Great piece of history, with info, short walk to the top of Bridge and longer harder walk to the bottom. Seat in shade at info area, a lot of info on other local hot spots too.

Easy to access location with terrific views and informative storyboards to enjoy. Not a difficult walk, and part of the extensive rail trail. Great for a weekend adventure.

A beautiful part of the Skipton rail trail. We started at Smythesdale rode to the bridge and back, about 17kms. The outlook and surrounds from the bridge are beautiful. On your return to Smythesdale, try Thru the gate coffee shop.

This is a spectacular wooden bridge to walk across or to view from below where the creek can be crossed. A great walk along the old rail trail with views of rolling green hills, kangaroos fungi and wildflowers.

Built in the 1860's, this is Victoria's longest trestle bridge. Its right alongside the Skipton rail trail in Newtown near Scarsdale. Worth a visit if you're a history lover, or just enjoy nice scenery!

Such a good place to photograph. Especially sunrise or sunset. The track could do with a bit of maintenance though

Nice to see a trestle bridge in good condition. It is open to walkers and cyclists. Excellent views from the bridge and of the bridge.

Well worth the detour from the highway if you are not cycling on the Rail Trail! Excellent viewpoint for photography and to remember past glories of both the railway and the many gold mines that dot the landscape around here. Newtown was once a railway junction with a line south to Cressy and Colac.

Historical wooden railroad bridge no longer in use. Open for foot traffic.
