Visited MOPA today with two kids. Booking online was easy and no wait to get in. Parking is available on street (2 hours timed) When you book, you select a session to attend. There are three available time slots to choose from for Saturdays and Sundays. MOPA is a great venue which suits kids aged 1-8 with a variety of sensory, gross motor and fine motor activities available. They also run regular activities at certain times of the day eg. Painting an actual car out the back! It's a great rainy day activity to attend to with the kids. They have baby change tables/toilets. A cafe with snacks and small meals available. It is a two storey building and only stairs available as far as I could tell, so not suitable for prams/wheelchair access to the upstairs section. Definitely would recommend this place to families with young kids.

Quite cute and nice place going there with kids. Recommendable maybe once or a couple of times if your kid is highly interested in. The program there in the room wasn't good as expected, something can be easily done at home, cut/ paste paper on the other printed paper. But then, cute and cozy place was attractive enough for my kid to stay there long enough.

I'm visiting from England and looking for places to take my grandchildren to visit. This was the best by far. Lovely welcoming and fun staff and lots of great things to do. My grandson is 2y7m and told me that he wanted to 'stay here for ever '! Great food in the cafe too

Paradise for kids young and old (and the big adult kids too). Just such a wonderfully fun and engaging space with something for everyone from climbing, to building, to creating, to open ended play at its finest. And the quiet chill out spaces are definitely appreciated for little ones who can be a bit overwhelmed by all the people and fun

Amazing place to go with kids, we went on a weekday and it was quiet, not many kids so could enjoy all the activities in peace. My 20 months old loved it, because she’s not a fan of crowded places. Painting an old car, craft activities and dancing, even I had fun! And there’s other things you can do by yourself. The girls working there are lovely! Very friendly and obviously you can see they love kids. Will deffo come back. Thank you so much MoPA team!

MoPa is an absolutely exceptional place for little ones. The staff greet with big smiles and enthusiastic energies, ensuring to take note of the children’s name while engaging. They do an amazing job at informing families on the activities happening on the day and their times. Throughout the museum there are amazing opportunities for children to explore. From identity, through role playing in the dress up area and performing on stage, to using fine motor skills in the quiet room on puzzles, to using their creative skills in painting a real car! This place has it all! Staff were constantly engaging with children throughout the museum and in activities ensuring the children were having a great time. Not only is the museum amazing but the food in the cafe is healthy for little ones, providing fruit and sandwiches! Definitely check MoPa out if you can, you will not be disappointed.

Can’t get enough of this play place! Absolutely worth visiting when you’re in Geelong or nearby :-) My toddler and us loved this place with endless variety of fun and games for kids 1-7 years old. Book in advance and it won’t disappoint. Great to know it also has so much history built in 19th century as a previous chapel turned-restaurant and now a children’s café and play place! Indoor and outdoor spaces are unconventional and not your so-ordinary toys to play with 😀

Thank-you so much to the team for an amazing 8th birthday party! Ella and her friends had the most amazing time at her hosted party. I didn't have to worry about a thing and the girls were fantastic with the kids and each child who came had an absolute ball! Thanks again guys, this is a party Ella will remember forever ❤

My daughter had her 6th birthday party at MOPA today! The whole experience was incredible, If I could give it 6 stars I would. The communication leading up to the event was very professional and clear. The party host Rosie was so friendly and very organised keeping the party flowing with lots of activities for the kids. The theme of the party was Bunny art party and they made such a great effort to include the theme in the craft. They tailored the dance party to include some of her fav songs and the car painting also had her name on it too. They also included the cupcakes as part of the package which meant I didn't have to worry about cake, and the party bags were very cool. Honestly I’m speechless, all the kids had the best time too! Best PARTY ever!! Thank you to Rosie and the team, we are coming back for my sons birthday later in the year 💕🎉🙌

Highly recommend here - what a great concept! Don't be silly like me and not pre-book tickets (thankfully the lovely staff were very accommodating). Each session that you book for contains activities which kids can attend if they wish, otherwise there's lots to explore despite the small building. Only thing which is a real shame is that there is no lift to the second floor, so not accessible for those who need it. Regardless, my 3yo daughter enjoyed her visit very much!

Great creative play for young minds. It's better suited for under 6's as most activities are kept simpler. Loved the car painting! Food and coffee is fresh and tasty and all the staff are super friendly.

A must visit in Geelong when you have kids under 10! Plenty of things to do but we would recommend coming from around 10 or 11 am as they have some activities like painting the car and story telling at scheduled times. Place felt clean and staff are friendly.

  • 4/5 Priyanka P. 3 years ago on Google
If you have a toddler age between 3-8 then this is a must visit place. It has a time slot between 2-3 hours check their website. But every minute is worth it and they run few activities during that time which kids love. If not then there is always a free play. It has a cafe so parents can order coffee for themselves some food options such as fruit cups, cakes, cup cakes, sandwiches and rolls. Children of all ages would enjoy. There is also a reading corner which is quiet and can have older kids sit and read books. Although please carry your own book.

This place is really an indoor play centre. It's very well set up with creative activities and installations. We brought our 8 year old who really enjoyed themselves. The little food cafe is simple but makes excellent coffee and banana bread. Staff are as all other review very friendly and welcoming. The music is quite loud. Trashy pop. Street parking was free on Sunday but otherwise might be hard to find a park.

A family member recommended we check this place out a few weeks back. We've been to this place multiple times, as the kids love it, and we look forward to going back again very soon. Excellent customer service. Great coffee and snacks. And also a perfect space for kids to unleash their creativity. I highly recommended this place for families with young children.

This place is amazing and kept a 4.5 year old and a 2.5 year old amused for over 2 hours. Fun and creative activities for the kids to do and lots of seating for parents to stay close by and engaged with their kids. Staff are really friendly and the space is immaculately designed and kept absolutely spotless. Will definitely be back, such a great addition to Geelong.

Beautiful place where children play, interact and create art. The Cafe has a good selection of healthy food. The coffee and tea is always perfect, they even have chai tea leaves instead of just the instant late powder. 100% recommend for children under the age of eight.

  • 5/5 Kim E. 4 years ago on Google
Amazing place for young kids! Such a great way to introduce art and design through play. One of our highlights was painting a real VW Beetle! My kids had so much fun, we will definitely be back!

  • 5/5 Sharon C. 4 years ago on Google
So much to do at the amazing Museum of Play and Art!!! From buildings you could climb through and peep out the windows, the mirrored blocks, the foam blocks, taking of your shoes and socks and painting the car sitting in the yard! And that’s just downstairs - definitely going to have to go back!

  • 4/5 Lavina H. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely place. Not overly large but the space is well utilised with plenty to do. The staff are great with the kids and very friendly. The extra structure with story time/dance party etc is a great way to keep the flow going. My only criticism is it would be good for the staff to advise people in the welcome speech about the quiet room as I only found halfway through our time there but it's a great space for when my kiddos need a break.

  • 5/5 Eddy H. 2 years ago on Google
First visit to this type of museum. Very interesting place but it is not for all age activities. Prob it is for below 10 yo stuffs. Anyway, its still exciting to see how they organise the activities. Also, they provide scheduled activities such as painting the car, making arts and dancing. Also it has small cafe inside. Didnt buy anything, but i assume they charge accordingly. Restrooms are very clean. Very interesting place and very recommended place to keep the little one occupied.

Our boy had the BEST time today at MoPA. The staff we so friendly from the moment we walked in, showing us where to go and what activities were on at certain times. The toddler area was fabulous for him to gain confidence in, before we got to explore the rest of the amazing space. He especially like the dance party and car ramps. We cant wait to come back on a nice sunny day to utilise the outdoor area and do some car painting!! I just wish this had been here when I was a kid!! Thank you staff at MoPA!

  • 5/5 Maria J. 1 year ago on Google
Great place for a family outing! The staff is super helpful and friendly. There is so much to do including the scheduled activities (car painting, storytelling and dancing). We will be back soon 😀

  • 5/5 S L. 2 years ago on Google
Such a fun play-centric child entertainment centre. The program (see photo) is expertly timed to allow parents/care-givers to usher their child around the venue to experience all the offerings in between. The staff were all friendly, polite and helpful. They were in a uniform (black tops) and had name tags and a smile on their dials! The food was moderately well-priced, including some interesting kid sized lunch packs and bites. They make jaffles too, but I wasn't able to easily find these on their menu. Just ask. My daughter is 2 yo and enjoyed all aspects of MoPA. In particular, the car painting was a highlight. But she wore some really delicate clothes which weren't ideal! I recommend attending the first session of the day (so the art smocks provided are dry), dressing kids in 'play' quality clothes (something you might send them to daycare in) and also being mindful of what you wear (as care-givers are allowed in the painting area to supervise but don't also get a smock!). I would highly recommend MoPA to all ages but they cater well children in the pre-school and also early school years as we saw some very happy birthday party groups as well!

Going into a session at Mopa I really had no idea or expectations of what it was or if it would really be something my kids were into. I have to say I was so pleasantly surprised with just how cool, calm and fun this place was. It had a really calm energy but also very exciting for the kids to explore. Staff were unbelievably kind, helpful and lovely to say the least! Lots to do so we didn’t get through everything which means we will definitely be returning with some friends next time. Thanks guys what a cool space you have created for kids to explore and be creative at the same time. Super impressive

Fantastic on a rainy day. Two hour session with timed activities was perfect for my 3yo. We loved the disco at the end. Huge open space with outdoor area too. Just be aware you aren't allowed your own packed lunch inside. Another drawback is no parking onsite, but we were able to find a free 2 hour park in a side street around the back. Highly recommend.

  • 5/5 Katelyn M. 10 months ago on Google
Never fails to deliver- the venue is clean, it flows logically and activities for children are centred around them and very engaging. Staff are friendly, helpful and encouraging. The cafe on site is also child centric with an array of food they’ll actually eat and also caters for a variety of dietary requirements. The bang for buck is great! We travel a distance to come to MoPA and will do again and again - kudos to you all!

Quite literally paradise for kids. We’ve done many indoor play fun with our three year old and MoPa tops the lot based in price and experience. Where do you start? That was the conundrum my son faced. He managed to squeeze in everything on offer (outside of the dance party when tiredness finally kicked in) but based on the videos of himself he has since watched it seems painting the car, the suction ball marble run and MoPa city were his favourites. Honestly this was one of the highlights of his trip and, given we only went there as a stop on the way to Phillip Island, it was an unexpected delight. Coffee the only letdown

  • 5/5 Jenny C. 8 months ago on Google
You definitely want to arrive on time for your session to make FULL use of the two hours, because it will not be enough! My kids aged 4, 6 and 8 all loved it, especially the water run, zoom room, and interactive colouring screens. Staff is amazingly helpful and friendly, I was there alone with three kids all spread out and they helped me keep an eye on them. We were lucky to find street parking right in front of the museum, but when it gets busy parking might be tricky. Cafe selection is very small and pricey, but kids will probably be too busy playing to eat anyway.

Oh my goodness, what a place! Next level awesome for kids fun time... Great location for adults and kids alike. (hard to take photos without kids, and makes it look strange... But you get the idea) Sensory magic everywhere - well designed safety conscience space - large variety of activities to suit different interests (and ages) - indoor and outdoor adventure - great use of a beautiful old building Seriously considering the membership, even though we live in Melbourne over an hour away. It was just so great! Thank you, we will be back!

Ideal place for spending healthy time with your children. Strategically designed to suit children of all ages. Highly educational and great fun. We will be back again for sure.

Great place to let your little ones have fun for an hour or two over a few play areas. Paint play, water play, story time, and dancing. Recommend

  • 5/5 Zoe C. 4 years ago on Google
The staff were so helpful and friendly, the experience was fantastic and the kids had a blast and didn't want to leave. It was also nice and cool even though it was 40 degrees and there was heaps to do. And loved watching team members walk around cleaning, you don't usually see that at a play place unless its to clean tables! The price was great too! Thanks for the great afternoon!

  • 5/5 Michelle M. 3 years ago on Google
Great place to bring the kids. Plenty of hands on play and learning opportunities. Unique play ideas, definitely keeps them entertained for the whole session! Would recommend that it's best for kids between 3-11 but plenty of things for the littlies to to too and even older kids. It's pretty loud, so not great if you're after somewhere to relax while the kids play and you do have to supervise them a little more actively than at an ordinary play centre. But it is well worth the money and there is a little kiosk in there where you can get snacks, some lunch options and hot drinks. This place is a great addition to the kid scene in Geelong and definitely worth a visit in the school holidays.

MoPA is child-centered. From the moment little kids enter the door, the friendly staff are on their knees to connect with them. MoPAs well-researched design equates to happy play spaces for kids. Important learning happens through play. Thank you MoPA! The cafe is lovely too.

This weekend was my first time visiting MOPA & it was incredible we were greeted at the front door with such a beautiful welcome they made our little one Vinnie feel right at home. He is 16months old and there was a a great area for him to use to explore & climb for under twos which was amazing as he was also able to use all areas in the museum he built up his confidence very quickly we had so much fun exploring the museum it was amazing to see the effort that goes into the incredible play spaces!! It was sooo fun for mum and dad also with interactive Spaces & plenty of photo opportunities , our little one Vinnie had the best time !!! The staff were so lovely were even interacting with little Vinnie making him laugh encouraging him to give painting a go playing peek a boo ! But it was also very clean !!! Loved every magical moment of our visit to MoPA! It is filled with lots of interactive experiences and we spent a happy morning jumping, laughing, dancing and playing. We also really loved the educational connection as the kids explored art and play through all their senses. The team were passionate and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Can't wait for our next visit!

This place is great. My two year old loved it. So many different little spaces to explore. I was really impressed by the staff, they were really friendly and happily engaged with the kids. Help!! I can’t get my kids to leave without bribing them with lolly pops! Is that bad parenting? We always have to stay all day, luckily I can nap in the quiet room or drink copious amounts of awesome coffee whilst the amazing staff have a dance party with the kids. Wait, is that bad parenting too?!

  • 5/5 Sharna H. 3 years ago on Google
My 15 month old and 3 year old had the absolute best time! The staff were absolutely amazing, the car outside to paint was my toddlers favourite and the dance party at the end. Will absolutely be back.

Do not miss out on attending the MoPA - you will not be disappointed! From the minute we entered we were made to fell welcome and my daughter was made to feel so special on her birthday - she didn't want to leave! Great for my one year old as well who was in awe as soon as we walked in - and I was happy knowing he was safe and having the time of his life! Staff are so incredible and nothing was too much. Definitely recommend the party options as an extra.. it was so much fun. The kids had an amazing time learning and playing at the same time and there was always something extra to discover. Thanks for the incredible time MoPA!!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE MOPA! Such a great way to immerse lil ones in art and encourage child-directed play in a clean and friendly environment. There is also a cafe inside.

  • 5/5 Erin U. 4 years ago on Google
MOPA was a blast! Great cafe with a mix of treats and healthy food. The coffee was great! Kids have endless stations to chose from and even though there was a Kidner group in there today, it didn't feel too over crowded. Our boys loved playing with the cars up stairs. There are great facilities for mums with babies and excellent zones for the babies to play in. We will definitely be back. Personally, I think it was a really fair price for entry. Thanks for an awesome time.

Absolutely loved our first time visiting MoPA a few weeks ago! My little really enjoyed herself - looking at and interacting with everything - even things I thought may have been a bit above her age group! A nice big open safe space for little ones to enjoy themselves - and for mums (and dads) to be able to join in on the fun or observe their little ones have fun (whilst having great coffee), what more can you ask for in a play space! I also love that they do sessions - so you know you won't turn up on a day that is ridiculously packed like other places can be. We will definitely be back.

I went along to the museum today I had brought a long with me a 14 year old and a 10 year old and a 7 year old and a 1 year old although I do think the place looks amazing I don't think I brought along the age group that would find this place interesting I think this place is best suited for kids at aged 2 to 5 the kids that I brought along got bored within 40 minutes and it was time to leave my 1 year old was happy running around but I think she was also a bit young I don't think it's fair that parents need to pay to get into this place because there isn't much there for parents it would be perfect for Kinder age kids the place is quite small and overpriced but it is a really cool place but like I said it's best suited to kinder age kids also out the back end there are some brick steps they need to be covered in something soft for the safety of the children my one year old was running along and tripped on something and hit her head on the brick steps out the back she is perfectly fine just a small bump on your head it's just a suggestion

Our 3 year old loved our visit here. Lots of areas and activities for her to engage with, and the staff are great at joining in the play with the children, very interactive. I also love their philosophy of play which links to ACECQA (as a mum and an ECT I appreciated this!) The timed sessions are great because it meant it wasnt packed, and a very clean and inviting space.

Our two year old LOVED it here, and so did we. Friendly staff to welcome you is just the beginning of a well thought out, well executed experience for little ones. This is a perfect place foe adventurous toddlers. All areas are safe and inclusive for little ones to play and explore. We especially loved the live music and dancing offered up by the staff. A wonderful experience and we cannot wait to return.

As soon as the kids walked through the arch of rainbow streamers, they were in heaven, with smiles that didn’t diminish for the whole time they were there. The staff were attentive and friendly, with a very clean and organized environment. It’s not so big that shy kids would feel intimidated but there’s plenty there to entertain everyone. The particular highlights for us were the dance party, dress ups and room to run around.

  • 5/5 Natalie B. 3 years ago on Google
We had a fantastic time here today. All the staff were friendly and eager to interact with the kids. The set up was beautiful and made it easy for the kids to engage in play. The cleanliness of the museum was brilliant too, with lots of hand sanitizer around and staff cleaning areas as needed. Can't wait to return for some more fun!
