Went here for lunch and the food didn't disappoint. Staff were helpful and friendly. The food was freshly cooked and presented well. Everything tasted as good as it looked. Definitely going here again 😊

Food pricey vs quality. Ate there on a Sunday and the turkey roast was dry. Not worthy of the £16 price tag. We ordered drinks before the main and they didn't some until we had nearly finished our main. The dessert looked very shop bought and like a 50p steamed pudding from the supermarket. £7 charged. On a plus note the setting is lovely

Came for 2 steak lunches today firstly the service waiting time for food was very poor as the pub was virtually empty. Ordered 2 rump steak meals and at £26.50 plus £3.50for sauce expected them to be really good. But reality they were very poor chips were not cooked correctly and my partner asked for a medium steak that came rare very poor for the money charged.Service girl very helpful but the lady running the restaurant just wanted our money and did not even apologise for the wait and the poor food quality. Will not be visiting again if you are going to change £30 For steak it needs to be good

Tgis place is amazing ... it gets very busy in the summer but motor homes welcome for overnight stay just go in and have a drink or something to eat .. Cant say about the rooms but the pub set up and the tables setup was second to none.. All in all fabulous

Pleasant meal and good service. We needed more room though as there were 13 if us. Disappointed to find out that a service charge had been added. We had to pre order on line so didn't see this. I would prefer a tip to be at my discretion.

Been recently for breakfast which was lovely. Evening meal on a Sunday proved to be a little less lovely as service was terrible we sat outdoors and had to keep going in to find a waiter and then orders were confused. Usually great though. Food always tasty.

I thought the food was a bit pricy at first but when i tasted it, it was well worth the extra pound or two. This was simply the best tasting meal i have had for many years in a restaurant. And food and drinks for three was only £54! I was there for a reason but I'm returning for the food alone. And it's a 50 mile trip each way. The service was also super, and the surroundings were very nice. A real gem by the canal, hidden away. Can't fault anything. It was food fit for royalty. I had the pork, my wife had the special fish and chips, and my son had a pizza. The drinks were well kept too, and they arrived within minutes. Worth a trip out.

The waitress was lovely .kids jacket potato you could taste was reheated but the baby still enjoyed it. The Macaroni cheese was delicious but unfortunately the burger tasted off to me the meat had been aged but not in a good way . I only had one bite and told the manager but still had to pay for it.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Previous visits have been good but last visit (a week ago) the food was terrible. We had to send two of the meals back, one of them was clearly inedible before we even started. The replacement meals were also poor being undercooked. The service was very slow taking an hour and three-quarters to get the main meals which were poor. Most of the staff were pleasant though. Would get a one star review on last visit but I hope this was a one off.

Went for brunch on a Sunday morning. Restaurant was really busy so definitely need to book. Service was a bit slow to bring drinks, and the food was about 30 mons after ordering. Food was generally OK, oatcakes were a bit overcooked and dry, eggs royale had a decent serving of smoked salmon. Reasonably priced and a nice atmosphere though.

Great Sunday roast, good selection on the menu if you don't want a roast dinner as well. Also catered for our dog in the bar with his own roast dinner and dog beer. The food quality was excellent and well priced for what we had. Staff were friendly and service was good for a busy Sunday. Will be keen to return and try the standard menu. Dog visitors suggest you book in advance for a bar table when visiting. It's also right next to the canal so you can walk off your over eating after!

We held our fathers funeral reception at Saracens and we couldn't have picked a better place. The venue felt warm, cosy and premium. The food was fresh and tasty but still felt good value. And I can't say enough about the team, all of them were helpful, professional and friendly. Anything we needed, they sorted. Amazing. Big thank you from our family and friends for helping to celebrate my dad. We will definitely be returning again.

Lovely first visit after being recommended. The Fish & Chips were fabulous reminded me of Scarborough harbour yum! And hubby had the Lamb roast dinner with beautiful fresh veggies. Attentive Service, cleanliness, toilets, ambiance and dining area were great. Lovely experience. Also saw lovely outside area and outside bar for daytime dining was well presented and lovely views. Overall loved it. Thankyou we will be back 😁

Perfect place to stay after we went to the shire show as only up the road from the show ground. The staff couldn’t do enough for you even though they were so busy. Food (dinner & breakfast) was spot on and the room was fantastic as well.

Went to the Saracens Head for our works Christmas lunch. There was a great menu, the food was fancy for the price. Level service was great. The added surprise was that there are alpacas in the fields!

What a lovely hotel the room was small but it was very clean and warm bed very comfortable what can I say about the food it was delicious and the staff were really good we had our breakfasts in bed because of mobility problems for both me and my husband and now we come to the only thing is if you have mobility problems and no family or friends to help you up and down the stairs and steps outside it might not be the place for you we're lucky our family live in the area so we were ok we'll definitely be back I definitely think that if you are looking for somewhere to stay in this are try Saracens head Mrs Lesley Williams

We were visiting locally and wanted dinner and to park the Camper the manager was a great help and followed me out to assist in parking. The festive set meal was good value for 3 courses along with a great wine we stayed overnight and saw the Lamas good time overall. We went for a meal, the service and food were very good but it was very busy and parking was at a premium took 25 minutes, was just about to leave when a party left and we were able to get a space. But then had a very enjoyable evening.

Had lunch here recently, food was lovely, hot, tasty and well presented. The big negative for me was the 8% service charged automatically added to the bill. This is so disappointing as I would have returned, but to have this policy is a huge off putting point. I gladly give 10% when I choose, not when you add it to my bill. Such a shame.

Evening meal mid week for a birthday celebration. My partner had sirloin stake and chips with a blue cheese sauce £32 and I had duck breast at £21 I think the food was overpriced for what you get unfortunately I was quite disappointed. The food was average nothing special also there was quite a long wait on food and the restaurant wasn't busy. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Called in for a tea and hot chocolate. Not able to speak about the beer as I was driving, was a decent drink when I played darts there some years ago. The food was good then as well, hope they have continued with the standard. Some of my party said the food looked good.

We went to this restaurant while on a canal boat holiday. Most of the group had a Sunday Roast which was excellent while I had a pizza. I was pleasantly surprised and it was one of the best pizzas I've ever had!! The service was also friendly and attentive.

What a fantastic pub, we stayed over night in our RV. Fantastic service from staff there. Beautiful location, had drinks in the evening and a gorgeous breakfast in the sunshine the next morning. Thank you.

Really disappointed… we went here as a treat for my Dad tonight…. table booked for 6 pm … arrived in good time but did not get sat down until 6:20. I then realised that the seat I had sat on was wet and now had wet jeans! Goodness knows what the seat was wet with! After swopping my seat we then waited ages for our order to be taken .. we had to ask! The food was inconsistent and my pork and stuffing were cold, veg was undercooked.. and others in my party also said their meals were very underwhelming. The only good meal was the dirty burger and a pasta dish… I really should have sent it back and complained but I was so hungry by that point , it was an hour since we arrived The staff were friendly but it all looked very disorganised. This is not a cheap place to eat or drink and to be honest I would probably not go back.

We always drive past and say we should go and have lunch here sometime, today we did and were left quite disappointed. The place is lovely but the food is average at best - but the service and time taken was the worst part. No one came to take our order, when we went back inside to do it ourselves after 45 minutes, a further half an hour went by without even receiving our appetiser, then it arrived and there were 3 brie bites in a bowl. Unfortunately we won't be back 😕

Perfect afternoon meal after recently moving to the area. The chicken pie has to be one of the best I have had, my partners fish and chips were also outstanding. The service was so welcoming and we couldn’t recommend this place enough. Thank you to the staff we dealt with on the day!

Just had breakfast, for the first time, at Saracens Head. This is now my top-rated place for breakfast, locally. Great portion of delicious food, at a reasonable price. Grest coffee. Excellent, friendly service. Clean throughout, and lovely views out the back. Highly recommended.

Service was excellent, first pint of Shropshire Gold for a long time was spot on. Food generally OK, hand cut chips not for us, cut to big and undercooked. Would we go back? Yes but would switch to skinny fries - properly cooked. Big shout out for the service.

Went for a lovely breakfast with the family and the dog. Food was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome. Portion sizes were very generous and very tasty. Good kids menu too. Looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely food, staff are friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Great for dogs, our fur baby loved the yappy meal and the staff giving her treats and pork crackling 😊 The alpacas and the view are an added bonus from the beer garden in the summer. 5*

Worth the drive! This place has the most amazing view in the outdoor seating area. Staff was very friendly and the food was really good. I had my first Gamon steak with egg. Pretty tasty if you have never had it. Worth the drive, especially if it’s a pretty day. Happy Customers here. The McCarthy’s

Stayed at the Saracens head hotel for a wedding we were going to nearby. It was recommended to us buy a family member. We had a warm welcome on arrival and were shown to our room it was very clean and spacious, over looking some beautiful views, bed was comfortable and every thing was in the room that you would need. After a good night sleep we went down for breakfast where we were welcomed by mark who showed us to our table. The service was excellent the coffee was hot the breakfast was one of the best I have ever had, everything was cooked perfectly and red hot, everything was excellent at the Saracen hotel. And even when we checked out the manager came over to have a conversation before we left. We will definitely be staying again, or even calling in for breakfast. 10 out of 10 in my book xxxx

What a place! Arrived after 10pm for an overnight spot in the campervan, and the welcome is better than coming home. Incredible hospitality, charmed by all the staff, happened to be wearing their uniform, and astounded by their array of whisky. I’ve even been given a sneak preview of the breakfast menu for tomorrow morning. Kudos to David for taking my call, and making me feel like I was exactly where I was meant to be, in the middle of a very long journey.

Greeted by a lovely gentleman that offered us the choice of tables to ensure our visit was the best it could be. The food came out great portion sizes, they offer take out boxes for anything that can’t be finished I.e the pizza, all the food lovely and extremely hot. Can’t fault it. The staff are very attentive. Will definitely be going back soon.

The food is good as is the service. Some reviews have said that the portions are small. I would say that they are adequate. A good selection of beers. Worth a visit.

An amazing place! Food and staff were all lovely. Alpacas and goats as neighbours and an excellent view from the beer garden. We were in a campervan and were allowed to stay on the overflow car park, just excellent. Will definitely be back soon!

Had a meal with friends here....food was amazing. Gluten free options were fab, so much so, I had 3 starters instead of a main course. GF Tempura king prawns were gorgeous as was the GF cauliflower fritters. Will definitely recommend this place and will be going back soon. Lovely decor, very clean and very friendly staff too.

We stopped for a drink, and they have a lovely garden, good selection of nice drinks and food. Plus, a lovely cat, lamas and goats next door. Great place for families and dogs because there is a good space between the tables which is rare but makes it a comfortable experience.

Friendly patient staff. Cannot fault the service, the food was unbelievably good and the room clean and comfortable with lashings of hot water. Thank you all. What a brilliant team.
