Consistently the best service and food of any restaurant we have enjoyed in Leicester. Legendary chutney tray! Chef is happy to adapt dishes and tailor to your taste. Super friendly and welcoming staff. This place is always busy for a reason. Good wines. We always leave full and happy. Thank you. 😊

Friendly staffs !!! Didn’t even they do justify to their name ( Spice bazzar ) all of their food were lacking spices and salt and especially I’ve never had coconut rice that was sweet , it felt like a dessert couldn’t even have it with the curry , paratha was a bit sweet (lacking of salt) and same for the jalfrezi as well i did add some salt and pepper to it , chicken tandoori was good but still i were served some yogurt when asked for mint chutney which was sweet as well

I'll just preface this by saying I never leave bad reviews but I was just compelled to comment as we were really disappointed with the food. We ordered from this restaurant last week after hearing that it had won an award as being the best restaurant in Leicester. Craving good asian food we decided to order a selection of things. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with what we got. I am asian and the flavours were not authentic in any way. The butter chicken was syrupy sweet and ive never tasted a butter chicken like it before. It was as if spoonfuls of sugar had been added. The lamb chop buna had almost raw pieces of lamb mixed in, although the curry had good flavour I couldn't stomach eating a curry with meat that wasnt fully cooked. The only decent thing we ordered was the biryani. We were really close to calling back the restaurant but as it was late we decided not to. There is a lot of room for improvement and i'm really sorry but I dont think they deserve the title for best restaurant in Leicester when there are better places you can get a curry in the city.

The service was great, staff was welcoming and friendly funny. The food was nice, like they give you lot of choice of sauce with the poppadom, and portion are large. Price are reasonable too.

The food was incredible! The mix of sweet and spicy flavours tingled our taste buds! I loved the service, our host was super kind might I say! We even came with our list to save their time! No wonder it won the best restaurant award, it was WELL deserved 👏🏾 Coming back again

My first visit last night to Spice Bazarr.. Truely exceptional. From a warm door opened for you welcome to the no worries I'll bring your bill to the table our service didn't miss a beat. As others mentioned best pickle tray ever.. Skip the starters and order more poppadoms. (do have a starter they are amazing).. The waiter realised I was interested in seafood and made a recommendation.. Scallops Tawalli.. What a dish Scallops cooked to perfection in a stunning aromatic sauce. Mushroom Rice wow.. Thanks to all.

We had dinner here 10/04/22 It was a lovely evening and the staff were very helpful. I had been advised to have scallops as I love seafood and they certainly didn’t disappoint. Delicious. We all had a terrific meal. We will certainly book again when we next visit leicester.

Was expecting big things as they always seem really busy! I ordered a selection of vegetables curries, all of which tasted bland and exactly the same. The naan was amazing though. They said on the phone that it would take an hour so I arrived and had to wait another 30 minutes in the restaurant. Bit awkward when you’re sat in your comfy home clothes in the middle of a busy restaurant! I wasn’t offered a drink or any poppadoms whilst I waited which I thought wasn’t great after having to wait for so long. Won’t be going back.

Simply the best Indian restaurant in Leicester. Great friendly service, and excellent food cooked to perfection. We use this regularly for dining in, but we also come here to pick up food to take home - for takeaway, the prices might look a little bit pricier than your average high street takeaway, but don't be put off: the portions are generous so we always get two meals out of a portion, and the quality is a million times better, so it's great food and great value for money whether you eat in or out.

Excellent staff, excellent food, great value. Our servers were super friendly and we had a nice chat while waiting for our food. Service was a bit slow, however, to be fair, we’re a family of 5 and ordered lots of food. Chicken, lamb, curries… everything we ordered was very tasty and prices were reasonable. The portions were generous and we took home some leftovers. Looking forward to visiting again when we’re in Leicester. 10/10

My go to local Indian restaurant. The talk is always about the legendary pickle tray which all my friends talk about. There is something for everyone. The food is wholesome and with great flavours. If you are ever stuck or fancy a change from your normal fish the team make fantastic recommendations.

Spice Bazaar have been offering a Mother's Day special menu with a starter, main course, a naan or rice for £15 so went along today with the family. The restaurant was lovely and we were made very welcome. The service and quality of food was second to none and the flavours were exquisite. We all came away full and very content. It has always been a wonderful place for a meal and it still very much is. Thoroughly recommended and open every day of the year as well.

One word review: Overrated Probably the worst Indian restaurant in Leicester in terms of portion sizes, taste, and value for money. Starters: Not like your usual Indian restaurants (Paddy's, Little Club etc) . Sizzler is well below average. This needs to change so it can be shared rather than for 1 person. Same goes for other starters too. Mains: Well just average. The naans aren't the best. Service: Rushed to order the food, didn't get asked how everything was. Much better Indian restaurants in Leicester elsewhere!!

Food was inedible.. I asked for the curry not to be Cooked with red chilli powder, and instead use fresh green chillies - was told the chillies are all mixed together. ( first restaurant I know of that doesn’t keep fresh green chillies ) even though they made the dish for me before and was perfect. Won’t be ordering again as I’ve wasted enough money already with Spice Bazaar. 👎🏽👎🏽

Given a table in the window, felt like goldfish everyone passing by looking in. Food was average not sure the about hype in the press. Ordered Veg karahi, when the order came it was veg korma it was too late to send back after we had taken curry in our plate. It was mentioned at the end when the waiter came to pick up our plates that we were given wrong curry. Albeit the waiter did take the cost of the wrong curry off the bill. Our overall opinion was the food is very average in taste.

Great Indian restaurant on the Welford Road. They have a huge selection of dishes from different regions. Service is friendly and efficient, and the food is excellent. Portions are pretty big. This place was busy so I would recommend booking.

Rang up the Spice Bazaar at 18:35 checked in my call log and was advised it would take 40 minutes, I walked into the small restaurant at 07:10 40mins later and was rudely told I was about 15 minutes too early... someone needs to go back to school and learn to calculate. On top of that I was told to hang round upstairs, after another 15 minutes was told I was in the way and to sit down. By the time i had my food it had in fact been an hour, during which i had seen multiple people come and go with their orders. Overall appaulling experience and I will never be returning. I have a had far service elsewhere! 0/10. Continued... as per the reply from said restaurant I am not at all surprised that they are customer blaming, food was 20mins late going off their (timing) system. Poor buismanship to blame a customer rather than apologising and taking on the feedback.

Had such a great time here! The waiter helped me and my guest choose the best main meal that tailored our taste buds. They even kept the drinks flowing, which again was something we requested. They really was attentive and happy to spend time and chat with us, as it's a family run business with a lot of history related to Leicesters great culture from all around Leicestershire. Thanks again Steve

Very unassuming from the outside but WOW the service is great and the food is the best we’ve had since moving to Leicester. It was really busy (Saturday) so recommend you book rather than just turning up

We have been visiting Spice Bazzar since our son found it during his uni days. It’s always on our places to visit when we get back to Leicester all the staff are friendly and welcoming and the food and service never disappoint. We would highly recommend Spice Bazzar.

We always entertain our friends from Northampton for the rugby derby and eat here afterwards. This is the best curry house in Leicester by a country mile. Food and staff superb. They get very busy for a reason so booking recommended. I can only assume the negative reviews are either trolls or sour competitors, ignore and go try!

Just had a superb meal at the Spice Bazzar. What specifically makes me give them five stars is the complexity and depth of the spices without losing the meat flavour. The staff are friendly knowledgeable and the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality. The setting is unprepossessing the emphasis is on the food. Considerable care is taken on presentation complimenting a wide range of dishes. Advice being offered regarding dishes to balance flavour and palette. My guests had been four times before. I certainly will be going again.

Good service Good choice of football Good service reasonable prices. But be careful when you go.If the Tigers are playing at home and it's an late afternoon game.We went on a Saturday evening and it was mostly full of Leicester Tigers fans .The majority were quite but the table opposite us was a bit loud (eight 🏉 blokes) but it didn't spoil our evening. We only had to put up with them for about half an hour before we'd finished our meal.

Pickle tray is the best I've had in a very long time. Naan perfectly thin and crispy. Lemon rice very good (asked them to add some green chillies for a nice kick). Chicken Jaipur was excellent, never had it before but glad I tried it. Mixed karai was delicious with lots of meat. Fantastic place and great value for money.

Replying to the owners reply - First of all you should state the portion sizes on the menu to avoid confusion. And the waiter did not say whether the food was okay. And even if the main is for one person only it's definitely not with the tiny pieces of chicken in the curry. The menu is not very clear.
