Disappointing Experience! I just visited The Regency, and I must say, it didn't live up to its hype. Let's dive into the details... Ambience (1/5): The place is loud like a fish market. The large table on 12.08.23 next to us had like 10 people screaming at the top of their voice. Even the servers apologized multiple times and even the manager couldn't do anything. We asked to move the table and due to the noise and the excuse given was "it's a Saturday". The food (2/5): I would I would say is below average. I was quite underwhelmed. Other similar restaurants such as Spice Rack, the Everest and Mumbai Local has better quality food. The only course I liked was the starters which included the crispy bhindi, chilli paneer (was actually NOT nice, had like a sticky BBQ sauce), peri chips. The mains all tasted like they had the same gravy and for the prices, was small. The server apologized for the kitchen being busy. The sevice (2/5): As much as the staff were friendly, I hate not rating this good. All the starters arrived about 15mins apart and I asked for water 4 times to be told it's on the way. I'd rate the server as he did feel bad and apologized a few times. He was kind and I appreciate this. We ordered a lassi as per the menu (£3.85ish) and were served a pint. We didn't know this until we were charged £15 for 2x lassi. This should be checked with the customer and not assumed. At this point we just wanted to get out of the fish market. So we paid and left never to go again. In conclusion, my visit to The Regency was marked by a series of disappointments, from the horrid setting to the underwhelming fare and service. While the efforts of certain staff members were noted, the overall experience was far from satisfactory. Unfortunately such a place has a loyal fan base due to the decades it's been around. So they will always have that.... For new customers it will be disappoting especially if you have tried other restaurants in the locality.

Being one of the most revered and long standing Indian restaurant in the area, the Regency offers up tantalisingly tasty food in relaxed surrounds. Things not to miss include the chilli paneer and the bhajiya. However I found the paneer curry bland and the Hara Bhara kebabs lacking seasoning. Service was impeccable with the waiters giving us great recommendations. Food was expensive and the seating arrangement cramped. There was literally no space in between the tables meaning it was hard to strike up a conversation without being heard. Always a good idea to book even on weekdays.

Never knew such a gem existed in Queensbury. I cannot handle spicy food, but their food had so much flavour, I did not even notice the spice. The staff are friendly and the service is pretty good. I would definitely would recommend this place.

First time that we visited this place for a family function and it wa fantastic from start to finish. We were a group of 13 with a mix of children and adults and from the moment we arrived, the service we received was excellent. From accommodating seating requests and specific adjustments to food orders for the kids and individual preferences, to the food coming out in an organised and prompt fashion. The food was very tasty, authentic and rich in both flavour and spices. Do note that The kids portions are rather generous so you may benefit from order portions to share between kids to avoid food wastage. The music and ambience was brilliant and they also have sports screens in various locations which was an added bonus. You can park directly outside the venue for a cost, or you can park 3-5 mins walk away on a number of the neighbouring residential roads for FREE! Strongly recommend this place and will definitely be returning!

A hidden gem. Food was fantastic (to my taste). We’ve been coming here for over 10 years, so most of the people “know us” as soon as we walked into the Club, so being attentive in serving our regular is standard.

The food holds a good standard against your average Indian restaurant. Curries were NOT oily, flavours were balanced, portion sizes are fair, and service was efficient throughout. Would recommend the tandoor lamb and chicken, which were impressively tender and full of flavour. As mentioned by other reviewers, restaurant is very strict with its closing hours and staff are not shy to usher their customers out.

Not great The spices on the chilli paneer overpowered the whole dish. The chicken curry was okay definitely had better. Naan wasn’t fluffy or soft, it crack when you tore it. Meal was okay 4/10 wouldn’t revisit or recommend

It was my first time to be at the regency club. I went with my work colleagues, which they highly recommended for their food. It was soo busy means Great Food. I was quite impressed. The service was top notch by Pankaj and Team. The food was really good, I would recommend and also visit again in future.

I live in Colindale and I'm so lucky to have this restaurant nearby - it is my favourite place for Indian food! We ordered the Mushkarki, the legendary Garlic Mogo and Keema peas. The Mushkarki was perfectly grilled and so tender. The Garlic Mogo was delicious but be warned if you eat too much of it you won't have space in your belly for the main! The Keema Peas and peshwari nan arrived last and was a perfect combo. Pricewise the dishes aren't expensive and the dish sizes are good - would recommend 👍

Heard about Regency Club through social media and had to try it out. The place was super busy even for a weekday which is a good sign. The food quality was good and also right portion size. The staff were friendly and helpful good atmosphere. Didn't get a chance to try any of the main dishes was too stuffed on the starters (next time for sure). Definitely worth a visit for Indian Fix.

We went for dinner twice. We ordered peri peri chips, mutton Biriyani, chicken tikka and lamb shawarma. Food was amazing. Service was good. When order was delay they gave complimentary kulfi. Place is very crowded and very loud. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

Top tier restaurant!!! Hadn't been here in years, so I decided to pop in for a few starters. The garlic mogo was the best I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly, crispsy outside and fluffy inside. Chicken wings were very tasty and the char added to the flavour. Great size wings and flavoursome. Tandoori lamb chops were juicy, marinated perfectly and a decent size but the only bad thing is that they were really fatty. The atmosphere was buzzing, portion sizes were good and the prices are reasonable. We didn't mind the 2 hour slot because there were two of us, but it could be an issue with larger groups. I'd definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Atmosphere was so good, staff were attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much, they even replaced all our drinks without us asking when a glass was smashed near us. Same manager has been running this place for over two decades. Food exceptional, think this is the best Indian restaurant you’ll find in northwest London!

Very lively restaurant and bar, excellent food and portion size very generous although you pay a premium price for size. The food quality is very high, good cuts of meat. Tender lamb and king prawns were on point. Particularly enjoyed the fresh Bombay mix, chopped onion, green chilli, nuts, crispy tortilla type mix / presented in a wooden bowl with two spoons. Clever stuff. We ordered lots, but took a fair amount away in a doggy bag.

An Indian gem restaurant located 2 min from Queensbury station, in the Jubilee line in North London. They do dine in and also take away. It is a big restaurant very well know by the locals. We walked in and we had a table straight away but it gets very busy, especially over the weekend. Food was really good quality, fresh and tasty. It was worth the trip to North London! Really good Indian. Portions and very generous and if you can’t finish your dish, they’ll bag it up for you to take home. Great atmosphere, very family friendly.

The starters are the best! The service is fantastic. Had a mixed grill and some mains, I’ve had better mains, but the starters are the star of the show. Quite expensive, but worth the cost imo. Great Kenyan Indian food.

Amazing food! Definitely one to book as it gets very busy. We ordered the regency mixed grill with naan and it was so filling we had no room for mains! It was so delicious, the chops were unreal. Their lychee cocktail was delicious too. Service was great and very efficient. Definitely want to go back to try more from the menu.

A lovely hidden gem, in a quiet neighbourhood, boasting one of the best grills I've had in a long while. The grilled chicken wings are a must have order when you come here. Mouthwatering, succulent bursting with flavour and the unique seared edge from the cooking process. A side of casava chips and that's all you need to fill your tummy. The bar has a wide selection of drinks, beers, cocktails and mocktails to wash it down afterwards. The service is superb and very fast with very friendly staff to make you feel welcome and comfortable. So if you're looking for a pub and fancy an Indian whilst watching the football, it's all here under one roof. The Regency Club.

Super friendly staff. Tasty but really heavily seasoned and spicy. The salad that come with the food looked like a bowl of food for rabbits, not well presented. Venue decor was cool.

We enjoyed our lunch here, We hadn't been in many years but the quality of food remained the same. We ordered lots of starters and they all were amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes. Had done a takeaway of methi corn and chaana masala which I had later on in the evening, and both dishes were average so can't comment a lot on the mains. But all the starters are very very good and would recommend it. Please try for yourself but this place has been around for years and always buys so that says a lot about the quality and services they provide. Staff are very good and prompt with food and taking orders

This is honestly my favourite Indian restaurant (desi pub). I’ve been coming here for over 12 years and I’ve never ever had a bad meal. Most recent visit was last week, and the meal as always was fantastic. The Kenyan infusion to the food makes it all the more enjoyable. Another bonus is they serve Tusker beer, goes brilliantly with any dish you order. Pankaj at front of house is always pleasant when greeting on arrival, and always does his best to facilitate the best table available. You can taste the freshness in every dish that is sent out to eat, the fact they have an open kitchen for you to see shows how proud they are to cook these dishes. The atmosphere and ambience is always very vibrant, definitely a place to go and have a good time! I can’t recommend this place enough!

Absolutely incredible food! This restaurant offers an amazing Indian menu with live sports/bar. Very busy on the weekend so would definitely book online. We had the bhindi masala, plant based chicken curry, Marahi methi lamb, tilapia fish and keema peas - all were sensational! They have a range of drinks, soft, beers, cocktails and mocktails. The restaurant is spacious with a variety of table sizes. On the weekends it’s no children in the evening. We had more than enough food for 5 people and the bill came to £150- very reasonably considering the quality of food!

In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations, the new needs friends. Last night, I experienced something new, an extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine cooking is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for the famous motto: Anyone can cook. But I realize, only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking at The Regency Club, who is, in this critic’s opinion, nothing less than the finest chef in London. I will be returning to Regency soon, hungry for more.

We called the restaurant prior to our visit to ask whether we would need to book or we can just walk in. The gentleman in the phone confirmee we do not need a booking and can just walk in. When we visited we were told we should have made a booking but they will make an exception and give us a table but we would need to order everything at once. Disappointed and left with no choice as no other restaurants around, we decided to stay and order all together. Starters to eat and mains to take away. The entire food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering including mains. All starters were dry and seemed to have been microwaved just before serving. Had we not been asked to order together we wouldve not ordered mains judging by the quality of their starters. We were in and out within 15 minutes, £63 down. Absolutely awful experience. Also, not all the waiters were wearing a mask including the one that took our order. No sign of social distancing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

We recently ordered a take away and we were not happy. Firstly the food arrived after 90 minutes of ordering and when it did get here it was cold. No point ordering a take away if you have to warm it up in the microwave again. We called the restaurant and was told by a member of staff that they were busy and that's why the food was probably cold. Have been eating regency food for years but we were really dissapointed with the cold food and no help from the restaurant after calling them.

The Regency is an extremely popular traditional Indian Restaurant in the heart of Queensbury that is a staple for locals. It has recently undergone a huge and stunning refurbishment to give it an elegant feel with a beautiful tiled floor and old library style feel. There are lots of vegan, vegetarian, fish and meat options available making it extremely popular for all. Try the mogo chips, crispy okra and lamb cutlets or chops. To finish it off, round of the meal with one of the kulfi options

Been here a few times. Never fails to amaze you. Food is alway consistantly amazing. The chops and wings are my personal fav. Great busy environment with birthday parties , family get togethers and sports going on around you. Always fully booked so make you book a table well in advance. Even tho its always fully booked you never have to wait longer than 10min for your food to get to your table.

Absolutely nothing to critique. Everything was perfect! We arrived with no booking (walk-in) on a busy Saturday evening and were given a table within 30 mins which is actually amazing for this peak time. The service from “Ibrahim” was amazing. Great personality great attention to detail with our food and drinks , the rest of their servers supporting him in ensuring our table was looked after were also amazing. Quick to bring food from order , quick to bring drinks from order , amazing service! And the food..... there were 6 of us and trust me we ordered A LOT... everything was perfect. Well cooked, great flavours, great presentation just honestly faultless. LAMB CUTLETS THE WINNER OF THE NIGHT!!!

Been going here the last 10 years and use to go once a month without a doubt with the lads and travel 1hour 40 mins to get there, and the food never disappoints. However it gets way too busy now and everytime it comes to booking a table it's got to be well in advance to get a good time slot which doesn't work well with us when before we would turn up and wait 30 mins or an hour at the bar before getting a table, so weve stopped coming here and exploring other places. Purple flame restaurant not far away if Regency is busy it's just as good
