A gorgeous scenic walking and hiking trail especially on a sunny day. They are colour coded with map showing the routes. The diamond trail (red) hike can be challenging for beginners so plan ahead, keep hydrated and give yourself time. It starts after the (yellow) trail. There are other wonderful trails for families with young ones like an intermediate (blue) and an easy (green) trail as well. Amazing free public facilities. Trails are well maintained. Coming up we saw a white pony and a horse inside the enclosure that the young ones are allowed to feed (mostly bread). The nature trail (green) has wonderful waterfall and creeks that was so tempting to just jump into but alas, we didn't bring a spare change of clothes or swim suit. Worth it.

Very enjoyable, easy hiking area. 3 routes marked out. Stunning views from summit of Diamond Hill on a good day. Nicely laid out cafe/picnic area. Free parking. Gets very busy in high season.

Beautiful place, but you must have a car if you want to visit many places (diamond hill, dog bay, sky road ...). Note: road is limited to 100km/h but if you want to reach it do it at your own risk :)

Diamond Hill hike is so pretty. A good path all the way around. Anyone would manage it once you're physically able. Aprox 2 hours. Save time for photos at the top. So beautiful.

My lord, this is a very pretty park and a wonderful hike. Would recommend you make the effort to hike up to the actual β€˜summit’ - its worth it. But make sure to bring a jacket. If you would want to invest less time walking, all routes are beautiful and worth your while. Park is populated with deer, goats, sheep, hares and horses. Some roam wild some are fenced, cool sight either way.

Breath taking view. Different trek paths are there. Unfortunately went on a cloudy day but still the view was amazing. Took the blue trial because of time constraint. But definitely worth taking the longer route.

We did the red loop on Diamond Hill. A perfect hike honestly. Moderate for a moderately fit person. The man made path and steps make it safe and doable for many. The last 300 feet of elevation gain is challenging but worth it. The path down is separate and easy so use your energy on the climb! It’s an easy way down!

Quite the experience to hike this black diamond hill! The views are spectacular. Wear the right clothes and shoes if you intend to do the whole trail. It's quite blustery atop! You can see Kylemore Abbey below and the beautiful landscape. It rained on and off when we hiked it and still was breathtaking!

Great National park that we wished we could have spent more time hiking in. Several trail options to allow different levels of fitness to explore the area. Some may find the climbing of the stone steps troublesome as there is no handrails but in my opinion most would be fine by taking their time.

Beautiful park with views of the sea. 3 looped trails, from easy to difficult. Just did the small yellow loop, a bit steep for my mother who wears a brace..wouldn't recommend for people with mobility issues as there's no hand rail. Staff were really helpful.

Amazing walk up diamond hill. Amazing views. The visitor centre is closed due to the pandemic. But we were able to get coffee here. I have to mention the vast numbers of mosquitos to be found on the pathways, please use repellent as there are just do many

Great park with a few different trails to suit different people. There are some amazing views at the top. We were lucky enough to see some rams up there too. There is some interesting things to see in the visitor centre too. Parking is fine and there is a small cafe on site.

Beautiful hikes, provided you catch good weather! There is nowhere to hide if it rains. There are 3 routes available, we did the blue one which is an hour and you get a nice view of the lakes. Highly recommend since the views are magical, and the drive to the park is beautiful!

An incredibly beautiful park with beautiful natural, majestic mountains, heather fields. Here you can climb mountains. There are three routes: easy, medium and difficult. But I want to say that each route will give you the brightest moments and incredible emotions

Stunningly beautiful. About an hour and a half West of Galway city takes you to some of the most scenic and historic landscapes you can see in Ireland. First there’s the drive out here where you see the topology and views changing by the kilometre. Once you get to the visitors centre you can mill around there or go on one of the trails of varying difficulty. None are too long and are designed not to be a hike and more to soak in the atmosphere.

We visited last week and the views did not disappoint. I highly recommend renting a car if you’re able to as it gives you so much more freedom to explore and there are many pull offs to snap pics as well.

One of the best hikes in Ireland. The park itself has free parking at Diamond Hill. The path to the top is almost entirely on stone steps with a few spots of dirt or exposed rock. Not super hard, as I saw older folks in tennis shoes at the top. The largest loop on Diamond Hill took about 3 hours tops.

It's a fairly challenging climb when taking the red route during the rains and wind... but it's worth the view. Make sure you have good footwear for the walk. It's dog friendly and permitted to go with them to the top. The park is well maintained... has toilets, visitors' centre, refreshments, and ample free parking. Takes around 3 to 4 hours with breaks

We had a fantastic time in the park. We were dropped of at Diamond Hill and hiked all of the blue and red route. We had pretty much every season doing so from sunny and fairly warm to foggy and moody, threatening rain and even a snow storm at the peak and on the way down. Views were fantastic and it took us about 3h to finish it all with short breaks in between. Can definitely recommend it, it's a beautiful part of the country.

Amazing, stunning! All the employees are so friendly! Good structure with cleaned toilets. The park has a stunning view from the Bay and Mountains.

One of the most beautiful places on this planet a must see when you visit Ireland. Fantastic drive with a beautiful views. If you're lucky with the weather you will never forget this place. National Park Centre is a good place to start, there is a big parking lot, little restaurant .

For a mostly barren land, the Connemara national park has its own strange beauty. In the middle of the park, when you are the only human far and wide you can't hear anything, but wind and water (and maybe a sheep baa-ing). It filled me with a strange nostalgia as if I had been there before.

A great, relatively-hidden tourist attraction in Galway. The scenery is great from the foot to the summit of Diamond Hill. The climb is relatively managable for hikers and tourists without much experience (but companionship is still recommended). Just follow the designated paths, and routes carved out by previous hikers and you'll be up on Diamond Hill in no time.

Beautiful hikes. Unfortunately we were only able to do the shorter hike (yellow route) because we arrived after park office had closed and it was getting late. We had great views nonetheless. Go to the bathroom before you get there if arriving when park office is closed as bathrooms are locked promptly by 530 pm. Here are some pics and views around 630 pm in July on a cloudy day. Still spectacular!

Amazing scenery!!! Very majestic mountains, lakes and little islands. It looks amazing even from car. We have stopped to take some photos :)

I think climbing Diamond Hill was the highlight of my trip to Ireland. The hike was moderate with sunning views all the way up and down. It is a 360 degree view at the top. It is rocky and exposed but I always felt safe. It is a loop at the top with the descent gentle and easy.

Lovely park with small playground and lots of walking trails. If you like mountains with the breathtaking views, you have to come here

Walked the Diamond Hill trail which is really well laid out. The views from the top are breathtaking, well worth the climb.

This is an amazing place. The scenery is stunning and the hike was well directed so you couldn't go wrong. I love that there are several trails, all well marked and that the signs are clear about their difficulty level and estimated time to complete. The visitors centre also has a cafe ready for tired hikers to recharge. Bonus is the parking is free. A wonderful afternoon adventure!!!!

Diamond hills hike is a must when going to county Mayo. The view is gorgeous and the path very well indicated. Big plus to have an EV charger on the car park ! We left the car charging while doing the hike and we were good to drive back to Dublin !
