A real disappointment and the service has dropped so much. This is a really nice pub situated in the Totteridge Village. Beautiful surroundings and scenery. It is also one of those Mitchell and Butler pubs, so don’t be surprised to find the food and especially the drink menus being the same. Reasonable space in the car park. They even burn firewood logs in winter. Great atmosphere. I must say the food is good but the service is quite appalling! I went there for Monday lunch and the restaurant wasn’t busy with quite a few attending staff. I had to wait ages to get any attention, I even waved at them and often get ignored. Finally when placing my order, the waitress forgot my order. It’s only a drink, a starter and a main course, hardly a challenge. I don’t mind if my order needs to be repeated a couple of minutes later when she entered my order in her till, but I don’t mind despite all the efforts my order still turned out to be wrong. The young waiter brought my food from the kitchen was embarrassed and he was the only one who was kind and offered to change but I never wanted to cause a scene and I was happy to accept the chips rather than the salad I had ordered. What is utterly unforgiving is that I had to asked a couple of times for my bill and the other waitress forgot my request and ran around doing everything else than giving me my bill. When I finally reminded her of my bill, she ordered me to come to the till to pay. I felt quite offered as the bills are all brought and presented to all other customers but me! Again, without wishing to cause a scene, I obliged but I felt very uncomfortable being treated in such an appalling manner. It was also my birthday which made it a whole lot worse. They can’t survive long with this kind of service especially with the local clientele as they won’t put up with this! Food 8/10, service 2/10, ambience 8/10, value for money 5/10 (mainly due to their service) I won’t come back again if this is the way they aspire to serve and it’s a real shame because everything else is good!

Superb staff, beautiful gastropub with plush furniture, private function room and very extensive menu. We ended up going 2 days in a row and enjoyed the brilliant lunch menu. Highly recommend the fish and chips which was very crispy and a huge portion. Reasonably priced lunch set menu with good choices.

Lovely Sunday roast and fish and chips. Great portions and reasonable prices. Nice location. Interior very nice. This place is decided into restaurant area (where dogs are not allowed) and you can make a booking of the tabke and pub area where you can dine or have a drink with your dogs and these tables are on first come first serve basis.

We have been here on several occasions now. The food is excellent. The atmosphere and setting are great. But, a slight gripe is that the last few times we have come there has been some confusion about us bringing our small dog. It seems that you cannot reserve dog friendly tables and you cannot bring dogs into the restaurant. It’s entirely reasonable to have a specific area for dogs, but what is the harm in reserving one of these tables? When I’ve tried to phone to they don’t answer they phone… On similarly picky point, I ordered a fish course which was described as accompanied by grains and lentils, but half way through it was apparent it was peas and no lentils. Wouldn’t have been an issue if it was flagged in advance. Despite this, the food has always tasted great and is very high quality.

What a beautiful experience for valentines day, the menu had options for everyone including vegetarians/vegans; & the atmosphere was full of love for the occasion ❤ The food was exquisite down to the very last bite: we had the Baked Camermbert Sharer, Maple-Glazed Rotisserie Pork Belly Our Dirty Burger & for dessert the Chocolate Orange Melting Bomb & Warm Home-Baked Chocolate Brownie.. this truly was a 3 course meal that was enjoyed very much and left me very much stuffed. The customer service was wonderful, especially from Sophie thank you! The only issue I would say is when the bill arrived, not only was I charged the full price for cocktails which were meant to be on happy hour prices; the deposit wasn't taken off the final bill. This was all retified however if I didn't bring it to the attention of the staff I would've been over charged by £24.50.. 5* I would recommend on overall experience 👍🏼

Lovely pub to dine and enjoy the scenery. I have come here regularly since I was a little girl and they never fail to deliver. If you go to eat, make sure you eat on a Sunny day outside. They make a delicious roast for dinner also. We are always greeted and served by Marsel and he always goes above and beyond to provide the best customer service. It is dog friendly and they also provide water and treats for your furry little friends. Highly recommended.

This cozy restaurant has become our favorite restaurant in London. The atmosphere is so welcoming. As an interior designer I like the layout of the tables and how they design the interior according to every season. In summer they have cute tables outside and in winter they use their chimneys. The food is also so tasty, I ordered burger and I absolutely loved it. We shared mezze plate and all of the mezzes were amazing. And for the dessert I tried sticky toffee pudding which was Fire!!! The staff are also so kind and friendly that we always feel like home in this chic restaurant!

This is our 4th visit to the Orang Tree and every visit has been a pleasure! Food is of the highest quality, service is excellent and prices are reasonable, considering the quality of the whole experience. Charlotte is a superb waitress, 10 stars for her x we had Sunday roast, Duo of beef x 2, Pork belly and Pasta with Scallops! All the meals were excellent. We will be back

Love the location and we were seated in a sort of private booth which was lovely. My friends enjoyed their meal - sea bass went down well and mine was just OK. I wish I'd chosen something else to be honest. The plant burger wasn't hot and the cheese not melted. Had to ask for salad dressing. All a bit lack-lustre for me for the price of the meal. Dessert was ok but the sticky toffee pudding wasn't really that sticky! Good service and ambience. Service added to the bill.

The restaurant is situated in a very nice and calm area, sitting outside possible which makes it perfect on a sunny day. The food was very good, especially the desserts. However, my steak was rare and very hard to eat even though I ordered medium. Second steak, also should be medium, but was not, but still better than mine. Others enjoyed their food, specially the kids so that was most important.

Haven’t been to the orange tree since the refurb. So we booked to go for a Friday night dinner. The interior is lovely, with the bar in front when you walk in, bar seating to the left of the pub and dining to the right. Unfortunately we were put on a table right by the door which was rather noisy next to the people that were drinking in the bar section. I felt like the staff should have asked the group in the bar to quiet down a bit as my friends and I had to shout across the table to hear each other. The actual food was lovely, I had a king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine- it was delicious but also very fishy. Drinks are expensive, with a Diet Coke costing close to £4 for a small bottle. My friends also had the nourish bowl and chicken burger, all looked great. Also had the Parmesan mozzarella truffle bites to start which were incredible! Staff were friendly, would visit again but ask for a round table at the back of the restaurant area.

The Orange Tree is a gastropub in Totteridge, London, that my wife and I have been frequenting for years on Sundays for drinks and food. We always have a wonderful time, and the food is consistently high quality. The atmosphere is especially lovely during the Christmas season. The menu features a variety of modern European dishes, with a focus on seafood. The Orange Tree also has a great selection of wine and beer, including several cask ales. The staff is always knowledgeable and helpful, and they're happy to make recommendations.

We have visited Orange Tree many times and love the food and coffee. Staff are friendly and polite. I have a birthday treat as being a member and was treated a free 3-course meal. This visit was as good quality as before plus save money. We will come more often.

Welcome to The Orange Tree pub, where history meets charm, nestled beside the picturesque duckpond. This roadside tavern has a rich heritage dating back to 1755, with the current building reflecting the elegance of the 1920s. The village boasts a roster of illustrious residents, including Roger Moore, Cliff Richard, Arsene Wenger, and various professional footballers. Over the years, I've visited The Orange Tree and cherished the experience with my children. However, I must admit that the recent refurbishment, though perhaps necessary, has transformed this classic pub into a modern restaurant, and in my opinion, the interior design leaves much to be desired. While the exterior still boasts the beauty of its 1920s origins, stepping inside now unveils a shockingly modern ambiance, reminiscent of trendy restaurants in central London. Sadly, the essence of the village pub and the cozy bar seem to have been lost in the process. The decision to adopt this modern look was, in my view, a misstep, as The Orange Tree should have retained its authentic charm. I must commend the continued quality of the food, which remains as delightful as ever. However, the mismatched interior design takes away from the overall experience. It is my sincere hope that the management takes this feedback into consideration and seeks to recapture the essence of the beloved village pub while still offering excellent culinary delights. During my recent visit for lunch, I couldn't help but wish for a return to the classic and inviting atmosphere that once defined The Orange Tree. While the food continues to shine, the interior design choice remains a regrettable deviation from the pub's heritage. Nick

The place is pretty and the main meal was good. I had a dirty Burger and my husband had a steak. I was not pleased with the dessert, it wasn't to my liking. I'd like to try the Sunday roast next time because it seemed to be very popular. The service was generally good and the toilets were clean.

Was taken here by my boyfriend's mother as a treat, she loves this restaurant and comes regularly. The atmosphere was beautiful, a really pretty restaurant. The staff didn't smile and weren't friendly, but I didn't know if that was the vibe they were going for in there. Parking was a nightmare we went round and round looking for a space, apart from that this was a nice evening. Really enjoyed the starters.

This place is truly enchanting, with an incredible atmosphere filled with vibrant colors and beautiful paintings that make you feel like you're in a cozy home, complete with lovely sofas and cushions. The food is equally exceptional. My friend and I ordered three small plates, each served on charming dishes, and every bite was incredibly delicious. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return soon!

This is a 4.5. The service was pleasant but somewhat leisurely indoors on a balmy summer evening, as the staff concentrated on the customers outdoors. I would classify the stir-fried beef fillet salad as competent, but the Black Forest chocolate bomb was superb.

Wonderful location, lots of greenery and a large pond nearby. Large drinks selection, with cocktails and lots of beers. Food was excellent, and there are good vegetarian and vegan options. Staff are nice, however service can be a bit slow when busy. However will definitely visit again as overall experience was great.

This classy out-of-the-way superb gastro pub is the epitome of relaxed dining, superb restaurant-quality food and undoubtedly the best customer service I've ever had in any similar establishment. Waitress Ella deserves a huge shout-out for looking after us. Almost quaint pub-like on the outside, but modern and friendly inside (not a log fire kind of place) with a large garden too... right opposite the village green and pond. Even reading the menu tells you they care about their food and it really shows. Superb. Definitely return here.

Food was delicious and came quick and the presentation was stunning. The location itself is beautiful and very big, lovely outdoor area in the green as well. I only deducted one star because I thought that the staff that was serving us could have been friendlier. Tbh, I hope she just had a bad day.
