This is a hidden neighborhood gem. From the street it looked closed but once you walk in, it's a very lively place where you can have a tasty lunch and catch a sports game. The actual mussles were nice and meaty and the service was prompt and friendly. For my order, I added shrimp. For the $5 upgrade, I literally had 5 pieces of meduim-sized shrimp. But overall, I was well-pleased with the mussels and the variety on the menu.

Amazing! So glad my favorite restaurant in DC is back after the pandemic. Quality is just as great: tasty food and great Belgium beer selection! PS: bathrooms got remo'ed and they're spacious and clean. Paul will give you all the Belgium beer info you need.

This place, just wow! I got excited when I saw the beer and Mussel selection- but to sit at the bar and get treated like a regular by Kat was the out of this world experience we long for in a neighborhood spot when we travel. We got here right when happy hour started and I can’t say I’ve ever been to a more fruitful happy hour for the value and quality. Highly recommend everything about this place!

An absolute must if you are in DC and love mussels. I’ve been here 3 times and it honestly never gets old. The space is very small but it makes it more intimate and adds to the great vibe.

St. Arnolds is an institution. The mussel pots are amazing. Duck fat or Thai curry, you cannot go wrong. Oh yeah. And the fries - Whew

St. Arnold’s is one of my top five favorite restaurants in the DMV. Its cozy and warm in the Fall/Winter and cool and relaxing in the Spring/Summer. Their selection of Belgian and German beer is excellent with my favorite being the Schöfferhoffer Grapefruit Hefeweizen on tap. Their claim to fame is mussel pots and they’re the absolute best in the DMV. Full of flavor and always fresh. I recommend the Mussels St. Arnold, Eastern Shore Mussels, and Spicy Italian Mussels. The tasty broth is the perfect match for the bread and frites. Their chicken tenders are excellent as well. If you still have any room (not likely at this point), then the waffles are a must. Slathered with Nutella you’ll think you’re sitting in Brussels. The service is always friendly and welcoming. Lorraine is an excellent bartender and recommended the perfect beer for my spouse. St. Arnold’s isn’t just a neighborhood bar, but the perfect place for a date, birthday dinner, or even just a casual evening with a liter and a book. Give them a try, you’ll be back for seconds, thirds, and many more. I guarantee it.

We came here for fathers day me wife reserved a table for us late at night. These were the best mussels I’ve had and the fries were smacking too. I got the house special mussels which were to die for. Kat was our server and was absolutely amazing all night and was fun to talk to, and extremely quick. Would 110% ask for her again to wait on us. The bees knees drink was definitely my go to as well. Overall so excited to come back down to visit here one of my favorite restaurants for sure.

Awesome little pub. Very busy, beer was great.. Wish they had a few more German food items? But other than that, the place was great and would go back definitely.. Can definitely tell it's a local place..

What a fantastic venue! Kat is an amazing hostess and everything I've ever gotten here is delightful - one of our regulars for sure. It is a bit pricey if you don't make happy hour, but great for a nice get-together with the guys once in a while.

My group of 4 went to St Arnold's for a few round of drinks. Our server was super friendly, and the first round of drinks ($16 bottle of wine + a $12 Belgian beer) was very reasonably priced. We then decided to order another round - 2 double whiskeys with ginger, a double Hendricks with a mixer, and a Moscow mule I think. When we closed the tab, we saw that we were charged $17 per shot of Makers / Hendricks! Our doubles were $34 each, and our total for that round was around $127 BEFORE tax and tip. I'm used to paying DC prices but this was absolutely shocking. Especially given that cocktails were listed as $12 on the menu. No issues with the service/atmosphere but something is off with that pricing.

Had been waiting to come here since they reopened and it did not disappoint. Plan to come back and try all the mussels on the menu. Had no idea it came with fries and bread! Which is the BEST so you can soak up all the delicious broth. Shout out to my man Jim who took such amazing care of us. Great selection of beers on tap. We got the pear arugula salad with chicken, Thai curry mussels, and the wheat beer. All 10 outta 10. Can't wait to visit again.

Great apps and main course. I had the Thai Basil Curry pictured here with linguine and my friend had the Aron’s Original and the Voda Cream Sauce mussels! All were very good. Service was prompt and the value was worth the price! Try them out and I know you won’t be disappointed!

I had a craving for mussels and frites for well over a year and finally had the chance to sate it. I couldn't have chosen a better place. Everything was delicious and there are so many more types available. This is definitely going to be a regular spot for me.

Don't usually review places but had such a nice evening that I felt like I should leave a note. I was in town for work and looking for somewhere to just relax for a bit. The Belgian beer selection, mussels (I had the St Arnold's), and very friendly bartender Jim were all fantastic. A fantastic place to chill for the evening.

An interesting bar, smaller than others but enjoyable. The service (bartenders) were really nice! I asked for a beer recommendation and got the best choice! (We watched the final match of the Liga MX, the Mexican Championship) and we liked the place. Thank you!

Fantastic mussels and a great Belgian beer selection. When you see Straffe Hendrik on tap, you know it’s a great place. The original St Arnold’s mussels were delicious with great broth for dipping your bread. The frites were perfect and included mayo for dipping. Thanks to our super friendly bartender! Sad I didn’t get her name, but she was great! Bonus…friendly patrons at the bar with us. Overall great experience and highly recommend if you love Belgian beers and/or mussels and frites.

St Arnold’s is extremely consistent. We go here often on Monday evenings for Trivia. The food is overall really good, and the service is really lovely with a kind staff. I do get frustrated about the amount of money I have spent when leaving. The beers are mostly really pricey as is the food. I feel the price point should be a bit lower for the atmosphere to match (more bar/pub).

Very nice and cozy place! Would recommend mussels and onion soup! And of course, there is variety of good beer!

Had a great tasting steak and frites the other night and the mozzarella sticks were handmade and off the charts.

Best mussels in DC, and a "must visit" if you're here and like mussels. They come in a big pot with fries and the broth they cook them in. I've only ever been pre-covid and it's back open.

I really like this place and am super happy they reopened. The food is good, the staff is great and the cozy vibes are much needed in an area drowning in hyped up terrible places. Love it when I hit an off time and there's only a few people but I heard the new trivia night on Monday is very busy and definitely want to check it out. Give it a chance and you won't be disappointed, especially if you like mussels and good Belgium beer (rodenbach on tap)!!!

Haven't been here in 5 years and was so happy to see it still open and as great as I remember! If you are a fan of mussels this is a must and if you're not this place might just change your mind. Fantastic food and great beers, I highly recommend trying it out.

Too bad that this place was closed for the past two years, I wish I knew it earlier. Draft beer is great here with lots of variety, and it’s open up until very late. Perfect for late night chilling.

Oh how I have missed you all at St. Arnold's. Great deals, great food, excellent customer service. Favorite place to relax and grab a drink after work in D.C. I'd pay just to sip the broth that the mussels come in, that good. Thank you all for always treating your customers with respect. Will be back tomorrow!! :)

After being closed because of the pandemic, St. Arnold's has returned in full force. Freshly remodeled, the place still has its same original charm. They have plenty of European beers on tap that come in 3 different sizes as well as imports in bottles and cans. If u make it there in time try the mussels of course, if not stay for the hospitality. Lorraine is usually behind the bar, and she is an amazing hostess and bartender.

The food is mediocre at best. Had steak and frites and the steak was over done and seasoned. The frites are just basically frozen French fries you’d get at a dive bar. Go to Granville Moore’s for the real thing.
