Love this pub. Great music. But what sets it apart from lesser venues is the plant based burger. Seriously - it’s incredibly tasty, stacked with gorgeous flavours and accompanied by perfectly salted french fries. I will never eat another burger as fine as that.

For one of my first outings since things opened up again, this was EXCELLENT. The plant based burger was honestly out of this world (top 3 I have ever had) and the fries were incredible too. Table service in covid times was great. Bless them with your patronage.

One of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had in London. No scrimping on the roast potatoes here. Really friendly staff who were very welcoming and a pub with a great atmosphere.

Cracking pub a short walk from Finsbury Park station. Has indoor and outdoor seating, a decent range of beers on tap, and staff that know how to pour a good pint of Guinness. Food is lovely, quality ingredients and well priced considering the portion sizes. Still dreaming about their cheesy chips.

Really enjoyed the pub quiz, although our table was a bit squeezed in next to the presenter. Our booking was 6-10pm and the quiz was about 7-9.30pm. Also had a roast which was great, will be back!

Really great pub in Stroud Green, just a short walk from Finsbury Park Station. The staff are incredibly friendly! I would highly recommend the Merguez Sausage and couscous salad! A Decent craft beer line up too 🍻

I booked out their atrium room for my birthday party and it was amazing! Big thanks to Sam for communicating with me before hand and at the party. The room is at the back of the pub and is open so it never feels to crowded. I highly recommend the food! My friends couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Overall, a great time and I definitely look forward to returning.

Great little pub! Booked a table to meet some friends for some drinks and a bite to eat. The staff were super lovely and very attentive. We ordered some drinks at the table and they came back a few times to check if we were ready for food. My husband and I ordered the Fish and Chips where our friends ordered a few couple small plates. The food was delicious! Given Dry January, they had a couple of choices for non-alcoholic beer and even a non alcoholic Gin (Seedlip)

Great Roast Dinner! Big portions. I’d say it’s my favourite place to get a roast in north London very tasty and good quality meat! The only thing I could fault is the roast potatoes, they weren’t crispy or seasoned very dry and tough. Which is why I can’t give 5 stars, Everything else was perfect though!

Had lunch here today and wow! Fish n chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce and I asked for melted cheese on my chips, a pot of gravy and Yorkshire puds on the side - nothing was too much trouble! It was fricken delish, great portion size and good bang for your buck. My friend had pork roast and thoroughly enjoyed it too. Defo recommend - best Sunday lunch I’ve had in yonks! Friendly staff and spacious venue too with lots of varied seating. Can’t wait to go back!

Great Sunday roasts! Will definitely be back for more in the future! I had the pork belly and it was gorgeous. Lots of fat and very crispy on the edges and the meat practically melted in my mouth. Vegetables were cooked perfectly and still had a nice crunch to the carrots, lovely huge Yorkshire pudding and the potatoes were spot on. Staff were super friendly and were quick to serve us. Thank you for a fantastic lunch!

Popped in the other evening after a long day. Not quite hungry enough for a main meal, we opted to share  a selection of small plates (they do the best hummus). We've eaten here many times, and the food is always cooked to perfection - we love their burgers, steaks and Sunday roasts. The pub is clean, spacious, and the staff are super friendly - we couldn't ask for a better local!

I had an absolutely magical experience at The White Lion, all thanks to the charm of Hugo. His charisma not only lit up the pub but made the atmosphere was so delightful, we ordered cocktails he really delivered. Hugo's enchanting attention to detail made it the best Christmas Eve get together we have ever had. Kudos to The White Lion and the charming hero, Hugo!

Ok, apparently both times I’ve been I’ve eaten the food too quickly and forgot to take photos... So, when these guys were open I’ve been here for Sunday roast, both times I’ve absolutely loved it. Was a good amount of meat vs veg on plate, nice selection of drinks (beer, craft beers, wine and the normal mixers). I also liked the decor and layout of the place too. Staff were attentive, more so during the COVID when dining out was ok to do.

Over priced and over crowded

The pub is nice. The problem was one waitress, petit with dark hair. We tried to give her some feedback in a polite manner and she immediately became defensive and rude. Not great customer service. Also, they don’t take cash and seemed shocked that we asked to pay cash!

Have been here twice, first time was fine, second time not so sure! I've just noticed we had a 12.5% service charge added onto our bill without being asked (we only had drinks so it's not exactly a typical thing for a pub). This was also after we'd already sent the bill back for correction, as they tried to charge us for a whole bottle of wine when we only had one glass. Pub layout & ambiance is nice, if quite pricey, I do want to try out the food though having seen the other reviews.

The staff were lovely and the food was great, but the toilets could really do with some attention. Updated to clarify: toilets themselves were tidy but one door didn't close properly, another toilet was very difficult to flush.

A fabulous fun filled Sunday evening. Scrumptious roast dinner, mine ...pork with all the trimmings, his ... beef with all the trimmings ... lashings of gravy. Meat was tender and tasty. Maasive portions. Service was excellent. Topped off with a great Sunday night quiz. Highly recommend a visit. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Was able to book a table on the day. Website was easy to navigate too. This will definitely be a regular visit.

Visited here twice, once for a Sunday roast in March and once for my wife's birthday on Friday for some post dinner drinks. Both times I've come away complete underwhelmed by the standard of service. Watching two barman take 20 minutes to serve the six or seven people in front of me was incredible. If they work like that when it's not busy I can only imagine what it's like when they are busy. Desperate to like this place as they are close and have an outside area but they've let me down twice. Most likely won't be back unfortunately.

Without a shadow of a doubt run by the best manager in all of London. Definitely should be paid accordingly. Immaculate inside, never wait long for a drink, Sam spends more time on the bar than any other pub manager. Place absolutely smashes it. Stick the beer up 20p a pint and pass all the extra revenue on to the staff.

We had burgers. Good food. It is a bit cheeky that they charge 12.5 percent service when you have to order everything including the food at the bar and they bring only the food to the table. A burger is 14 pounds btw. Not exactly cheap.

A pleasant enough atmosphere, at a venue evidently popular with both locals and Arsenal fans. The staff were welcoming and attentive, too. Be warned, though.. prices are not the cheapest - £5.50 for a pint of craft beer!

Cosy atmosphere and approachable staff. This pub has everything you need if you want to quietly hang out with your friends over some pints and a good meal. I’ll come back to try the Sunday roast.

Couldn’t ask for a better all round pub. A sensational experience from beginning to end! The staff will go above and beyond for you to ensure you enjoy every minute. Will definitely be coming back in a month or two!

Came in for lunch and the crispy chicken wrap and hot chicken wings were delicious. Friendly staff and great service. A lovely, well kept space. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area! :)

I visited White Lion on Wednesday 5th of October with my friend, I hadn't been here before. I could not be happier with my visit, not only because of the excellant food, but the member of staff (young boy) who served us downstairs was amazing, He was so polite and friendly. He made you feel so welcome.I will go back again not doubt about it. We ordered starters and main: Ramen Chicken Burger and Plant based Burger, food was outstanding!!! Chef have made an amazing job and I think he deserves reward. Thanks you for a pleasant experience, will see you soon.

Nice pub on the main road which is a great all rounder. The food and drink is reasonably priced, especially the one real ale on cask, wine and the well kept Guinness. Stays open a little later than most in the area, has music on a Saturday and decent seating outside. Bar staff are very chatty and friendly. One slight oddity is that on occasion you wait to be seated which seems an unnecessary step for a pub that shows which tables have been reserved and if you're just popping in for a couple pints.

Stumbled across this place by accident a few months ago so glad we did. Atmosphere is so chilled fantastic service Hugo and Sam thanks for attentive service and making us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend

Have my third time of Sunday roast here and I am fully satisfied each and every time.

Really nice pub, great drinks selection and nice staff, but please please please sort out the toilets! I went in 3 times in the evening and at no point was there toilet paper. Some of the doors didn’t close, and they were very very dirty.

Staff very nice, service very good. Prices reasonable. Beer good and lovely inside and very roomy. Felt welcome. Diverse pub. Didn't taste the food this time but looked amazing.

Nothing special. Would rate 4 if service was better but understaffed and they aren't afraid to let you know they couldn't care less. Also a lot of dancing and pouring drinks very slowly lol

Bought one of their pub burger kits, and it was delicious and easy to follow (and that's nothing to do with my own cooking ability!). Had a beer with it to make it feel like a proper pub lunch. The burger kits are definitely worth buying, and a clever way to stay on business at this time. Will definitely be buying those again!

Good food

They were very aware of their covid safety regulations regarding the internal space, and all respected with a friendly face. Table service was great too, understandably there was some waiting for our turn as time moved on. Food was delivered in good time.

Amazing roast dinner, really great flavours only thing I'd say to do is make better roasties, they were a bit undone and not crispy but other than that very happy I decided to eat out. Great atmosphere really lovely staff

Out of all the pubs I have visited called "The White Lion" (4 in total), this one has the best atmosphere. Food was great, I had a standard chicken burger and chips. Macaroni and cheese was also tasty, although it is generaly not the type of food I eat, I would recommend. Food at pubs is definitely more underrated than drinks.

Not enough staff on a Saturday night. Was informed by a bar team member that this was because half of the staff were collecting glasses. This was on a normal Saturday night, not a sporting occasion, not NYE. When I was at the bar, one of the staff also attempted to serve someone that had just arrived at the bar, despite myself having been there in a queue 3 deep for about 10 minutes. As diplomatically as one can in a situation where it is both busy and there is live music, I was treated as if I was in the wrong (despite being the first to defer service to someone that has been there before me) - they then rolled their eyes openly discussed it within earshot, and got my order wrong. Quite a stark difference to when I have been in during the day, as the interior is nice and the atmosphere is usually welcoming. A lack of staff, and of any semblance of training (or enthusiasm of those that are in attendance) has left a pub that has so much potential as just another forgettable shell of pseudo-entertainment

Good food and good service, staff very friendly . Felt safe good social distancing. This was a Tuesday night, so do not know what it is like on a weekend.

Fantastic service, very clean and a nice, calm atmosphere.

Walking down the street and this pub seemed to be poppin. It was busy with people inside and out. Went inside and asked the bartender which London beers they had to offer. She gave us three different London beers to sample and see which one we’d prefer. I thought that was pretty cool of her since she was attending to multiple people. Picked a beer and drank it outside and enjoyed people watching.

Such a gem of a pub in North London! Great atmosphere and the friendliest/smiliest staff I’ve come across in a long time. Dog friendly too which is a bonus. The pub is well laid out, easy to walk around and quick to order drinks, plus they serve Little Creatures on tap. Win! Highly recommend.

Used to be better when they had the vegan platter, now the food options aren't as great. Good ambiance, really enjoy how cosy it is here, and they've got neck oil :)

White Lion pubs have a bad rep in general, but this one bucks the trend. Great service, staff and the food and drink offer is on point. We had a great time and will be back!
