This is a little gem of a place. Was recommended by a friend and would definitely recommend it myself. Tucked away in a village did not expect to see it there. The views were amazing. The food was 10 out of 10. Will return even if it's for the cherry rice pudding!! The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The owners were really friendly and wish them luck with their new venture. 😊

My friends and I had a table booked for 7 of us to celebrate 2 of our parties birthdays. As soon as I walked in I noticed the place had a lovely, old village pub feel. After confirming we were there for a dinner reservation we were led through to a lovely slightly more modern looking dining area that continued with the welcoming atmosphere. Our main waitress was Debora (apologies if the name spelling is incorrect) who was friendly and talked us through the different meats that were curing in house, but all of the waitress' and bar staff were efficient and professional. The food was stupendous! Everyone enjoyed all of their dishes stating the flavours were fantastic and the meat dishes were also of an impressive size with absolutely amazing flavours. It didn't end there though as the deserts were also exceptional. I can highly recommend the 'From the Woods' dessert but I won't say anything else as I don't want to spoil the surprise. Luckily we are local so I looking forward to going back again soon.

Visited some friends who have just moved to this area so it was our first visit to The Butchers Block. Definitely not the last visit though as the food was AMAZING! Took a punt on the Beer Battered fish and chips and it was the best fish and chips I have ever had and at 63 that's quite something. Our other meals were also very very good. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good choice of drinks. Couldn't fault it, well done and thanks. We'll be back!

First time in this quaint, cute pub! Instantly welcomed by staff and some of the locals. Some great outdoor seating at the front and out the back (beautiful view). Lovely Queens Jubilee decorations! Note - car park is down a narrow alley and round the back!

We had a lovely meal at The Butcher's Block. My wife had the roast beef and it was incredible, plenty of food and a nice selection of vegetables too. My son and I had the fillet steaks and they were full of flavour and nicely cooked. A great selection of wines and lovely, friendly staff. It was a very popular place and parking can be an issue. We parked on the road leading up to the restaurant rather than trying to get in behind the pub, that was much easier!

A real jewel, great for steak lovers of course and there are choices aplenty. If steak is not for you there is plenty more on the menu, I plumbed for fish and chips and got a large chunky piece with great batter, huge chips and home made mushy peas which had a great taste. I couldn't finish mine so no problem with portion sizes. Our waitress was polite and knew the menu. The pub itself was nicely decorated for Christmas and was nearly full so definitely book as you may be disappointed. The pub has its own car park and a nice outside area to sit when the weather is better. Easy to recommend this gastro pub

Was taken here for a surprise and goodness the food and service were impeccable. Beautiful cosy pub and restaurant, good menu selection that is seasonal, kids menu was great too. Food was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend. Small car park out the back 16/18 spaces maybe. Dog friendly pub at the front.

Great steaks, succulent and flavourful, good scotch egg, homemade and delicious, burger was a bit of a disappointment as the bun was over toasted and dry and burger was just ok. Probably my fault for ordering a burger in a steak restaurant! Lovely service and atmosphere.

Pros: amazing food really tastes great and the staff are nice Cons: On our two visits there we have over charged on our bill. This latest time was £42 worth over chargers, so guess it’s standard practice? As what’s the chances the the both times we costed in 6months we were the “only ones” it happened too 🫤 A real shame

Absolutely scrummy food. I needed a proper taste of steak cooked by someone that knows what they are doing and I wasnt disappointed. Friendly staff, spotless toilets and good food. Definitely recommend.

Decided to visit The Butchers Block after reading some great reviews and as it is fairly close to where my father lives. We were NOT disappointed. Absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious food. My father and I had fillet steak, which was the best and most succulent I have had. My brother had the T-bone which was also pretty darn good. For dessert, I had the Creme Brulee (OMG) again amazing!!! I had booked another restaurant for my birthday in February, but this has now been cancelled and I will be coming here. Lovely little pub, great service and staff. Food is top-notch. Thank you, Caroline

This was our first visit here. I enjoyed my meal of Iman Biyaldi starter and had ordered Harissa Spiced Aubergine Curry served with apricot rice and crispy halloumi (gf) as my main course. The two dishes were exactly the same, which I though was unusual, (except the extra rice, which was just rice with a few pieces of apricot thrown in) and I only realised 2 days later I should have had crispy halloumi with it, which I didn't receive or notice at the time. It was a pleasant enough service and atmosphere, and I liked the decor and table fresh flowers. However, I am now disappointed neither the waitress nor chef pointed out the missing halloumi or the similarity between the dishes when I ordered. We knew it's not a cheap restaurant, but definitely not value for money, even after the 25% off offer during January Mon-Thursday.(which we only discovered when paying) I'd be interested to hear how the management respond.

This is a lovely place to visit but food very expensive, the bill for the three of us came to £228 😮. A filet steak meal cost £37 and you don't get a lot for that although it was a lovely steak cooked to perfection. Onion rings are an extra at £6 a portion. If you give it a go raid your bank account first!

The Butchers Block is a little gem! I booked a table of 6 for my Dads 75th then changed the booking to 8. When I initially called to book I was advised that their restaurant was fully booked but was offered the poseur table in the bar area. I was a little apprehensive as my parents were elderly but the food here is fabulous. When we arrived to our surprise they’d laid out one large table in the private area of the main bar which was really nice considering I didn’t mention the age of some of the party or that it was a birthday celebration. This made the evening a little bit special and we were told we had the area for the night!. The place was really busy but the service was second to none with friendly attentive staff. There was a slight delay on the food but considering half of our guests were late and the pub/restaurant was packed this wasn’t an issue, again staff very attentive. The food was simply fantastic and very well priced, and quite frankly the best meat I’ve eaten out of London and in the South East (I’ve eaten at a lot of steak restaurants), one guest had fish and loved it, looked and tasted great. All in all a fantastic evening had by all, well worth the visit. As a local I will definitely be supporting this venue, keep up the great work guys well done!

Outstanding. Highly recommended. My wife and I had an amazing meal and dining experience here. Well portioned menu selection and the steaks are outstanding. Reasonably priced considering the amazing tastes and presentation. Clean and well laid out with plenty of space to spare. Staff who served us were a pleasure to deal with. We will definitely be returning and will let all our family and friends know this is a must visit restaurant.

Not our first time here. Parking is a little tricky but you are there for the food. Usually have a steak but today had a two meat roast (beef and lamb), excellent quality, best tasting meat. Hope to go back soon this year!!

Had a fantastic Sunday roast here. We book easily online for a table for 2 at 12.30pm. The food was fantastic and the beef was so tender. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant was very clean and tidy. It was the 1st we have been here and will be coming back.

First time I'd ever been here and was very pleasantly surprised. Apparently it's actually appropriately named...... I've been told that the chef either undertakes the entire butchering process for the meat on offer, or was formerly a master butcher.... I'm not quite sure which. Sorry! Having said all that......... I had a beautiful lunch here with my hubby and daughter! As it was a lovely day, weather wise, we chose to sit outside. The patio area was nicely laid out with the car park just behind. At the end of the car park is a small grassed area with additional wooden picnic tables and beyond lies a background of beautiful countryside scenery. I chose the 4 cheese macaroni, which arrived sizzling hot in a skillet and accompanied with a garlic bread side dish. Although delicious, it was way too much for me.... so you need to ensure you're absolutely starving if you expect to finish it! My husband had the Beef, ale and blue cheese pie, which was accompanied with the LARGEST and crispiest chips I've seen! It's so freshly made that he had the option of excluding the blue cheese.... which he didn't! Even though I'm personally not a fan of ale, I had a taster and actually really liked it! For me, the element of the blue cheese actually mellowed the taste of the ale. So, for the first time ever, I actually liked it! My daughter had the Steak ciabatta. The steak looked amazing. No gristle, or fat... just pure, tender steak The staff were amazingly friendly, helpful and efficient. ❤️ The food was beautifully cooked and presented. The food here are definitely NOT "microwave quickies" ! Everything was freshly made and cooked, so expect to wait for an appropriate amount of time. It was definitely worth it..... We'll be back! ❤️
