I can now understand the bad reviews. Being local, we thought we’d give it a go, instead of going to our usual takeaway. First impressions? Screeching kid all over the shop, sticky tables, no patronage. I thought it’s a rainy day let’s give them the benefit of the doubt. Took a while for the food to get ready but, again, benefit of the doubt. Ordered two “meals”, at the non negligible cost of £28.90. Went home to see the quantity in the attached photos. A kid’s meal at its best. Called to ask if they had got mixed up with children’s meals, and they said come over for a refund. The girl was apologetic. The man, NOT. He asked me “how much meat I want”, “because you’re fat” “and you want a kilo of salami for £15”. Excellent customer service. My partner suggested reporting him for abuse but I don’t have time to waste. What could have been a local, go to, proved the reviews right, and beyond. P.S. the salad in the box was the total for two “meals”. I did get the refund from the girl. Feel for them if they’re related to the male proprietor.

I have been told the order would be ready in maximum 30 minutes, the delivery got lost for about 1h30min. The female on reception rude, no apologies and hang up on me. I would not recommend it for a takeaway. (They have been provided with full address and post code)

Recently reopened under new ownership. Coffee and food is delicious and obviously made with care.

This was a delicious experience, 5 of us ordered the set meal for 4 plus extras. The stand out for me was the delicious grilled meats, the vine leaves were the best I'd ever had and the baklava was so perfect at the end. We ordered far too much food but it was so delicious we tried to eat it all! We took home anything we couldn't eat. The service was fantastic and the chef came out to see if we liked our food which was really nice. 💯 Would recommend and come again!

Called in for a quick lunch, service was excellent and food was the same. I had bacon cheeseburger and decided tohave fully loaded wedges as a side. To be honest side was big enough for a main. Would recommend it to anyone even my son who is pretty fussy was very impressed.

Delicious food, perfect music, really caring people and low price. We've been having breakfast for 2 days now and every new meal we order is just a 10. Absolutely would go again!

Very friendly local cafe, with great breakfast and lunch options. The French toast was fantastic! Taking covid restrictions in their stride and still making you feel really welcome. Definitely recommend.

Kookies is a great place to eat. The food is of an excellent standard. There is more than enough on the plate. The staff are the most friendly people in any café. I would give the family run cafe at least an 8 to 10 star 🌟 rating

Have to say I wasn’t impressed at all! My mum got the mince pie and chips and it tasted funny and completely dried out! She’s been being sick all day. My sausages tasted cheap and really processed!! My champ there was big chunks of raw scallion and the gravy tasted like water! I asked for some sautéed onions for my sausage and mash and they brought me out a spoonful of raw onion in a we tiny mayonnaise pot. My daughter got the roast beef dinner with Yorkshire pudding but without the Yorkshire? We had to ask for it, and it came out to us blond and not cooked very well. And her roast potatoes were hard..... And to top it all off my mum gave £40 to pay and it came to £28 and the guy only gave her change of £30. So when he walked past us we were about to stay to him and he turned round and said “oh you gave me £40 didn’t you” he went and grabbed a tenner which he hadn’t even put in the till it was sitting beside it on its own as if he knew exactly what he was doing. It was way to obvious! Gutted we wasted £30 in this place and the food was terrible. And the staff even worse. Never ever ever again!

Food is great and delicious, you need to try the iraqi kebab from sheep meet and how it’s melting in the mouth 🫠🤤 Also the service is Great and the servers keep asking you if you need anything And try the iraqi tea please 🫖☕️

Amazing food, friendly and welcoming staff. Myself and my boyfriend get food here every week either to sit in or takeaway. We wouldn't even consider going anywhere else for our weekend fry. Would highly recommend

We got food delivered via just eat app, the food quality was too good and it was really delicious . The food had authentic taste and was flavourful. Bread was good usually some shops they would replace with tortillas but what they gave handmade and that brings the authentic flavour😋

We popped in for lunch yesterday and enjoyed delicious homemade lentil soup, a falafel wrap, a lamb shawarma wrap and some flaky, sweet baklava. There was a little bit of a wait for the bread to be made for the wraps - totally worth it! We'll be returning soon for a meze dinner, can't wait. Highly recommended.

Everything is good. Food and taste. Slightly work needs to be done on the chicken which gets extra burned. And the skin on top becomes black. And the should always give sauces with it. As it’s dry. And the bread which was given with it was cold. So the things are small but can be noticed and fixed.
