A great spot in Primrose Hill for a weekend lunch away from the busyness of Regent's Park Road. The Princess of Wales has all the essentials of a good neighbourhood pub including garden BBQs, three floors, outdoor terrace sitting twenty and friendly staff. The food menu is extensive with mains, sandwiches, pizza and salads. The dishes are a notch-up from regular pub food with red wine slow braised beef cheek and black truffle gnocchi leading the pack.

🚇 Chalk Farm 🍺 £6.00 Moretti ❤️ A welcoming Victorian Gastro. . Located on a quiet crossroads in Primrose Hill, you’ll find The Princess of Wales. Chalk Farm Tube is a pleasurable five minute walk away. . This pub was built mid 19th Century and gain’s its name from the wife of Edward VII not Lady Di as I had first thought. This pub used to have three entrances and four bars in its boozer heyday. As the wet trade declined this pub was in prime Gastro territory and was refurbished back 2012, the results of which are very easy on the eye. . The ground floor main bar has an elegant island servery at its core. This traditional Victorian pub has high ceilings and windows which makes this pub feel spacious even though it is quite cosy. There is a dining/ function room upstairs and downstairs there is a walled beer garden. Back in 2011, mysteriously overnight a Lion and a girl holding a ballon appeared on the wall in the garden, was it Banksy? Who knows, but it does look cool. . The beer choice is full of mainstream favourites with a bit of craft and one cask option thrown in for good measure. My beer choice was Moretti, it was a good pint and average price. The food is elevated British pub grub, wood fired pizzas and some international morsels, Fish & Chips costs £15.50. This pub is part of the @city_stack collection of London pubs, so if you want a £10 discount here of a minimum £20 spend, head over to their insta or check link in my bio. . The atmosphere on this Saturday afternoon was relaxed and convivial. The pub was busy and had a 50/50 split of diners and drinkers which was nice to see. The service was great, the barman was attentive and nice natured. . The @princessofwalespub was an enjoyable visit, even though its a gastro it’s a good place to come for a drink as well as food, well worth a visit people. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 10/12/22 . #pub #beer #beerstagram #pint #pubs #instapub #pubsofinstagram #pubsoflondon #boozer #ale #publichouse #craftbeer #lager #publife #pubsign #londonpubs #londonlife #pubcrawl #beertime #londonpub #beertography #nw1 #primrosehill #moretti #camden #chalkfarm #christmas #gastropub #citystack #princessofwales

This is a lovely, traditional pub with a bit of history. It is split on 2 levels with the main area dominated by an island bar. There is also a few tables outside and a quirky beer garden with colourful umbrellas providing limited shelter. There is also a picture of a young girl and a lion that is rumoured to be a Banksy! We visited on a lovely, sunny Sunday and were keen to get an outside table or one in the beer garden. Although the pub was busy we were given a table in the beer garden after a short wait 😀 There is good selection of beers, spirits and cocktails. The food was excellent - my Seafood Linguine was absolutely brilliant with lots of mussels and tasty, succulent prawns. I can honestly say that it was better than any similar dish that I've had in any restaurant! Definitely a gastropub 😀 Service was lovely, efficient and above all friendly. Recommended. It is a short walk from Chalk Farm Tube station and close to the colourful houses in Primrose.

Number one spot currently for a Sunday roast. Really friendly staff engaging with us in a nice way on entry, seated swiftly, drinks to the table just as quick, food orders made and the best Sunday dinner I've had in London so far, I think it'll keep the title for sometime. Sirloin beef for me and pork belly for my partner, which she also loved, recommend the lemon posset for dessert. They even have a "banksy" and the overall decor is nice.

I love the vibe of this little pub. The staff are super friendly and it's clean. They do good food, and cocktails. ££ The only thing is that the crust of the pizza was incredibly thin and not very nice..... They also got our vegan pizza order wrong 😅 I had a lovely Shirley Temple non alcoholic cocktail here.

I visited this place a few times before but never in the lover area where the garden is. I could not fault the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help and serve promptly. I could see the level of training and professionalism. We only had drinks not food but there is a.good menu too. Lovely place, hidden Gem in the heart of Camden

Fancied a Sunday Roast and The Princess of Wales team delivered. Ordered the Roast Beef with a glass of Merlot, absolutely delicious. The bar staff are wonderful here and they make you feel like you’re at home.

Loved this place! We went for Sunday lunch and sat in their cute little garden out the back. It’s nice and spacious and so quiet and relaxing. The staff were lovely and accommodating for the toddler and the dog. Food was also very tasty - we had the pork roast, seafood linguine and vegan Caesar salad, all went down well! Will definitely be back 😊

Quality bespoke brasserie, awesomeness is in the food and charm of the hosts. Wonderful venue for a quick bite just a stones throw from Primrose Hill.

We visited the pub last Sunday and ordered Sunday Roast at 4pm. Admittedly you’re probably better off ordering a Sunday Roast much earlier in the day to avoid getting what’s been left out all afternoon nonetheless the food should have been better. When it arrived there was only 2 slices of beef cut thinly with plenty of gristle on show. The potatoes were dry and shrivelled and the vegetables were pretty much the same. Rule of thumb - go outside of London if you want a good Sunday Roast as most of the pubs in The Capital can never get it right. We were charged service despite ordering from the bar . Not a good dining experience I’m afraid and disappointing to say the least. The staff were very nice by the way that’s the only positive I can offer.

I came here and showed the bar staff two city stack beer mats (which entitle you to a discount). The staff said they were fine to use but it would be better to pay at the end. I ordered food and when we went to pay at the end the staff insisted I could only use one discount, instead of two which they had initially agreed to. They were exceptionally rude. They even refused to put our bill over two tabs. Additionally, I found the food very average.

I booked this pub for my civil wedding. We got a large table in the main pub. The staff was very friendly and were taking care of everybody. We had very good food and drinks and the prices are very reasonable. The location is great and the pub is lovely. Even the toilets are so nicely decorated! I'll definitely come back

Really lovely pub. We sat outside at the backyard. Their skinny crispy fries are good, and it tastes better if you add Malt and extra salt too. Good selection of drinks. Kid friendly. Super sweet staff. Highly recommend it.

Had a delicious brekkie this morning at Princess of Wales out in the sunshine, was so good. But really have to commend the service. Really got taken care of by Ada (I think that’s her name). Really makes a difference getting such good service.

Great service, friendly and welcoming staff. Beautiful decor and clean environment. Food was delicious! Decent menu with good range of choices, not too large and not too small. Sunday Roast was overall great! Wished the porkskin was a bit crisper.

We didn't have any food, but ordered some nuts, egging was served warm. The place is tastefully decorated. The lighting is spot on, not bright, but dim. The furniture's immaculate.

We couldn’t have asked for a better venue to host our engagement drinks in. The staff at the pub are brilliant, kind and helpful and the venue itself was the perfect space for a private event. The Princess of Wales has a great reputation and we could see why! Fantastic service, great food and lovely area, inside and out. Thank you so much

I stopped in here for lunch on a whim and was pleasantly surprised with both the food and service for what looked to be your run-of-the-mill pub from the street. The Princess of Wales always seems to have a handful of people inside — and now I can understand why. The food here was levels above what you’d expect for pub food! My mushroom risotto was excellent. It was perfectly cooked, and the truffle oil on top was so so good. The lunch time menu had everything from sandwiches and burgers to pizza and pasta and meat dishes. Gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian are marked on the normal menu. The service was quick and efficient but also very accommodating to both a child and dog. The food came out quickly, and it exceeded my expectations for a quick weekday lunch. I wouldn’t hesitate to return here for either lunch or dinner!

We had a nice late lunch and the food was good, risotto with the truffle was great and the Angus was tasty. Warm place to warm up and have a nice lunch!

Popped in for a quick beer on a very hot day. And they sold beer. So I was happy. Beer not especially inspirational, but decent enough. I shall be back one time to try their roast.

Francesca and her team did a wonderful job of arranging and catering for my son's wedding. They set up all the venue just a we wanted it, the food was wonderful and the serving staff first class. Nothing was too much trouble, we would highly recommend.

We booked for a big group and they gave us a nice area downstairs (only problem is that there was no Internet connection down there). Staff was super friendly and attentive. The menu had many types of roasts with vegan/veggie options. I got the salmon roast, which was very good. All dishes seemed good quality (and big size). However it was overall very pricey, £18 for a salmon with some veggies is way too much. I would recommend getting the kids roasts, because it is a more reasonable price for a good sizes dish.
