We have been here a few times now and have enjoyed each visit. The staff are so warm and welcoming. They were attentive, the food and drinks came swiftly, and our whole experience just flowed nicely. We made a reservation for a large group with multiple babies/prams/pushchairs. Our private room/area was excellent, and the pre-ordered food was great. I'd highly recommend the Hawk for groups as there is lots of space and private areas. We look forward to our next visit!

The Perfect Sunday Lunch! Visited the Hawk this last Sunday with the family, 7 of us and the dog and what a perfect time we all had. Service was wonderful start to finish, where our server Aimee couldn’t do enough for us, even with us keep changing our minds 😀. Food was excellent with everyone loving their food, all 3 courses. The place is amazing too, a real country pub atmosphere complete with real fires. We all agreed at the end to make this our go to place for all meeting up. Very highly recommended! And special thanks to Aimee who was amazing.

Visited for lunch during the week. The weather was sweltering and this venue has a rather nice outdoor seating area that we made good use of. Very nice menu with plenty of dishes and dietary requirements catered for. We opted for the sticky barbecue chicken to start, followed by the Asian duck salad and the falafel salad. The prices are commensurate with other establishments of this type, certainly not expensive. Food arrived promptly, nicely presented and tasted delicious. Clearly they use quality ingredients. Although we sat outside, the inside of the venue is clean and pleasantly decorated. The only reason this isn’t 5 stars is due to the staff member behind the bar discussing his private life at full volume, in earshot of myself and other paying customers, using inappropriate language and swearing. This notwithstanding, I would still recommend a visit

The positives: Great atmosphere and our table was excellent- I asked for a quiet table out the way and this was provided. Service was very quick, and the waitress, Senita was chatty and very friendly. I had the trio of roast which was excellent and cooked to perfection. Things they could Improve: My wife had the roast pork belly was probably 70% fat, and she left the majority of it! My father had the roast chicken, but it was served up without the stuffing and bacon wrap. My daughter is doing Veganuary and had the nourish bowl, which she said was OK, but wouldn't order it again - the cauliflower had way too much cinnamon on it! For dessert I had the creme brulee which was barely half a cm in thickness and overall very disappointing- I've had better shop bought versions! My wife's apple and blackberry crumble was tasty but served up luke warm. The backed camembert sharer was nice, but again could have been a little hotter! Overall, a nice place to go for a family birthday meal, but I certainly wouldn't order the creme brulee or roast pork again! Also, car park gets very busy (we visited on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm), and we ended up driving around and waiting for a space to become available.

Cannot recommend this place more! Great food, highly recommend booking in as you don't want to be disappointed if there's no availability. Cocktails were amazing, the open fires were lovely and warm. Pub decor was lovely at Christmas time too. The staff were so friendly too and went well out of their way to make sure we got to our next destination safely as well.

Had a really lovely meal, particularly impressed by the level of prompt customer service. Fantastic range of options on the menu. All staff I met were exceptional, particularly Saffron, the waitress who served me. Would highly recommend reserving a table in advance to avoid disappointment. I visited on a Wednesday evening and restaurant was very busy.

Hadn't visited for a while, staff friendly, it was very busy - almost too busy for the amount of staff, quick turnovers of tables and I do understand they're running a business, but I'm unsure if the priority is get as many in and out as quick as possible and therefore missing some quality in service and food. We had a couple of issues with a starter and a wrong dessert but they were rectified quickly with no issue. Food was good, menu was varied. Prices are ok.

Picked from the festive menu £34pp - starter, main, dessert. Starters were lovely. Main I had the turkey roast it came smothered in gravey that looked like soup and had seperated on the plate into half watery stuff and half orange soup!!! They changed the dinner after I asked if I could have the gravy seperate, no problem. The roast on the festive menu does not come with a Yorkshire pud, you have to buy one, although the chef gave me one if I left a review. The roast was OK 👍🏼 the cauliflower cheese which we ordered as a side was the best I have tasted, creamy and cheesy - delicious. Dessert I had the Brownie and ice cream. Service was 5 star 🌟 overall a nice dinner in a lovely old pub - a bit stingy and odd not having a yorkshire on the festive menu 🤔🌲☃️

I made them aware it was my dads birthday so hoped they would put happy birthday on his desert and make it a little more special but they didn't. Nice staff but seemed very rushed on a Monday lunchtime so may need more staff so it's a nicer experience for guests. I am veggie and would of liked to have seen a veggie burger or fish and chips option rather than a curry or the salad bowl. We sat on the light brown wooden chairs that was very uncomfortable for us all. I did notice there was other chairs in the restaurant that we have had before that are more comfortable. Grandad was a little disappointed there wasn't many chips with his fish and chips. Also that the majority of his was just skin and not much potatoe. Good range of drinks. We loved the new mint crushed over soda water. Overall we wasn't disappointed just feel things could improve as we enjoy coming to this pub and the food was also overall good and I would recommend people to go. Also hand towels in the bathroom is always a nice touch. Also great price. We just had soft drinks, five main meals and four dessert it come to £120. The chocolate bomb dessert is delicious, nan loved thr brownie and the apple crumble was yummy.

We visited today for Sunday lunch. Our waiter Brandon is an absolute credit to yor team. He was awesome from start to finish and was very knowledgeable. The roast dinners were great quality and large in size. I had summer pavlova and it was delicious and again large. My partner had the bombe that melts when sauce is poured over it ... great bit of theatre. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I had a lovely mid-week dinner here. The pub was packed but the young staff……from front of house, to the chap at the bar and then our waitress, all made it a lovely experience. We hadn’t been for several years following a couple of not so good meals, but we can’t fault last night’s dinner and will definitely be returning. Keep up the great service!

Lovely pub. I had gluten free fish and the waitress was very attentive and helpful with the menu. Two of our group had the Xmas dinner and they said the roast potatoes were hard to cut into. My fish was lovely. We sat in front of a real fire and we had a lovely warm, unhurried catchup lunch. Great atmosphere

Great evening with lovely food. Only negative thing was they stuck a service charge on for 2 people! Was too embarrassed to tell the waitress to remove it so paid the 10%. Very good service but food is quite expensive for a pub.

The food was exceptional. Sea bass fillets were cooked to perfection and we honestly thought we were eating in fine dining restaurant. Christian was so polite and attentive, a credit to your company. We haven’t eaten at The Hawk for many years but we will be back for sure.

Came here fo Sunday lunch over the Coronation weekend and the place was heaving! Every table was busy so clearly The Hawk is doing something right. I've had dinner here before a few times which has always been very good, and thought it would be nice to check out the famous Sunday Roast. I arrived for a late sitting at 3.45pm with family and we were given a table out of the way of the main thoroughfare, as we had elderly members with us with mobility issues, so thank you for accommodating our request. We went straight in with the Sunday roast trio, which came with a slice of beef, a chunk of roast pork and a roast chicken beast, along with lots of lovely veg and the biggest Yorkshire pudding I have ever seen. Also ordered the cauliflower cheese which was super tasty All the roasts come with a little portion of white bread sauce, at first I thought it was horseradish sauce but it wasn't. We ordered extra helpings of gravy and were so stuffed at the end that we couldn't fit in dessert. The potatoes were a bit stale, but I suppose that's a result of keeping them warm as we had a late sitting. Next time will book earlier. The crackling was incredibly salty, it only needs half as much salt, so had to scrape a lot of it off. Overall lunch was very very good and we all went home talking about how fabulous it was. Staff and service were spot on, already looking forward to returning!

The waitress was one of the reason why we enjoyed it so much. She was polite, and always served us with a smile It was my sons birthday and she even put the cake in the fridge so it didn’t melt. She attended our table very well and I would like to thank her again. Her name was Bridget. Lovely lady The food was amazing and the pub and facilities were clean. Definitely come again

Came in yesterday in a rather large crowd (16 in fact) and Christian and his fellow employees couldn’t have done better. Swift and Attentive service, so much so we gave him a round of applause! All the food was nice and look forward to coming back. Would definitely recommend.

Visited again yesterday with my folks for my birthday. As before, the food was delicious. AND the service is really good! Aimee our server & everyone on the team wants to be there and genuinely take pride in making their customers feel welcome. This is such an unusual experience in the current times. Highly recommended!

Came for dinner on Tuesday evening- greeted by friendly staff and showed to our table. Very accommodating of our toddler and promptly arranged for a hair chair. Anna our waitress was very attentive and friendly, offering great service. Varied menu with plenty to choose from. Food was great - would highly recommend the sea bass and lamb rack. Great choice on the menu for kids too. Will return again!

I’ve been to this restaurant many times with my family, we all love it so much. The atmosphere is very good as well as the setting and the decor is very stylish. The staff are very kind and fast with getting your requests. I had the: SEARED SALMON FILLET pan-fried samphire, Tenderstem® broccoli & baby spinach, confit tomatoes, fresh salsa It was absolutely delicious, as a table we had garlic bread too which we all adore. All my other family members were very pleased with their dishes too. Would highly recommend, great place to eat out with family for celebrations. The drinks menu has a huge variety.

The food was delicious, well presented and just the right amount. The chef, Chris certainly knows his trade, flavours were married well and in just the right way. The service was just the right amount of attentiveness and very knowledgeable. Would definitely go again. Thank you for a memorable festive meal.

My fiance surprised me by taking me on a night out to The Hawk, having recommended it to me from her previous visits there. I had never heard of it before, but I can certainly say my own personal experience has well and truly put it into my memory for future nights out with friends and family. The staff were incredibly hospitable, and genuinely friendly, taking their time to chat to us both in passing as they went about their business. The food was exquisite. I couldn't note any flaw in what we ordered. It was a shame that our first choice wasn't available, but they did explain why and apologised profusely. Once again, mightily impressed, and will definitely return in the near future.

I've not been here for a few years but since then, it's gotten so much better. The wait staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. They had a separate vegan menu with plenty of options and took the time to find out what sauces etc I could have. The food was lovely with great service considering it was the weekend.
