are very complete and good. The breakfast provided is also guaranteed to be delicious and also provided in large quantities. rate this hotel 10/10. This hotel's facilities include a sauna, swimming pool, gym, etc. the rooms are quite spacious and have a very good view. the bathroom is very clean. In the room there are several very comfortable seats, the windows are also big, and in the lobby there is a toy area that anyone can access. In the room there is a TV and a very cold one and the air conditioning is like the one in the mall. from the airport to this hotel is quite close even though it is not located in the city center. The equipment provided is also hygienic. At night this hotel looks very nice, and the ballroom in this hotel is very large. The only view from my room was the road and the sky. When I went there there was still a lot of empty land and the road there was a bit uphill. From me there is nothing missing from this hotel.
