Very friendly and comfortable pub. Very good service, great food and a good selection of beers. Stayed the night in single room. Would highly recommend.

Worst night dining ever with staff care factor zero....wrong wine and wrong meals delivered ..waitress "I dunno"..was the response. I am still coming to terms with being charged fill price plus side charged for items brought out in an effort to fix their errors. Asked this to be passed on to owner but I doubt that happened. Disgusted actually. Ruined our night out

It was a pleasure to stop off at the American and meet Brendon and his team, hear about all the refurbishing and return for dinner with friends. Dinner was definitely worth the drive out of Daylesford especially the sticky date pudding. Great service! Thank you for hospitality!

The little country pub feel with some of the best food I have tasted if your in Creswick do not go anywhere else The food is delicious and the staff are so friendly

Ordered the chicken burger and the beef burger gluten free to take away. Everything was packaged up well to travel in cardboard and a paper bag. Both burgers were tasty and the chips had a yum mildly spicy seasoning. I was very happy to get a gluten free option and even happier that it was decent. The staff were happy and friendly both on the phone and when I picked up. Place seemed like a nice spot for dinner or drinks with both a cosy inside and sunny beer garden courtyard.

Highly recommend!!! Friendly service is always makes a new experience a reason to go back and we were met with smiles. We stopped after a long day picking up a motorbike and were met with beautiful service and absolutely amazing food, I can't say enough about the food! and definitely try out their own brand beer too ;)

Driving through town and dropped in for a drink and an early dinner. What a gem! A warm, comfortable, welcoming historic pub that serves great meals in a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Great service and awesome food. Was tossing up between parma and fish here and did not regret getting the parma one bit. One of the rare places that I have come across that can manage to have the underside of a parma be crispy and not soggy and a fantastic balance of cheese, sauce and flavour.

Very friendly staff and the meals were delicious. Absolutely recommend getting the chunky fries entree. Flavoured beautifully and a generous serving size.

Great pub fare! Took the guys there after work for a feed and The American didn't disappoint - the ribs were delicious and the burgers were loaded. Generous serves topped off with a good brew. A great way to end the working week

Lovely venue that is great cool refuge on a hot day. Staff were friendly. Beer was good. Lots of interesting stuff on the walls. They also had nice chilled out music playing rather that TVs on, which made the atmosphere particularly nice. Definitely will be dropping by again.

The American exceeded all expectations. We went here expecting a basic pub meal and instead got a five star dining experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the restaurant was cosy, and the lamb gyros and pepper calamari salad could not be faulted. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Did not have much expectation when I came here. Ordered the beef burger and voila. It was so yummy. The patty was crisp on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. Of course with caramelised onion and bacon. Our group enjoyed the dinner. My friend enjoyed the pork ribs. Service was good and quick. Place was spacious. Kids friendly too. Reasonably priced. Will be back if I am back to RACV goldfield again.

Brendon and staff have always been super helpful and friendly. Recently organized a big group dinner with numerous dietary restrictions. Brendon gave us a customized menu to fit our requirements and serving went smooth on the day. Food is really yummy and worth the price. good place to hang out with friends.

Always a gr8 filling feed here, gr8 management and staff following covid checking etc.... Plenty of spaced and comfortable seating in lovely ambient surrounds, local produce and wines out door seating and private rooms available. Should book tho, easy parking and access for all.
