A quaint pub in the sticks north of Minworth. Ample parking. Good service overall and was friendly. Excellent food. No issues and would recommend and revisit. The restaurant was decorated very nice. The mains and dessert were nice and the quantity was enough. The desserts could have been served warmer. When we got the bill, we were given another tables bill, which was corrected after. Overall I would rate this experience a 8.5 out of 10.

Great for summer drinks after work. Lovely secluded setting and had a nice vibe outside until they turn the speakers on. I haven’t sat inside for a meal but pizza outside is decent. The dough was ok, it was a little devoid of any real taste but it was tasty enough that it beats any out of the box oven pizza.

It was pretty busy when we arrived so I would very much recommend booking a table in advance if you can. There seemed to be a fair few young families in too. As it was a Sunday a good half of the menu was dedicated to roast dinners and we opted for the half chicken option. It was honestly one of the best roasts I've had in a pub, good crispy potatoes, giant Yorkshire pud, bread sauce, a (rather small but delicious) pig in blanket and unlimited gravy (which we very much enjoyed!). We asked if we could have a short interval between courses and the staff were happy to oblige before we then had the chocolate bomb. It was very decadent (probably a bit too much toffee sauce) but very delicious. Good flavours and a good size portion.

Everything was superb .... nothing could be improved upon and Becky was very attentive. One of our party had allergies, everything was taken care of. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a table for 13 for my Mom's 88th birthday. Superb thank you.

We absolutely love this place and have been locals for years. However, over the past few weeks we have noticed a significant decrease of staff on the ground and as a result, slower service than usual. We can see that the staff are trying their best but as a result of POOR MANAGEMENT we feel as though the potential and offering this amazing restaurant has, has decreased significantly. Disappointing as we’ve experienced amazing service for years now, not sure what has changed but definitely noticeable. As usual, the food was amazing and the staff available were so lovely.

Lovely country pub. Good selection on the menu, I had the half chicken roast which was enjoyable. Starters were quite average but the chocolate brownie is superb. Always friendly service - we come here all the time!

Nicely furbished, very engaging staff and the food is tasty and well presented. I cant really fault it as its what you look for in a 'country' style pub and does what it says on the tin. The staff are very on the ball and everyone seemed to be attended to at once which is a real plus. Sunday lunch is very good and we will go back there for more of that. Overall its a nice experience and we would recommend it.

Atmosphere is good with friendly staff, however quality of food for the amount you pay is poor. We did enjoy the pork belly however I ordered the 3 cheese n mushroom pizza which was very disappointing as there was hardly any topping . I remember ordereding this at a different location and this too did not have enough topping on. My husband ordered the crab linguine which had the potential to be exquisite if the flavour had not been destroyed by the extra chilli running through. Would recommend but you may want to be careful with what dishes you order as it seems to be hit n miss

Relaxed atmosphere, good choice on menu, food was delicious as was the wine and coffee. Attentive and and helpful service by Mark (I think that is his name). I require gluten free and he looked up relevant information about dishes and asked the chef where necessary. The loos are lovely! While there is a good choice on the menu this is principally for meat and fish eaters. I am vegetarian and a coeliac which can make life a little tricky. While there are indications of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, there is none for gluten free which I would find helpful and reassuring. However, Mark did ensure that the dishes I chose were gluten free. 5 stars for Mark!

I came with my parents on 29/6/23. Absolutely amazing service. The waitress was so lovely, made you feel really at ease and went through the menu. All the waitresses who served us were amazing. Food was so delicious. Fresh ingredients and wonderful flavours. Cocktails lovely too. Thank you to the team for a lovely evening. Will 100% go back!!

We booked a private room at this pub for my nieces 21st birthday the food was fantastic and so was the staff especially, Millie so helpful and nothing was a problem for her.. Thank you.. but can I say there was a few, minor issues.. The room was a bit dated and could do with a bit of t.l.c. one of the toilets wasn't available so we all had to share the lady's toilet. I'm very sorry to say but the room had a terrible sewerage smell. the door to the private room doesn't close properly wich wasn't very private at times..

Good food , not gourmet but excellent none the less. Service was very good. Restaurant was decorated very nicely. A little pricey but what isn't these days. Also has a choice of beer and lagers. We'll worth a visit.

Beautiful food, ribeye cooked to perfection with a delicious bordelaise sauce, service was impeccable, friendly and very fast service, venue is beautiful and well decorated with a lot of flowers everywhere. Witnessing new outdoor furniture came and all staff were seen to be very excited about it. Great atmosphere, looking forward to returning

All 4 of us had the traditional turkey meal for our Christmas dinner and was PERFECT, the turkey breast was juicy and cooked to perfection, the carrots and parsnips with perfect sweetness and the roast potatoes seasoned beautifully. We been asked if we would like more vegetables and gravy and we did. How can we refuse? Perfect dinner!!! So well done!

Classic, elevated pub food in the cutest, most cozy countryside pub. I had the maple pork belly with scallops and it was beyond succulent.

Was really disappointed as went out with family, 7 for Sunday lunch, two meals were returned as cold and one had very little pork belly on. Asked for burger with no burger sauce, arrived with burger sauce on. Did not say until ordering puddings that had hardly any puddings left, would be best to notify customers in advanced so could decide if want starter instead. When received bill had other tables drinks on our bill. Was lovely place and waitress was really pleasant, but rushed off feet.

Decided to come here with my family for a Sunday roast after reading good reviews. The staff managed to squeeze us in at short notice in the bar service area as the restaurant was full. The roast dinners were cold and had to be sent back to be warmed up. Furthermore, the gravy came out a good 10 minutes after the dinners. My gran could not eat her beef as it was not cooked enough. The portion was a really decent size but it was disappointing that the meals were not warm and came out at all different times. There were also many flies by our table. The fish and chips was a great portion which my Grampa really enjoyed

Table booked for 19:30 for 4 of us. The venue is really nice and staff are pleasant however attention needs to be paid on what a customer orders. 3 of our meals were fine however I ordered steak at £25 and specifically asked for fries and not chips. And I asked her twice to which she confirmed my order. Steak arrived and its served with chips. The steak had also been over tenderised it was cold and mushy. At £25, value for money was zero not happy at all

The food was definitely not up to par on previous visits. The lamb was quite tough/chewy. Chips were very hard so didn't finish them. It was a disappointing visit. Staff asked if we enjoyed the food which we gave them feedback on our thoughts. They did take some money off our bill due to this - thank you but really not about taking money off the bill and more about quality and standards.

Been coming in for over 4 years never left a review before, however, Millie has always been exceptional and is partly why we come back weekly. Love these pubs we use The Whittington and The Tame Otter. All the staff in those pubs are great

The wife and I popped in for a just quick drink on a very quiet Sunday evening. Unfortunately we sat near the bar and I can't say that I was impressed with the room layout, our drinks or the atmosphere. Of course the dining area and the food may be a different kettle of fish but I can only go by my experience and I wouldn't return.

The food was delicious, the vegetables were so fresh and flavoursome and so was the roast beef and belly pork. Really enjoyed our visit. Only critism we had, we weren't offered steak knives to cut through the meat. We did ask for one and the waitress was very accommodating. We got there for 12 noon, to avoid the Sunday rush and it was lovely and quiet but was soon picking up before we left.

Great food with a real family owned pride in the service. Was playing at The Belfry so we ate here two nights in a row. Delicious!

I like it here. It has a nice relaxed atmosphere and appears very clean and maintained. On this occasion, we were promptly seated but nobody came to ask us if we wanted drinks and it was a good 15 minutes before our actual dinner order was taken. In the meantime, I approached the bar to order drinks but, whilst I was the only person at the bar, it still took several minutes for the barman to acknowledge me. When dinner arrived, they forgot our side orders and only brought them out several minutes later when I politely complained. They also brought over an empty salt shaker for us to try and work out how to use before having to exchange it. Had this been my first visit, I feel it would have been my last.
