Parking was good with clearly marked disabled spaces, the pub looked great too and just inside the front door was a fireplace, albeit running low on fuel. We arrived on time for our restaurant booking for two, but were told it was full and we'd have to eat in the bar. We weren't greeted pleasantly, instead told to seat ourselves at a table near the external door, reserved for us, given paper menus and told to order at the bar. The waitress only spoke to us again when she delivered our food orders, and only then to confirm which was which. The bar chairs were a little too low for eating, so I had to prop my mum up on a cushion so she could reach the table. After both selecting the day’s Special, Lamb Shank and mash potato, I attempted to order. It transpired that there were no Lamb Shanks left, so I returned to our table for us to reconsider our selection. A few moments later we’d both chosen and so I returned to the bar arriving there at the same time as a half-dozen bar customers coming in through the front door and wanting to order drinks. Fortunately, while they were considering their order I managed to get the barman’s attention and tell him we were ready to complete our order, just as the waitress moved into the bar area to help him out with the new arrivals. Unfortunately, our newly selected food options were not available either, apparently as the kitchen had no mash potato left. With luck, as I was suggesting it might be best for the barman to tell me what was actually available on the menu, the chef arrived behind the bar. He added some clarity by explaining that their usual morning delivery had not actually arrived yet since the delivery lorry was running late with no ETA. We were offered dauphinoise potatoes instead for our options which I accepted. Fortunately neither my mum or I have any allergies or intolerances because we weren’t asked if we did. I asked for the drinks that I’d already ordered but since the barman hadn’t poured them he offered to bring them to the table for us. So, I returned to our table by the door where my mother was now having a coughing fit due to the in-rush of freezing cold air every time the door was opened and, by this time, the bar area was getting pretty busy with groups of men in high-vis jackets entering through the door. Two of those, who’d seated themselves adjacent to us, actually overheard us discussing the reason for her cough being the cold air through the door. They very kindly offered us their table, slightly further into the bar and nearer to the aforementioned fire, since they were about to leave. When I pointed out that their drinks were still more than half full they said that was no matter as both beers were undrinkable, one said it was the worst he’d ever had in a pub. We consequently accepted their offer and moved but I noted the fire was dying so there wasn’t much heat coming from it. The barman finally came over with our “drinks”, however, he thought I’d only ordered half a shandy, presumably to share as that was all he brought over. I confirmed that my order was a pint of bitter and half of bitter shandy, but as we’d already paid for our meal I had to return to the bar to buy an additional pint. It took a while for the barman to pour it, commenting as he finally topped it up that he’d only “just made it”. Judging by the taste that was presumably because he’d reached the bottom of the barrel. In view of the note on the fireplace that suggested that only pub “team members” could fuel the fire I took the opportunity to ask the barman if he would put another log on the fire. Rather than doing that though, he said he would “arrange it”. This never happened, but another customer overheard my request and put several logs on the fire himself, suggesting that being a pub “regular” qualified him as a team member. That resolved the warmth issue (and my mother’s cough) and the waitress finally came with our food, but she had no other conversation, nor any offer of table water to accompany our meal. All in all it was a pretty disappointing experience.

Just had a lovely lunch at The White Horse. Started off in the outdoor courtyard. Lovely spacious comfy area. Went indoors and had a lovely lunch. The food was lovely. We had some Pizzas Salads, Halloumi and Eggs and Gammon. The staff were incredible! So lovely so professional. Even brought over a tray of a selection of condiments for us! Just a nice touch.

Family lunch to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Excellent service and a great ambience was enjoyed by all. The food was amazing - rack of lamb, chicken and brie pie and 2 dirty burgers. Will be doing this more often. Thank you

Went to the White Horse last Saturday and have attended sporadically for years. Staff are always friendly and informative on what they are selling. I went for a close friends birthday and was not disappointed. The food was served quickly and efficiently and was full of flavour. Service also with a smile. Get down to this pub if you are planning to have a nice meal and a few drinks!

I went here last night with a party of 6. The food was amazing I really enjoyed my half roast chicken, the gravy was really tasty and the chips were nice and crispy. As expected from a pub the helping sizes were generous. A member of my party had the pork belly and scallops, they said the pork was juicy and soft. However the scallops weren’t seared and there were only two of them so she would recommend just getting the pork without the scallops. A member of my party was quite difficult about their order and the female waiter with a bun was very skulking in politely handling him without making a fuss. I must congratulate her on this. For dessert we ordered a chocolate brownie which was a rich dark chocolate brownie. Aswell as the lotus bomb which is a chocolate circle that you pour hot caramel on and it breaks open to amazing cream, lotus spread and a mini brownie.

I've been coming to this pub on and off for about 18 years and have seen it go through several changes. I'm not a regular, the last time I set foot in here was about 4 years ago, it was great then and great now. What makes this place remarkable is that the changes are never for the worse, the place just moves with the times: decor, food and booze without ever compromising on taste or quality. The menu might be different but man, it's delicious! I even managed to get a few photos in (and if you've read any of my other reviews you'll know I usually scoff everything first!) Admittedly, they are only shots of pudding but I tried! This pub is an amazing pub. The service was really lovely and I mean really lovely, friendly, fun, down to earth, the atmosphere was comfy and chilled and got busier within the hour (do book as it seems quite popular), lovely fire as you come in...just a very nice, comforting feeling. Like you have arrived at your best friend's house. Go and have a yum cocktail while you peruse the menu!

My favourite pub to go to, all the staff are always so friendly, especially Jemma who's always so welcoming and finds me a good spot to sit. Food is really nice too, great local pub! Definitely recommend!

We both had the chicken roast, i dont think well need to eat for a few days. Food was so tasty ,(and loads of it). Jolie was a great waitress today, friendly and such good service.

We had lunch here last Thursday, excellent service and food to match. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. We brought our puppy dog with us and he was given a bowl of water as soon as we sat down in the Bar area. Thank you all at The White Horse for making us all so welcome, we will certainly return. A beautiful Sunday Roast for my Mums Birthday. Attentive service, delicious food (and reasonably priced), generous portions! Our waitress Jess was super lovely and make our experience so enjoyable. Thank you!

Unfortunately the service wasn't very good yesterday. we sat down at 2.30pm and managed to order our drinks but didn't get to order our food for another 45 minutes. The starters arrived another 30 minutes after ordering. We ordered some pigs in blankets but asked for it to come with our other starters which were the sticky chipotle chicken, halloumi fries and garlic mushrooms. Our mains arrived 45 minutes after our starters, the pigs in blankets did not arrive with the mains either which were four roast dinners. I asked the waiter about the pigs in blankets and some extra gravy. Another 10 minutes went by and I had to ask another waiter for them again. The gravy arrived but still no pigs in blankets. The pigs in blankets were taken off the bill at the end but I am disappointed with the service.

Visited for the first time on Saturday 20th May. The food was lovely and both Melissa and Jessica were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely visit again. Only thing that would make it better was if we did not have a "wonky" table that did not keep moving!

Wonderful Sunday meal. Food excellent. Olivia B amazing. Always smiling and helpful. Any changes to the menu were not a problem at all. Quick and efficient service. 10/10 for everything. Highly recommend this pub. Live locally but not been in before. Will be going back very soon.

Had a great lunch in the gardens. Ordered the Nourish bowl it was delicious. So great going back there on Wednesday Eve for more. Very friendly and helpful staff too. Great place to go in the summer

We were served by Olivia who was one of the most efficient pleasant personable and capable staff members we have been fortunate enough to meet. Olivia knew the menu by rote and didn’t need to write our order down. Everything was lovely. Olivia deserves this special mention for all the above mentioned reasons We will be back

genuinely the best experience in a restaurant so far as a disabled person. Taylor greeted us with such a warm manner and was so accommodating when it came to where we could sit. she was so kind, friendly and attentive throughout. what stood out the most to both my mum and i, apart from her lovely personality and great hosting skills, was that with me having very complicated dietary requirements due a rare allergy condition, Taylor did everything and more to make me feel so ‘normal’ and not an inconvenience in the slightest. for a world that is so difficult for me to navigate, it was the first time i’ve been out to eat since being very unwell that i actually enjoyed myself and felt comfortable. Taylor honestly couldn’t have done more - nothing was too much; she went above and beyond. such a kind, genuine person who was extremely personable, easygoing and a good laugh. 10//10 from me and mum. the food was also pretty good. nothing extraordinary but plenty of options for all - very high standards as my mum is a chef at the end of the day😂 would highly recommend to locals and those who happen to be in the area. reasonable prices, incredible customer service and a really lovely place to be. will definitely be going back!!

My colleagues and I have just had lunch where we ordered from their Christmas menu. There was a nice choice for each course which we all pre-ordered. All of us agreed that the food was extremely good. The deconstructed cheesecake was very attractive and was delicious and my favourite. The staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful and the decor was festive and cosy. I would definitely recommend a visit. I’m sure we will be back soon.

Best experience ever. I was visiting The White Horse because I was not finding something available in the area.But I am not regretting the choice. Thanks for the management staff and for Denisa, because she recommended me what are the popular dishes and what I can order. The food was amazing and very delicious and also the cocktails worth trying it. Thanks again for looking after me and this is the best option when you are travelling around.

We turned up with kids and dogs, and the staff were incredibly welcoming, and found just the right seating choice for us (which wasn't what I'd booked!). Food was outstanding, crispiest fish and chips ever, and really sophisticated tasty starters. The service was warm, friendly and incredibly accommodating (including switching out fries for chips to please my fussy daughter!). Couldn't fault them - thanks for a fab Sunday lunch White Horse team!

Had a very pleasant meal in glorious sunshine today. Very impressed by how careful and covid safe the staff were. Food was excellent, especially my salmon with samphire. The blood orange sorbet was tangy and tasted homemade, much appreciated by this dairy allergic customer. Will definitely be back, especially once we're allowed inside again.

What a superb meal we’ve just had. Huge thanks to everyone involved. The quality of the food was entirely matched by the service. We’ll be back very, very soon. Oh, and try the duck parfait. It’s sublime.

Always lovely friendly staff to welcome us and seat us at our table. We were offered menus for food and drinks as soon as we were seated and our order for drinks was taken quickly. We then were able to order our food, starter and main. Both starters and main meals arrived quickly, beautifully presented, hot and tasty. We were then offered a dessert menu and the dishes were explained to us and again, arrived quickly and delicious.

We had dinner a few times here. All I can say is : Amazing food! The whole experience from start to finish is great our waitress Denisa was so friendly and kind. The food can’t get better and the prices are fair for the portion size. Always a great spot to get great food.

Myself and a group of friends went here on Saturday afternoon and we had a splendid time. It was a summer party event and they had a DJ. I believe his name was George and he was BRILLIANT! We danced the night away with good drinks and good vibes. I will definitely be coming back here again! (Especially if that DJ does another event).

We had a big booking in the restaurant for lunch today. The service & food from Paul & his team today was excellent. All the food came out together and was piping hot, fresh & well presented. We were made to feel very welcome, thank you!

Had a great evening meal this week at the White Horse. Both the pizza and the dessert were delicious. Our drinks and meal were served promptly and staff were very welcoming, polite and friendly. Great atmosphere and lovely place to eat out!

Went here on the last day of the Eat Out to help out, was greeted by staff members and given hand sanitiser at the entrance. Tables were spread out due to COVID-19. The service was excellent and staff friendly and welcoming. Menu had a good choice and the food was lovely. Bit on the expensive side for Pub food, but we save money with the money off scheme. Plenty of parking spaces and a lovely Garden if you prefer to sit outside. Would highly recommend.

Ordered 2 espresso martini’s. Very expensive for what you get. That’s half a glass! They both came half full. When I asked why they said that was the measurements. I’m not sure what measurements they use but it’s definitely different to any other establishments I’ve been too before! You actually get half an espresso for full price! I have left a photo of what they advertise outside as their cocktails. Looks different to what we got. False advertisement. *Follow up the manager told me to come in and he would give me 2 free drinks and when I did the barmaid questioned I might of used the email I showed her before so she wasn’t prepared to give me the drinks! It was very embarrassing. She was so rude I had to leave before I said something I regretted!
