Finally was able to visit Scarfes for my birthday, an absolute bucket list must for any cocktail fan. An absolutely beautiful bar, amazing menu and equally brilliant ambiance. The music throughout the night was amazing and always on perfect. Will definitely return again on a Friday or Saturday for the live music. Drinks were absolutely perfect and very imaginative. Definitely recommend being adventurous and getting something you wouldn't normally. Just overall amazing, an absolute must visit. If you liked my review feel free to give it a 👍 and follow me on Google Maps for more reviews!

#41 World’s best bar (2023) (Look up World’s 50 Best Bars Ranking) Bar inside the Rosewood hotel building. Very classy bar with a lot of cartoon art and live music. Quite unique combination. Vibe is incredible. Dress up - you don’t want to feel underdressed here. Drinks are good but a bit too expensive (£25-30)

Second time having a cocktail here! A post lunch cocktail after lunch at the dinning room! Reminds me of the bar at the four seasons in Paris! I love the atmosphere, and the seating, very calm and relaxed, beautiful interior too. The cocktails selection was diverse, and service was fast and friendly! Will be back thank you

I became a regular at Scarfes around later 2014, early 2015, when it was nice and quiet. I couldn't be sure but I believe it was shortly after it was refurbished. The manager/staff @ that time used to remember me and they always offer me and my guests a glass of house bubbles if we were there and had to wait for a table. I knew it will become a very successful bar because it has so much to offer on the highest standards. It has become busier and busier over the years and I sometimes struggle to get in and get a seat due to its popularity. I have had so many good memories and grown so much fond of this place. I had my birthday party & drink there in 2015, 2016, and 2019; celebrated my best friend's promotion there; also remember once I sent an Irish coffee back twice because they couldn't get it right, but they were really trying; I also remember one girl who worked there shared the big news with me that she is going to the university of Westminster to study media, and I was so happy for her. I used to love one of the cocktails from their very early menu which is named after the Rosewood hotel spa place - Sense of the place. They have then changed and updated their Cocktail & Drink menu many times over the years but I do still miss the old ones. I loved their live music bands, one of the main reasons I fall in love with this place too, they are classy, fun and I love both the bands, as they play on different days. Today, when I was looking for places to take my friend from the US when she visits, I thought of the Scarfes, and I wonder why I have never left any good words/reviews for this place. I guess it's better late than never, and here we go, got a bit sentimental too. It's probably my favourite drinking place in London, and I'd recommend anyone to come to have a perfect cocktail or a Gin&Tonic, or a whisky here as they have so much on the menu! But do visit when I'm not around so when I am there I can get my table, haha. ;-)

Bars at Rosewood are always a must try, especially this one in London, in a historic majestic building. We came here on a Friday evening, arrived at 20 mins before 8pm. We didn’t make reservation and there were empty seats. We were seated at the table. The drink menu shows plenty of whisky and cocktails. I highly recommend the Japanese sparkling sake, sweet and smooth, and only £12 for 300ML 5% alcohol. Really suitable for girls. The snacks are free, nuts and olives 🫒. Live music starts at 8pm. The atmosphere is so chill, everyone is having a nice chat. Our serving staff is very attentive, he kept pouring drinks for us, clean up our table and bring in new snack when the plates are close to empty. The decor is very classy, British style. Chairs are comfortable. The whole hotel is just very grand and beautiful. They charge 15% service charge and I think it’s worth it. When we left at around 10pm, there is a queue by the door already. So come early if you can!

My favourite go to lounge bar in London. Central location. Fantastic ambience snd decor. Very stylish rustic furniture. Relaxed atmosphere with open fireplace. Extensive drinks menu with tea available. Very friendly waiting staff. New uniform of tartan trousers- very stylish. Easy to book in advance. Opens from 4pm. No time limit to the duration that you can stay. Easily some of the best bathrooms/washrooms in London.

Had the most incredible experience here last night. The staff and service was absolutely fantastic and the cocktail list was interesting and well thought out. When you scan the QR code on the menu, you answer a few questions and it pairs you to a cocktail that matches your personality. Ours were absolutely wonderful and had such nice combinations of flavours. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and every bartender was kind, friendly and made us feel very at home. Probably our best experience at a bar in London so far and we would definitely recommend a visit here! We will definitely return too. :)

Best bar I’ve ever been to!!! It’s 22-25 GBP for a cocktail but it’s worth it giving the atmosphere, the live music and the amazing service! It also comes with complimentary snacks. This place is Special, 10/10 recommend!!

Now this is a spot that is a little higher class than we normally visit, but my wife thought a night out was needed while on our trip, so ‘happy wife’ and that whole thing. What a fun location, with live music and delicious cocktails. We did feel a bit out of place, but still a very enjoyable evening. The waiter was extremely friendly and gave us great suggestions. All in all, we may not come back, but it wouldn’t stop us from recommending this place to our more ‘fancy’ friends.

Elequently delightful. Pleasing small band consisting of a pianist /singer and 1 or 2 chums. Feels like a club from the 30s or similar. Waiters really know their drinks, apparently 400 whiskies! Our drinks were £20 each. 4 drinks and suddenly a bill for £86. On the menu I saw a Glenmorangie for £40, and another Glenmorangie for £425, a shot. We will go back but probably only have the one next time! In my photo is an Old Fashioned (using Jamesons)

Great ambiance, great whiskey selection, geat service and great cocktails. They get you to choose cocktails depending on your personality and mood. We had two cocktails and two bar snacks. One one the cocktails is called Money Honey and has banana and tonka in it. Forgot the name of the other one but really nice too. For snacks we had the croquettes and spicy chicken and both delicious!

Probably one of the best bars in London. It's a must see, especially with live music and the atmosphere that gets created. The bar is large and has a stunning variety of drinks, the decor also matches. The wall art is also perhaps the best out there. All in all a London must see and a not-so-hidden gem.

Scarfes Bar had such a lovely warm atmosphere, with it's low lighting, it's soft tones of laughter, quiet conversation, jazz music playing beautifully in the background, and to leave out how well dressed, polite and handsome the waiting staff would be tragic 😉 Fit for business and pleasure I was there on both as I discussed my brand and my book Operation Six: Matters of the Head and Heart with a friend whom I work closely with. Highly recommend 🙂

Very charming and elegant! Visited on a Monday night and were welcomed with the soft melody of live blues music. The bar itself was very intricately designed with a libarian/1920s theme. The precision of the cocktails was immaculate! Smooth and perfect cocktails...Best in London!

Scarfes Bar is great! The service is great, they give you some snacks with your drinks. The drinks are so damn good, great refined combinations. Depending on what time you go there is live music as well. The atmosphere is incredible, and the interior decor is classy AF. There might be a line outside depending on the time you go.

One of our favourite cocktail bars in London! The atmosphere and ambiance are 10/10, super classy but not overdone. The cocktails are creative and well made. The menus are next level, so unique that we have purchased two. The service is quick and attentive. Highly recommend!

Service and atmosphere is second to none, some walk in space is available if you go early during christmas period. However given by the fame of the hotel and the price charging, the quality of cocktail could be better. Especially the choice of ice, it melted too quick and not transparent enough and it affected the entire drink

A charming bar with exquisite cocktails and live jazz music every night of the week. The theme is a cross between an old library and a whiskey lounge. Loved the decor, music, cocktails and bites. Food wise, I would recommend the raw tuna tacos and the savoury potato Mile-feuille.

Located inside the stunning Rosewood hotel, we went here for nibbles and a few pre-dinner drinks before going to the Holburn dining room, also inside the hotel. The atmosphere was wonderful, very comfortable seating and incredibly attentive service from the waiting staff. When we ordered our drinks straight away, they bought us a bowl of olives and a mixed bowl of nuts and crackers which as soon as we finished they kept replacing until we had to ask them to stop as we were going to ruin our appetite, if not careful! We did have a couple of pre-dinner appetisers, which were wonderful and the cocktails were expertly made. I will definitely be back!

This place is a fantastic cocktail bar! 🍸 The Scarfes Bar in London 💂‍♂️ serves a great selection of alcoholic drinks 🥃 and cocktails 🍹 - definitely get the Beyond Cocktail with Salted 🧂 Caramel and Apple! 🍎 Service is extremely professional and the staff 👨‍🍳 is super friendly! Ambience 🎶 is wonderful and the place is beautifully decorated! 🛋️ I wish there prices 🏷️ were lower!

Every cocktail.... was great!!! The people at the bar were friendly and helpful providing recommendations based on my more common favourite cocktail choices. In addition to the amazing drinks was the ambiance and live jazz. I will certainly be back again. Five stars!

Perfect date place yet hidden so it is not super packed and they have life jazz band which is super relaxing. The cocktails are £20 and above so be ready for it. They are really good tho and you will find their famous politician cartoon paintings on the wall which is fascinating 🎹bar #jazz 🍸

Impeccable service and atmosphere at Scarves. Wonderful artwork of Mr. Scarves decorates the large and comfortable room, with a range of different seating styles. We loved that there's no reservation, ensuring all walks of life can enter the bar and enjoy the live music that plays in the evening. Cocktails are expensive, but well worth every penny - your purchase of a drink also comes with complementary nuts and olives which are fantastic. Incredible work by the staff who run a tight ship here. Looking forward to my next visit!

Amazing experience as always at the Rosewood. Great for cosy dates where you want to impress and for catching up with loved ones. Service is consistently smooth and attentive. Well worth visiting simply for the atmosphere and setting alone. Try to go when there is live jazz music! Drinks are on the pricier end but that comes with any upscale bar offering what Scarfes does, so well worth it for special occasions. Would say it’s great value for money. Our waitress was incredibly informed on all the drink options, what they contained and how they were served which we really appreciated. Loved the concept of choosing a cocktail via the menu in the form of an enneagram personality test! Scarfes Bar stands out from most bars in London for it’s unique experience. We had the money honey (whisky based), suspicious lady (fruity sharp flavours but sweet enough to make it easy to drink) and the happy place!

Gorgeous cocktail lounge in Rosewood Hotel. Bartenders make incredible drinks and do so with great flare. The atmosphere is classic England with all the trimmings including live piano. Drinks come with nibbles and the service is as good as it gets. This is a classic cocktail lounge with style and class but not stuffy or twee. Marco was my bartender and he's a true artist. It's a must stop if you're visiting London.

Recommended by cocktail god David Wondrich, this place is a haven. Had perhaps the best whiskey cocktail of my life here with bee pollen. Despite the posh digs they let us in while I was dressed in my walking around London tourist clothes (the crew in black tuxes by the piano were far more appropriately dressed). Talented, fast bartenders. Definitely stop by.

My favourite bar in London. The drinks are at a premium but the service, atmosphere, ambience and drinks are totally worth it. Love the bonus of live music and 1st class treatment of their customers every time I visit. The old fashioned here is amazing

Classy place where standards are high. Attentive staff and always ready to serve. Arranged a table for us the moment one became available and remembered we were waiting despite the busy crowd. Huge selection of whiskys and good quality wines and champagnes.

One of London’s most beautiful hotel bars, with an exciting cocktail menu full of delicious sips. Dog friendly and fabulous live music nights.

  • 3/5 Florian M. 1 year ago on Google
The atmosphere is nice but there is a big lack of passion from the bar staff. It felt for me that they just had to do their job but that’s it. When I arrived at the bar I got asked if I would like to have a water... usually at high level cocktail bars like the scarfes bar, the water is standard and doesn’t end up on your bill... (I didn’t asked for a bottled water)! The staff was quick and the bar snacks (nuts and olives) very nice. The cocktail was ok, nothing outstanding.

Ultra posh Holborn cocktail bar. Smooth mellow and rather lovely.

  • 2/5 Barfly 2 years ago on Google
It’s hard to understand when you get service that bad from a bar so expensive. Not being greeted when sitting down at the bar, the counter being wet and sticky. The bar man not saying anything about it. Nobody asking how the drink was, I mentioned myself that it was rather bland. It was replaced without fuss, but then again nobody asks how THAT drink is (it was fine). The room is gorgeous, any bar can mess up a drink and I really wanted to like this bar, but there are so many bars in London with way better service for half the price.

  • 5/5 Rima K. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing atmosphere, especially in the evening with the live music. Cocktails were delicious, albeit very expensive! Definitely worth one drink and we didn’t feel rushed even though it was a Friday evening. There was no skimping on the nibbles, olives and nuts replenished frequently. Loved the caricature theme. Will be back for a near future special occasion.

  • 5/5 John N. 2 years ago on Google
Killer live jazz band, and amazing drinks to matched the decadent atmosphere/bar. What more could you want, especially for a mid-week tipple! Also: try their unique Cocktail bar, where you get to choose your drink by “feel” or “ways of thinking”. Sure to get conversations going ;).

  • 5/5 CA G. 2 years ago on Google
Always a pleasure going there for a drink. It use to be our GQ, then COVID took that away. But we're back! We love the live music, the poetic atmosphere, the staff and the champagne!
