I ordered the 1KG Meat Board it was delicious and was served quickly. The front of house staff were friendly and helpful and the venue was reasonably clean. Great atmosphere if you’re looking to watch a game or match or have a meal with family or friends. The venue has a number of televisions and an onsite TAB as well. The following few minor issues do not overshadow what was a good experience. The front door at the corner of Lydiard and Mair Street was not open or signed with advice to use other door/s, no cutlery or serviettes were provided with the meal, the glassware provided had marking to it.

The perfect place to have a few drinks and the daily deals made it totally worth it. Would highly recommend if you just want a casual place to chill, play pool or hang out with friends. I also ordered the boneless chilli and garlic chicken (large) and it was amazing!!

Came here for a quick dinner on a Monday night. Staff members were very welcoming and helpful. I think it was Emily who made sure the meals came quick and I liked her attitude towards other customers too 😊. Food was pretty good too 😊

Long story short: 5 star, enjoy your meal. That’s it, goodbye. All right, here’s some details: I test restaurants with the pork-factor; if a chef can cook any recipe with pork to perfection, it means they can do any recipe to perfection. If you’re into the culinary arts you know how different cooking pork is to any other meat. I ordered Baby Back Pork Ribs: -cooked to perfection -absolutely no foul or off smell -amazingly fresh and juicy -better than the pork ribs I tried in a 5-star Sydney restaurant -the sauce: 5-star I ate every bit of it and even when I was full, still it tasted delicious. (Pork factor: 5-star) Negative points: Chips too oily Packaging: the sauce was scattered all over etc etc Overall: SOLID ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Was here Tues a fortnight ago for dinner at 6pm. Had Salad + Calamari & chicken + chips wrap. Both average in flavour. The salad - beetroot was the canned variety & salad not fresh. Calamari not flavoursome either & chicken pieces were dry. Never figured out why country fare should taste like this when in theory it should be fresh sourced locally. Neither figured out why country prices are more than Melb city when rent/lease would be less. Friendly service. Nice interior.

Always pop by sporting globe when we're in Ballarat. Staff makes you feel like a local. Plenty of tv screens for sports, also a pool table. One of the better sporting globes around!

Love the food here. Good spot for sunday lunches. Served by lovely girl Emmerson. She looked after us and checked back on us time to time. What an amazing workers she is. 5 stars for service.

Ordered take away food here as my fave rib place was sold out. Could only place an online order, which annoyed me as I wanted to pay with a gift card, but couldn’t. The food was not available in the time slot I wanted so I had to wait 90mins for it. When I picked it up, the 4 staff members chatting behind the bar refused to make eye contact for 7 minutes. My food was packaged and on the bench, but I couldn’t get it. When I did get it, it was lukewarm but absolutely delicious! 2 meals plus garlic bread cost $120, but fed 3 big eaters and we had enough for another meal (we made our own salads) they must have run out of pickles because we received 4 sticks of celery! (Not a comparable replacement-how about a sorry note/discount/or a heads up!!!) Honestly, if I had have been served immediately and not ignored I would have given 5 stars, but bad service is a deal breaker!

Always a great feed! We had great service from Richard, which made us feel very welcome. Will be back to try the spicy wings! Thank you.

Amazing food and service. Very friendly and helpful staff who were more than happy to alter my dish to cater for dietary issues.

Ordered two steaks on steak night, both not being cooked anywhere close to what was ordered. One ordered rare, came out blue, cold and barely edible. The other ordered medium rare, came out very well done. Asked for another one, with barely any remorse from the staff member that served us. They reluctantly brought out another medium rare (half hour later) which came out blue as well! Wouldn’t you think you’d know how to cook a steak on steak night

  • 5/5 Debbie T. 8 months ago on Google
Steak was excellent, came medium as ordered and not well done as my previous dining experience. Excellent service from staff although beer glasses could have been chilled for a better experience as i ordered a jug of beer. All in all excellent food, service and atmosphere, a rare combination indeed, in these times.

Went here for a birthday in the upstairs bar. Staff were friendly and food was delicious. I really enjoyed the halloumi, cauliflower bites, and mac and cheese. The cocktail I had was excellent too.

We were on holidays from Melbourne and we experienced prompt and excellent customer service and delicious meals!, Casual dining with exceptional quality meals. A fantastic atmosphere and great experience was enjoyed by all 12 of us. Highly recommended!

$42 for a cocktail jug shared between only 2 people and neither one of us felt any alcoholic affect what so ever. Was just a heap of sugary syrup. Chicken wrap was mostly just salad I'd prefer to go to shnitz where you get much more chicken. The prices are so expensive for what you get. I'll never come again.

Was here for the grand final. Absolutely electric. The staff were loving every minute of it as well!! Fantastic place to be if you want a good meal and great atmosphere!

I had a chicken parma here and was disappointed that it was one of the smallest and more expensive meals I have had in a while. (I had a chicken parma a week ago in another hotel and It was so big, I could not fit many veggies on my plate. I could not eat it all.) From memory, at the sporting globe, I paid an extra $5-$8 for something about 1/3 the size and there was no veggie buffet. The food was good, but I'm in no hurry to return.

We came in for 2 round of shots at different points of our Christmas bar crawl tonight, and each time we were served by Nathan! He was so kind and fun and made us want to come back to sporting globe again! He mentioned that he is already a manager but I say give him a promotion!!!

We have been here many times and are always very satisfied. Their Nourish bowls are absolutely amazing along with their refreshing non-alcoholic cocktails. The sweet chilli lime chicken wings are also very good but just expected the size of the wings to be a bit bigger.

The best Parma we have had in 13 years! The staff were the best, very helpful and friendly. Great meal and fair prices. Cocktails! So many to choose from and all delicious. Will definitely be a regular customer here from now on!

Where to begin? Friendly and attentive staff - we had multiple staff members checking on our table to make sure we had enough food/drinks and that we were happy with everything. Great deals for every day/night of the week and kids eat free (the kids meals are also very generous) on Mondays and Tuesdays which was actually the main reason we went - not a lot of places offer this. Everything we ordered, from food to cocktails, was really delicious. Couldn't fault a thing. We will definitely be back!

Walking in on a very busy long weekend Sunday and we were welcomed warmly! Only available seating was outdoors on the balcony in 8degree rainy weather but you wouldn’t have even known, we were so comfortable. The staff were the best I’ve ever seen and the food was beautiful and fresh! Well done guys, awesome establishment xx

A fantastic hotel if you just drop in for a beer or stay on and have a meal. We have never been to a hotel to which the staff & owner could make you feel most welcome & comfortable. The meal service & drink service was exceptional, the meals were delicious without a fault. Richard the owner should be so proud of all his staff & Richard himself gave us a very warm welcome. See you all next time we visit Ballarat. Gary & Julie from Nunawading.

Had never been to one of these places, and of all the ones I could’ve gone to in Sydney or Melbourne, ended up going to the one in Ballarat. It was close to New Years Eve and most other places in the city were closed of fully booked. The service was nice and it was easy to get a booth. There’s a wide variety of food. Unfortunately, the food’s not really that good. The steak I had had no seasoning in itself and basically lived off the sauce, which wasn’t bad, but wasn’t amazing. The entrees were the same. There’s no effort put into the food, it doesn’t taste bad, but it just feels quite bland. As for the drinks, there’s a decent selection of beers, but they overpriced, and the mocktails I tried were absurdly sweet. There’s much better places to eat in Ballarat, but if you just want to have a beer and watch some footy, then I guess this is a good choice. Don’t go there if you want to eat good food, though.

5* customer Service, great food. Had an error occur with a delivery website, but the Restaurant themselves when above and beyond to not only remake the food after it never got collected by a delivery driver, but got a staff member to hand deliver it and were very helpful through the whole situation. Definitely going to be a returning customer after this experience.

Great value tasty lunch meals served by a team who care. It was great to see the range of mocktails for something different to a soft drink or juice. The watermelon blend was refreshing and not sweet. The chicken wrap served with a side of wedges was flavourful, dipping sauce was very good, and an excellent sized serve for the price. We had about 13 on the table, and no one had a complaint. Thanks team for an enjoyable lunch.

Great Place. Im sure its popular. Just wasn't my usual restaurant. Tv screens at the table. Different for me. Maybe its the future of dinning. The food was good and I enjoyed my meal. The service was good 👍

We went back two nights in a row for the specials. Can't argue with half price and great food.

I’ve been coming here for some time, but tonight was a pretty poor experience. We had a table of four booked. We were greeted at the door by a younger guy who had no customer service skills at all. We were shown to our table, where we were seen to by a really friendly waitress, who was helpful and did everything with a smile, so that was a plus. We ordered our food, and that’s when it went really downhill. I ordered a Surf ‘n’ Turf porterhouse, which was horrible. The steak, although cooked well, had obviously not been rested, and was really tough and dry. The ‘creamy garlic sauce’ was served in a small ramekin, and resembled more of a gravy with chunks of garlic in it, rather than a white garlic sauce, and it had obviously been microwaved as it had a skin that had formed on the top. The menus we were handed had not been wiped down and were covered in grease and sticky residue from people resting their drinks on it. The stand with the table number and salt and pepper was covered in crumbs and old food. It’s the sporting globe so my expectations weren’t too high, but if it weren’t for the half price steak night, my steak would have cost $50.95, which is completely disproportionate to its quality. If you wish to charge that price, you’re going to have to do a lot better. I’ve been a member for a while now, but I won’t be racing back any time soon. The only reason this has two stars and not one is because of the nice waitress we had tending to our table.

Huge range of food and drinks available for the whole family. Service was outstanding with waitstaff constantly checking in to ensure everything was OK. Kids were entertained well. Great dining experience!

  • 4/5 justin k. 1 year ago on Google
Below average prices, for ordinary food it’s hard to come by now days, the wait staff are always friendly although at times get way too caught up with socialising with customers or even each other to be able to properly provide service, the may or may not bring you a serviette with your extraordinary l’y sticky chicken wings, not even a fork. Still not a huge knock on this place but there is space for some improvement for the bar staff, upstairs specifically

I could not believe the price of this place and the serving sizes. $50.00 for a tiny baby back rib with a tablespoon of slaw and chips. The food was okay nothing to write home about .Do yourself a favour and go to a decent pub. On the plus side the staff were fantastic

I recently tried the Aperol Spritz here, and I have to say, I was quite disappointed. The drink was not fizzy at all, and it’s very light flavored. On top of that, it was quite expensive, costing $16 not including surcharges.

Wonderful service. Lift available to get to first floor for mobility impaired. Food is excellent, coffee great too. Can be busy at times where major sporting events are on, so booking ahead is a good idea. Meals delivered to table really fast.

Staff were friendly & very pleasant. Our waitress helped us with our food selection & swapped drinks for coffee. The service was quick & our lunch order was very tasty, & we really enjoyed the pot of mustard for our chips. Prices were competitive & good value.
