Absolutely love going to this beach with the pups. Dogs need to be leashed but I took it off for this photograph as it was such a good shot of Romeo. We love a cold day down here. Not a lot of people and secluded . Summer it fires right up as most beaches do and still has a great vibe .

It's a relatively narrow beach shielded by the vegetated bluff. The water off the beach is deep and the sand it quite coarse. I wouldn't recommend it for families with kids. It's also not ideal to be barefoot due to all the rocks in the beach. There are certainly better beaches in Melbourne. It's nice to go for a stroll along the coastal trail though.

The cliffs along Black Rock beach offers some fantastic ocean walking paths. They transport you quickly away from the humdrum of the suburbs to the heart of the ocean. But the evenings bring spectacular sunsets, especially in summer. When we visited there was also a plague of puffer fish, some of which tried their hand at surfing (see attached video). If you are stealthy, you’ll also see the lairs of trapdoor spiders. All in all, a lot to be seen…all you have to do is look carefully! Attenborough-like!

Lovely walk with some great views. Dogs are required on leash for the most part and its beautiful place to go running. There's a small hut for picnics and benches along the way. There's a few rock pools to explore when the tide is out and plenty bird wildlife on the offshore rocks. A great place for a morning stroll.

The beach air was so fresh,the kids are safe when they in the sand...I ,myself put on my sunny and walking in the water to look for mussels. There're plenty of em.so after about 2hours we head home for mussels steamed eat with lemon mix with 🧂 salt so yummy.we goanna go again soon.

Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, sandals or walk barefooted on the sand. Black rock cliff is good.

The tide was low the afternoon I went and you could see the clear water and the beautiful horizon. The conditions were ideal for paddle boarding and kayaking. There is a lovely playground nearby and yummy gelato shops.

You get a great view of some amazing sunsets here.

Quite a rocky beach as the name implies. Not a lot of shade, bring an umbrella of some sort.

Great experience in a thick foggy day in the Black Rock beach.

I spend great time with my family,It is sandy, just like its counterpart to the South and is a safe beach with plenty of shallow water and a food shop nearby.

If you are looking for a awesome spot to catch up the sunset, black rock is the right place to do it. Also it's a large and clean beach, easy to get there with public transport and there's a lot of carpark spot around the area. Another great aspect of this suburb is that if you are hungry you can always stop to have a coffee and a meal on the many amazing shops around the area. In other words, Black rock beach it's great place. Enjoy!

It's a very narrow beach but so lovely, as you won't have many people around you. Not waves, so you can float around in the water, only bad thing is the rocks at the bottom but hence the name 😜
