When we arrived we were seated promptly our server gave us an option to sit where we would like in the dinning area. Only one other party of diners in. Our server explained that she was the only staff member working today as the other person had gone home sick, so she apologised in advance if the service was slow. Drinks and food order taken- a little bit slow to bring items over but that was okay as we were not in a rush and she did explain. Now for me -the food should have been hot as there were only us and another party in here. My chicken tikka masala was nice and my husband said the goat curry was nice with plenty of meat- rice was dry the garlic nanns were so thin and the chips seemed like left overs from another order. No rush to visit again.

25th visit now and still cant get enough of the fantastic food!! Damian has tried every single dish on the menu and loves the Chapata wings but the paneer Mongolian is for me. I have even brought family here from London and they said it was the best food they have ever eaten. They will be back September, they enjoyed it that much! Should say something about these fantastic chef's cooks and preps. The waitresses and staff in the building are most polite and accommodating. Credit to you all for such a cracking well run happy family place to be.

We loved going to The Talbot in westbrom before they closed down. After finding the new Talbot on the over the net though will give a try. First impressions every well decorated inside more of a restaurant feeling the a pub bar and grill. Food was well priced and very tasty 😋. Service was great and very clean. We where located by the bar area as the restaurant area was full. Loads of options for vegetarians also.

The food is just as good as you would get in any desi pubs, but the atmosphere is less rowdy and suitable for family visits. Visited twice and the family has been more than satisfied both times.

The food was 1st class! Tasted incredible and presented beautifully. The decor is also stunning. Very classy and definitely not what you expect from the outside. The service unfortunately let it down majorly. The tables weren't cleared, The bill had to be asked for 3 times. We also ordered take out which we could see was ready for ages and we ended having to ask for that as well. I could understood if it was really busy but sadly not. Would recommend for the food but not the service.

This restaurant is a gem! The mixed grill was absolutely amazing, bursting with flavor. They offer a wide selection of delicious curries that are sure to satisfy any craving. Plus, the interior design adds to the overall fantastic dining experience. Highly recommended for a memorable meal.

First visit last night, it was very busy and therefore noisy! However, the drinks were great 241 cocktails 🍸 the food was excellent, my friends had the mixed grill and I opted for the butter chicken. Great flavours n good portion size! Finally the service was amazing, our waitress Connie was helpful and polite and made the whole night thoroughly enjoyable! I will be back and will recommend too 💯

The food at The New Talbot Quinton is a true delight. We indulged in a delicious mix grill, featuring tender and flavorful meats cooked to perfection. The curries were rich and aromatic, offering a perfect balance of spices. The starters were a great way to kick off the meal, with each bite bursting with flavor. Beyond the exceptional food, the friendly and accommodating staff added to the overall enjoyment of our visit. Their knowledge and recommendations enhanced our dining experience, making us feel like valued guests.

I’ve been coming to this Indian for over 3 years now and have been raving about how good the food is to everyone I know. The food is incredible. That is the reason this gets 2 stars instead of 0. There seems to have been a recent decision to offer the choice of table service (for 5% surcharge) or order at the till. This is really off putting and not a good experience when going for a meal out that isn’t fast food. As this is the first time I’ve been where this is in place, we went with order at the till. The ordering was fine, and the girls very polite. The poppadoms came with sauces in small dispensers that were incredibly tacky, they would feel more at home in a local chippy and not a restaurant. The starters were nice as always. During the meal we wanted another drink. We had to go to the till again to order. This drink didn’t come for ages until I got up to ask about it. Both girls on the tills were sat down chatting while one girl seemed to be running round doing everything. I’d like to add there were only about 3 tables in the restaurant. After this we quickly finished and left. The whole atmosphere now feels off and isn’t a pleasant experience. I had a family meal booked in for next week but I’m cancelling this as if this is the same as today I’ll be too embarrassed after raving about this place for so long. I also really don’t get the order at the till thing when you still have the same number of staff on to provide table service (we saw 4 waitresses for only 3 tables). It seems to just allow the staff to be lazy? There are also extra screens now in the venue that are so big they take over the room. If this is temporary for the World Cup then fine but otherwise they really ruin the atmosphere.

If you enjoy great Indian food, this place needs to be on your radar. Quite a small car park, but you can get parked on side roads close by. Once inside, you are greated by friendly, helpful staff, and you have a choice to pay as you go, or have your order taken, but this then has a service charge automatically added but it is worth it. Food is delicious and a wide choice on the menu. They also offer a good choice of drinks and if you are a sports fan, there are tv's around the walls for you to enjoy. This is one place visiting once is not enough to try other dishes.

Had a really enjoyable meal here. The mixed grill & chilli chips were superb - especially the chilli chips they were the best I'd had and we've tried a lot of mixed grill places. Everything was piping hot & really well seasoned. Also have a great dessert menu & service & atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. The only reason I've not awarded 5*s is the portion size is one of the smallest I've come across and I feel that you shouldn't have to pay extra to have plain naan with butter but that should really be a standard given it is considerably dry without it. Having eaten a lot of naan both at home & in restaurants I've always seen it on menus as 'plain naan, garlic naan etc' but this is the first time I've seen naan with or without butter & seen an expectation to pay more for 'with butter'. I therefore ordered the standard plain naan without butter and as expected was quite dry and slightly too crispy which was a shame. Having said that though I would return and recommend the place for its chilli chips, mixed grill & desserts as it was a case of quality over quantity.

Great fast friendly service. Nice to see an open plan kitchen. In the week visit was quiet in there but I prefer it that way. I'd expect it really busy on a weekend

First impressions from the outside doesn't do this place any justice. Once inside it's very inviting and the seating areas is fab for families or groups. The staff are very friendly and happy to advise. The food is stunning and full of flavour, we were glad we didn't go for bigger meals as they would of beat us totally, even the children's meals are large plates. Will definitely be going back and recommending to friends

I went to here as I was told it's a good place, I would not go here again as the service was so poor I had to help myself back and forth to the bar as it was not busy. The server did not know if she was coming or going. Food was okay

Surprisingly huge portions (every table was asking for take away box!) and pretty good Indian tapas. Personally I would like to have more spices added on but for 99% visitors is a bang on food.

Ordered a take-away 10mins before they closed. Order was accepted and arrived in good time. I was disappointed when I opened the containers. I had paid £6.95 for lamb sheek kebab and only received 3 piece. Next I opened the mixed grill to find a very small portion for £13.95. Truly shocked to find how someone can charge so much for so little or it we must have been given what was left as it was close to the closing time. I would have preferred an option for a replacement or a refund on those two items. Everything else was ok, but £21 for those two portions is terrible. Please pictures below.

I ordered Takeaway food from this restaurant. It was very disappointing. To start with , the delivery driver placed the food order on the ground in front of our front door , I know there's Covid19 but surely he shouldn't be putting food on the ground. So that started badly. Food was very average for a Restaurant and a complete disappointment. I ordered Crispy Fried Prawns and got a measly 5 Prawns for £7.50 , quite poor value. The Beef burger was again poor quality and taste, it came with stale and soggy lettuce and the chips tasted stale as well. The Chicken Balti is just average and the keema nan as well. The cheese nan hardly had any cheese on it , I specifically asked for it be made with extra cheese but that was ignored. Overall for a Restaurant , it was very disappointing and no value for money at all. If you want a nice Indian Takeaway , I would urge you to order elsewhere.

Having been a regular at the usual grill pubs in Handsworth, Smethwick, West Bromwich and Walsall, we thought we would venture further afield to the New Talbot for my niece's birthday on 25/06/2022. There were 9 of us in total so we ordered a variety of starters and mains allowing everyone to pick and sample each others dishes. I have to say i enjoyed it all, there wasnt a single flavour i couldnt get on board with. The king mix grill was great, the curries were flavoursome, and you could tell each had its own unique sauce, not like some places that make large batches and just add different spices for each dish. Menu is fab, i also love the fact that you can rock up at this venue and still get a good old burger and not restricted to grills and curries. This is also a good family place, clean, great staff, service was spot on. My new favourite pub/restaurant.

Food is unreal, flavours are always bang on and never disappointed, and the cocktails are beautiful. Only negative is on the last visit a table was loud and swearing and when asked if the management could have a word we was asked to sit somewhere else as opposed to asking the table to be respectful of other diners, definitely not the way to do it since it was not just us impacted by the noise and language. I wouldn't let one bad experience stop me returning and would recommend anyone to give it a try.

We recently held a surprise party for our mum here and it was perfect. We’d dined here before and had a good experience so decided to follow that up with a special occasion. They graciously lent us half of the hall and said there's no time limit – always a bonus. They allowed us to come beforehand to sort out decorations and gave us full autonomy on table layouts. Plenty of parking spaces available at the rear also. As the family started arriving, Ajay (owner) told us to let the staff know when they should start serving the food – again, very relaxed without haste. The servers were helpful, welcoming and attended to all our requests with a smile. The drinks and food were top notch. We’ve had a few gatherings where people will have little complaints (naturally) however this is the first place where everyone came out with positive reviews, even for the starters like the sweetcorn fritters. The meats were well cooked, naan and rice were fresh and the drinks were good. The food was plentiful so everyone had left feeling stuffed and for a group of 40 people, that’s good work. We'd even enough to pack into boxes for family to take home. I recommend this place to everyone especially for gatherings because they will cater to your needs and give you autonomy on how you want your special day to be. In addition to this, you get great food and drinks. Thank you to Ajay and the team, my mum had a special day. Will definitely be returning.

We wanted to try somewhere new to go and eat this evening, and after many times of passing the New Talbot we decided tonight would be a good time to try it…..we were not disappointed! Great service from the waitresses, and the food was spot on. Didn’t have to wait long and it came out hot and sizzling! I have to say, we love our curries and have eaten at some great restaurants, this is now up there with them! Definitely recommend, and we will be paying another visit soon so we can try the mixed grill 😉 Thankyou Jo and Neil x

One of my favourite Indian spots. Brillaint food, cant wait to go back again and try some different dishes. Very tatsey, good quality and well priced. Great vegetarian options. Not sure why people would give this place a bad reviews, must be trolling or just poorly educated in Indian food. Highly recommend the saag dishes or the claypot dish!

Tasty food. Respectful waiters. 3 big screens for sports ! Lively atmosphere. Not overly priced but maybe could have more meat in some dishes. Definitely needed to decrease waiting time...but as mentioned, respectful staff who resolved our complaint.

This is our go-to for takeaway during lockdown (well, before lockdown as well!). Really good tasty mains and the tapas are amazing too. Very quick delivery, we usually order quite early because of the kids and it takes 20mins. Looking forward to visiting again when lockdowns are over!

Good atmosphere, good food and service. Unfortunately small portions. Ordered king share platter for 5/6 people. 3 of us dining and we could of easily ate one each. Tiny portion of chips. Nice place but better local places for portion size and value for money

Great staff, very helpfull and efficient. Food was good quality, tasty and nicely presented, and the price was very reasonable. The restaurant was clean and there was good car parking.

Staff seemed nice. Curry was great. However, the portions on a mix grill are so tiny. In comparison to other pubs that do grills you get more value for money else where. But if you want to pay for a classy location. Good drink selection then it's good place to go. But for a pub grill. I'd go else where.

  • 5/5 Martin H. 7 months ago on Google
Have dined at 20+ of these Desi pubs. Visited the previous premises before it closed. Gave this a try. Beautiful decor throughout. Welcoming staff and as soon diners have left, they make sure the area is spotless. Excellent food generally, Masala chips a bit bland the only minus. Table service @ 5% a good idea for staff and customers alike. Would definitely visit again.

Ate here for the first time and we have to say that The New Talbot is superb! The food was exceptional, lamb madras and chicken garlic curry were super tasty and the portions very generous. The interior is tastefully decorated, the same with the toilets, which were spotlessly clean. We had a warm welcome and the atmosphere was great. Staff are really friendly and very efficient. There's a separate area to sit and have drinks which are reasonably priced. This place is a hidden gem and we will most definitely return. Highly recommend. Thanks to all at The New Talbot for a lovely evening. See you soon 😊

A modern tappas, sports bar, casual meeting place, curry house. Loud, almost canteen-like ( but not in a bad way), & vibrant. It does have a few quiet corners too. Waitress service for food is plus 5 percent, or go to the service point and place your order: easy. Vegan dishes were very good but the place needs a separate plant based menu, or better identification system than the present 'allergy' spreadsheet used. Staff were quick, friendly and efficient.

  • 1/5 Katie A. 3 years ago on Google
Food was absolutely awful 🤮 as you can see from the before and after we didn’t eat much of it. The food was very tasteless and the mint yogurt source was disgusting ruined the meal even more. We told the staff that the food wasn’t nice in the most polite was as possible we didn’t want to cause a sene. But they only offered us 10% off the bill. Considering we didn’t eat much of the meal i thought this was unfair. If you want a proper Indian mixed grill I suggest you go to the island inn down the road where you don’t be disappointed.

I decided to try this restaurant and spent around £40, but the quality was quite poor and quantity was very small. For half the price from a competitor I would get double the portions if not more and much tastier elsewhere. Very oily and greasy also.

Awesome! Love this place and visit often.food is great, nice atmosphere. If i have to give a criticism , the staff are very eager to bring out your mains before you've finished your poppadoms or starters, which leaves you with a very crowded table piled with plates. Other that that...fabtastic

We dined here on Friday, shockingly poor experience from a once nice dining establishment. Service was extremely slow and the food portions was tiny compared to when they opened. The manager instead of managing decided to ‘chill out’ by the entrance with what looked like friends and one of the waitress all drinking together and was very unprofessional. We ordered soft drinks and a couple beers and they took 20 minutes to arrive (they sat at the back waiting to be collected for 15 minutes). The currys was tasteless and we ordered rice with the mains which came out 20 minutes before the rest of the food - what a joke! Will definitely not be spending money with this restaurant again.
