Update; Nov 2023 Same great service, venue and experience Well, what a fabulous experience this was. A large group of us had a meal at the Ballarat Golf Club Bistro at 1800 Sturt St, Alfredton. I found the service at this high volume bistro just outstanding. The servers were friendly, welcoming, and prompt and all of their tasks were carried out with a smile. I had the Crispy Beef Stir-fry with a side of garlic bread. The meal was just sensational. I was also very impressed the speed from order to delivery of our meals considering the number of people we had. It looks like you can dine inside or out. The view of the golf course through the large full-length windows from the bistro adds whole other level of luxe to the dining experience. Most enjoyable. Well done team!

I recently went here with my husband and had a lovely time. The meals were fantastic and there really wasn't much of a wait for food. The waiters were friendly and helpful. They greeted us with a smile upon entry and showed us to a table. The fact that we hadn't made a booking wasn't an issue. The waited made suggestions from the menu and also had a great knowledge of all the items when we enquired about some of them. We were seen out the door with a smile. Thank you for a fantastic experience from beginning to end. An absolute pleasure, nothing was too much trouble.

Just had my youngest son's grade 6 presentation night at the golf club. Meal and service was great. Thanks for making the night extra special. Much appreciated.

Ballarat Golf Club, This is the 5th time I have visited, and I can not recommend this place highly enough if you are on holiday and looking for a game of golf. It was an easy phone call to make a booking, then the resting history. This Golf Course is a tight treelined course, with couch fairways and bent and poa greens. It is a challenging course, yet at the same time, if you are on fairways off the tee, rewards of a birdie opportunity are on the cards. The par 3 holes are of good length, which requires a good strike on the ball. The bunkers are strategically placed on the course, then you have the thick fescue rough and also protect the greens too. The driving range has undercover hitting bays, and the Chipping greens are also in very good condition. Also, nice sized putting green. The proshop is well stocked from Golf attire to drinks and pies. The facilities are fantastic, from the change rooms to restaurants are very clean. I met David, Travis, and Steve, who were working in the proshop on the weekend that I played. The guys were awesome and very welcoming. It was great to chat with them, but they were really good in trying to fit me into the competition field and with some great people. This made it a very nice experience as I met great members and made new friends. Come try and see how much of a challenge this beautiful course is. You will love this course like I do.

Well I have to say... It was just AMAZING It really is a great resturaunt and the food is yummy, I had a steak and it was delicious. The staff cook great food and the staff are absoulutely lovely. 5 stars <3

Amazing location, great views. Ample room to move and great seating. Very friendly staff and great service. It's clean and tidy. Plenty of parking too. The menu is simple, great choices. Every plate that passed the table looked delicious. I'd highly recommend the ribs.

Went here for a CFA dinner and meeting. The layout and staff were very good. 3 course meal served at breaks during the meeting all ran very well. It's a good place. Jim

26/11/23, staff were friendly, seating comfortable then the band started a test next partition. The band then kicked off about 1 hr later and was loud and ordinary which made it difficult to hear and talk. The food was average, chips that came with the veg lasagna were over cooked and tough. The lasagna was like nothing I had ever seen before, it looked more like a parmigiana. The other 3 people on our table also felt let down with the poor quality food and above average price of the meals. On booking we should have been informed about the band playing on Saturday night.

Great course and it was in stunning nick when we spent two days playing there during the week. Quite a challenge even from the forward tees and is very strategic due to big bunkers and water hazards. A Thompson/Perret design and very playable for all. On the second time around, it got a lot easier and I managed to eagle the driveable par four 16th, which made the day a memorable one. We had perfect weather, the members we played with were very kind to us as visitors and the clubhouse and facilities are top class. Pro shop staff were helpful and gave good advice. Well worth a trip if you want to experience one of the best regional Victorian tracks.

We do eat out at the golf club quite often and the meals are always great. This Saturday night we'll, it was the worst meal we have had for a long time. I won't carry on about it as there is too much to mention, all I will say is we won't be back for a long time. It will take some time to rid the taste from our mouths and to forget the I don't care attitude the staff has.

Saturday night dinner. Good selection of parma's a couple of vegetarian options, Good sizes that arrived quickly. Colouring packs made the kids happy, And friendly staff.

As seniors, my friend and I decided to have lunch at the Ballarat Golf Club as it had been highly recommended to us. We had the seniors meal which was absolutely delicious,a generous portion and great price. There is plenty of car parking and it is also in a great location, not far from Ballarat city centre.

Went last night for my birthday celebration dinner. When I got there, the waitresses was very polite. The atmosphere was very inviting. The food was 5 star quality and very affordable. Even the drinks were great. Would consider going back again and again. Very well done

The waitress was nice but I ordered the fish and chips and my fish was half raw. And the other meals in group were not of the greatest standard. We were a group of a dozen and we won't be back.

I don't think Ballarat people know how lucky they are, Great club 👏 great service 👍 great staff 👍 excellent food , You may think how do i know 😏 I have been a chef for 45 years Won 🏆 6 awards, let's not talking about me here been to Ballarat a few times trying out different places a few times tried to book in the golf club unfortunately for me as been always booked out this time i managed to get in early 😀 We'll what a surprise 😮 the best thing I have done to food 10/10 Service 10/10 prices 10/10 the staff 10/10. just excellent 👌 I can't believe people in Ballarat know what they have, to the chef 👍👏👏👏 to the rest of the staff my compliments I hope to see you guys again soon 👋🙏🙏🙏 prices just Great 👍 👌 excellent, thank you for your service great staff 😀

Fun course with lots of challenging holes. Looks great and was fun for both adults and kids.

I was here for a dinner, so the menu was set. Each course was tasty! I've been going here for a few years, I think the standard of the food has improved in that time.

Maintained above standard. All holes are interesting and enjoyable. Somewhat forgiving, within reason. Bloody cold in May!

Great course. Fairways are beautiful. Greens fast. Some water to carry and deep bunkers. Great bistro area for a beer after the game

The course is a great layout, and has the potential to eat you up. So treat it with respect. The greens are quick and honest. The whole facility is just beautiful The staff from the President to the workers on the course so very nice and helpful and do a great day. The hospitality staff are the most pleasant smiling people around, just so great. The pro shop staff go out of their way to assist Just love the place and the people. A must visit if you love golf and somthing to eat or drink after. Just the best golf club I think I have visited
