One of my favorite mexican bars in Angeles city. They serve really good margaritas - in different flavors. The servers are super friendly! TIP: There’s dance number from the staff if you order “shaken” margarita. Located just a few steps from the very popular Rob’s Gastropub and Sports Bar.

Highly recommended for tourists! We went for breakfast here after being disappointed with the serving sizes at our nearby hotel. The food here is 5 star for this area and 4 compared to back home in Canada, but a lot cheaper, so it gets 5 stars from me! My omelet was big and satisfying. The coffee mugs are large, the coffee is good, they come with a refill. The staff are friendly and efficient and they cope with a busy restaurant without an issue. Overall, it was a good experience. We drove past the same day in the evening and it was packed. It's obviously a very popular place. They have bar style seating facing the street, which are great for people watching. The street is very lively after dark. There's no shortage of eye candy either! We ate dinner here pre-pandemic and it was very good. We will be visiting again. Update: We just had breakfast there again. Another great experience!

I love this place, atmosphere is good and food is usually great. Sometimes you get a poor made food though like today I got a bad Thai curry. We asked for spicy and it had no spice in it. And why so many potato’s in the Thai chicken curry? Second review: Asked for spicy Gambas. And we really got SPICY gambas. The picture speaks for itself :)

Had dinner here this evening. Ordered the beef stroganoff. It tasted good. But the portion was small. Too small for the 475 peso I paid for it. In my opinion not good value for your money. Maybe I ordered the wrong food.

If you are not sure on what to order, start ordering the nachos. Very generous portion, tasty and filled with beans and other toppings. Worth the price. Then for your main you could try their shrimp ang beef fajitas. You won’t regret it. Friendly staff including the owner 👏👏👏 forgot to take a picture of the nachos.

The food is really good. And the atmosphere is fine. I only have one small complaint and that is I hate… I really hate sour cream. I’m sure I’m in the minority, but when I make that clear to the waitress about this and I expected the quesadillas to have it, I told the waitress-please no sour cream. But I was surprised when my main dish’s enchilada sour cream all it. I’m sure most wouldn’t have a problem with it or they’d just scrape it off. Not a big deal, right? I know. But I just hate it- so I just threw away 1/2 my meal untouched. That disappointed me as I had eaten here before and really enjoy their food. Usually I pretty much spell it out - no sour cream on anything. So it’s my mistake. Still, it was disappointing. I brought my wife to show off the place and it’s great Mexican food (since I’m Mexican American). Sorry, I should really be writing about everything else that I had eaten there before and enjoyed. Like their quesadillas, flank steak and fajitas and drinks. I tried to put on a fake smile for my wife. But I just cannot eat sour cream. 🤷🏻

Food was not edible. Did not taste anything like mexican food. Bland at best. I have eaten better frozen burritos in the frozen section out of a gas station.

Fantastic place, the food quality is top notch and not really overpriced. I love Mexican food and this is as close you can get in Philippines. Would be nicer if the other Mexican beers except Corona wouldn't be permanently out of stock, but hey you can't have it all, can ya?

Totally enjoyed their Chimichangas! It's so good I had to order extra Jalapeños. Their serving is also enough for two persons (or one really hungry person). The waitresses are also very friendly. It's cute they kept talking to me in English thinking I'm a foreigner. Will definitely come back here to try their pizza and other food!

A few years back I had a bad experience here and blew them up on a review. I must however, give credit when credit is due. Since my first visit, I have visited the establishment several times and I am absolutely satisfied with the service and food! Tequila Reef is great and kudos to to Mike and Grace…..keep up the good work and service and never sacrifice good service and customer satisfaction for anything!

I have been eating here for about 3 years now, and I have never had a bad meal. Plus, the margaritas are easily the best I have had anywhere in Angeles. I have tried quite a few of the appetizers but the mozzarella sticks and jalepeno poppers are my favorite. For entrees, I almost always get Mexican food which is served in large and delicious portions. For example, the "mini" burritos are too large for me to finish, though maybe if I didn't get an appetizer first... If Mexican isn't your favorite, they have plenty of variety to suit almost all needs (my wife almost always gets Filipino food which she says is good here.) Overall, one of my top restaurants in Angeles. Picture included is my most recent meal, the 2 item combo plate with a chicken enchilada and a beef taco (with beans and rice.)

Only thing that was good about this place were the waitresses. Some real cuties in there. Food wasn't great and seems like the chef is overusing the microwave to blast the food.

Great Mexican / Tex-Mex restaurant. One block away from Fields Avenue and all of the action. Very nice staff, interior and decor very fitting for a Tex-Mex restaurant. Food was great, drinks were good. Prices on par for the area. Definitely will be returning.

I had lunch (pulled pork burrito) and breakfast (enchilada). The “pulled pork” was not pulled. Still, it was tasty enough that I finished it. Their Mex rice and beans are good. They also have hamburgers and other non-Tex Mex food, e.g., Western breakfast. A solid option for peps craving reliable food on Angeles.

Place has a great vibe and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place. I ordered one of their burritos (the larger version) and was not disappointed at all. Will be coming back here again for my regular Mexican food craving and their other menu items seem very interesting to try as well.

A lot of Western people. Difficult to find a table during busy time. High price considering the price in Philippines and the quality of food. The taste of food (Chicken Quesadilla) was somewhat disappointing considering a lot of good review comments about food. The amount was good enough though. My overall experience is disappointing. They accept credit card.

The food here was fantastic! I am from Texas and I know good Mexican food. Fajitas were perfectly seasoned and cooked with onion and bell peppers. Jalapeno poppers were perfectly cooked as well as the Monterey Chicken with fajita veggies!

I use to eat here a fair amount, but just never that impressed with their "Mexican food", Texas Crash and Burn burrito. Last few times I went I always asked myself, why am I eating here? I will give them credit for the fact that once a long time ago I had a foreign object in my burrito, like a SUPER hard tortilla chip...took a like of investigation to determine it was a thin part of a bowl that had broken off in a microwave oven.... they didn't charge me for the burrito.

One of my favorite locations with a nice ambiance and the employees; waitresses and bar tender etc .. are very pleasant. Food could be better, certainly plenty of room for improvement. Also the toilet seat in the boys room looks as if it's been there since the day they opened. How much does a new toilet seat cost ... come on buy a new one. Wanted to rate this 3.5 but cannot ... so 4 it is. This is a edit; Thanks to the manager. I used the toilet recently and guess what they have a new toilet seat. Many thanks mate for listening. I will also say that in my opinion the margaritas are the best I have ever had.

2ed time was the charm! I had a issue withmy food here the first time. It was a sloppy burrito. So on the 2ed time around ( after a quick response form the owner) i came back for breakfast. I ordered the eggs benedict. I ordered this because i have been making it my self for over a decade. It was delicious! It put a smile on my face. Only improvement needed would be to toast the English muffin about 2 minutes more to get a good crunch. 100% get the eggs benedict. Im so glad that taquila reef took my review seriously. Please thank your staff for me! See you guys soon! * owner responded to goolge review is a start. Understand this is a failing of management. You traind them. There will be a 2ed chance soon (with in a week) but, never a 3ed

After reading Williams review about the great customer service I'm forced to comment. Tequila Reef has been my number one restaurant since my first visit in 2014. It's even saved as my favorite place on maps and I frequently dine in and have food delivered. So to write a negative review about a place I like so much is heartening. The customer service used to be great but my last two visits I've left dissatisfied with service. It's ironic that Williams review response says the management "works hard" to live up to customer expectations but that hasn't been my experience with my last two visits and request for a manager. On my last visit, the staff chose to let me and my three guests leave without ordering, than to accommodate an extra lime in my margarita. If the staff was empowered to meet customer expectations like the review response suggested, my guests and I would have ordered more drinks and food, but Instead we all went to Kokomos. You guys have awesome staff and great food. It's a shame you would lose thousands of revenue and a loyal customer over an extra lime. 😔 Update and Reply to the OWNERS comment: Dear OWNER: Thank you for letting me know you're not in the business of providing customer service like you mentioned in previous review replys. I was completely wrong thinking that the management would provide a better business mentally than the staff and am actually shocked at this reply as a business owner myself. The cadillac margarita is 500pp each. I make it with half the cointreau BTW because I like mine not so sweet.. the lime would be 10pp. Total for 2 drinks is 1000 pp. That's a 1% cost EXCLUDING half the cointreau used. I don't understand the business case that would allow you to forgo current and future sales over 10 pp.... None the less, thank you for the reply. I Unfortunately don't like to be greedily charged small amounts for minor services. It's the principle for me especially when I spend so much at your establishment. Maybe this is something to think about when you say you are striving for excellent customer service.

There was a guy who I believe to be the owner that was very helpful and accommodating. For every business it's important for owners and managers to make an appearance and provide a sense of effort. Comment about the cheese- I am a black American with connections to many Mexican Americans. Lots of Mexican food has came into my culture. I found it interesting the type of cheese being used for the tacos. The purpose of cheese is not just taste but the visuals. I know there might not be quality cheese available in the Philippines or it might increase the cost to make the food. I would love the option of cheese that represents the culture. You are a 5 Star restaurant in my book.

Great value restaurant. It's 1 block from Walking Street and therefore offers bigger portions and more options. The big burrito is literally the size of my forearm! And I'm a big guy! The staff is funny. I joke with them the whole time. They only get about half the jokes. There's so many of them, and only about half of them do the actual work. I love messing with them!

It's a good quality food option for Angeles City. It's the best quality Mexican food in Angeles City - not as good as say Tucson Arizona, but good enough for the Philippines. The location is great for tourists. I've eaten here over the years I've lived here and still like it. The staff has worked here for a while and are very experienced and kind. Most recently I had breakfast here and all was good. There are plenty of expats to conversate with as well. The only issue is parking if you have a car.

The food here is great. We tried their ribs, Chimachangas, Burritos. The Margarita the pitcher is a winner and they use Sauza Gold Tequila not some local Tequila. A lot of us got buzzed on the 3rd Glass.

I have eaten at Tequila Reef a number of times now. Every time the food was great. I gave a previous review where I accidentally gave TR 4 stars. I don’t see how I can change that so, It’s time to update things. In addition, for the past week, I have been dreaming of two things on their menu… fajitas and nachos. I have become obsessed with the idea of having them these again but this time together. Because I have been dreaming of Fajita Nachos! Maybe we can combine an order of each and make something special… TEQUILA REEF FAJITA NACHOS!! It’s also possible they already serve it. Their menu is extensive. I also know the owner is a great person and they can be very accommodating… so within the next few days, I give it a try and see if I can succeed. And if I do, I’ll post some pics on here. Because it’s hard to fall asleep now. I keep thing about Tequila Reef AND Fajita Nachos! Maybe they’ll look something like this…

Went for breakfast. Everything seemed freshly/homemade, including the salsa (which was mild, not spicy). There were only a few other couples there, and the music in the background wasn't too loud, so that was enjoyable. The omelette was standard, but the burrito was amazing and huge. I got the mini and still couldn't finish it. Good Tex/Mex food!

(Translated by Google) it's delicious. The price is very good if you think of it in Korea. In particular, I ordered 2 tacos with beef and fork....beef seems to be fried by seasoning the ground meat, and the fork seems to be chopped with minced meat. Grooming differently for each material... would be difficult without care. However, because the surroundings are an adult bar, it is difficult to come with a family due to the atmosphere.

Great service. The burger was not prepared to specs. Ordered medium, came dry and overcooked. First burger had (exposed?) old/stale meat taste, but crew replaced. Margarita's are spectacular and generous on the Tequila. Earned a point on that.

  • 4/5 Lilit T. 2 years ago on Google
It is a typical, very-Angeles city-place. The margaritas are the best - these are served in large margarita glasses as original and made with strawberries. After one of those the surroundings seem very entertaining. The food is not bad either. It is usually very well-frequented so if you like to secure a sit outside you better call ahead. The service staff is friendly and forthcoming.

I'd give it 4.5 out of five to be fair. While it's a Mexican restaurant, they have an extensive menu with everything from Italian to American to Filipino to Cajun. All of the food is good, though nothing is really great. Very large portions, very friendly staff, and the margaritas are ridiculously strong and cheap.
