This could be my new favorite local Indian restaurant. So I've been wanting to try here for ages but just never got round to it. The restaurant has a relaxed ambience and a really nice feel. It's spacious and the decor is devine. Tables are spaced well enough apart that you don't feel cramped at all. The wait for food is a bit lengthy but then I would assume everything is made fresh. Naan bread was beautiful, all dishes that we ordered again were amazing. I will definitely be visiting here again and would perhaps like to see the outdoor area as the pictures of it look beautiful too.

An absolutely fantastic curry. The restaurant is deceiving you go in a tiny door from the street and then into a fabulous decorated restaurant. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. But the real star is the food amazing/tasty and pleasant to the eye

My wife and I decided to revisit this place after several years. Intrigued by its reputation for award-winning curry, we found it to be a modern and spacious Indian restaurant. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and one waiter, in particular, provided excellent recommendations and attentive service. While the extensive menu posed a challenge for my indecisive nature, the waiter's assistance made the selection process easier. We began with haggis pakora and poppadoms with a chutney tray for starters – both quite enjoyable. For mains, my wife chose the butter chicken, and I opted for the Ashoks Special Mix Curry. We shared pilau rice and garlic naan. Although not the best curries we've ever had, they were certainly very good. The garlic naan, soft, buttery, and full of flavour. The last time we had garlic naan it was rather disappointing but The Radhuni do them the way we like. The pilau rice was also satisfying. Despite the quiet ambiance, which surprised us given the restaurant's quality, we thoroughly enjoyed our Indian dining experience. It's a pleasure to have such a delightful local restaurant, and whether it's the best Indian in Midlothian is certainly debatable.

We went a group of friends. Everyone enjoyed food a lot. Service is amazing. Ambience of restaurant is really cool. I glad I found this gem in Edinburgh. All the food we ordered is outstanding. The things which I made us disappointed is we ordered chicken dum biryani by paying £13.25 for each. The quantity which we received is not at all up-to the mark. It just got a 4-5 spoon full of rice in it. It so shame that food is nice but quantity is not until. Apart from that we enjoyed everything

So went with few friends inside is beautiful nice and clean Friendly staff then here came the menu and my eyes popped out £4.95 for 1 pishwari naans the curry I've ordered was for £12.95 and the portion was small. food tasted amazing tho no doubt in that and yes I do recommend it but the price is way too much.

Wonderful evening for a birthday celebration. Service was so attentive and polite, all members of the team going above and beyond. Starters were some of the best we've had - not greasy at all and well presented. Good curries all round, good portion sizes - plenty to take home for tomorrow!!

Let's cut to the chase shall we? Its a wee bit on the expensive side (for me .... because I'm a cheap skate) but the food is so bloody delicious that you'll forget about how much you paid for it. Seriously folks, this place is AMAZING! The first time I'd eaten from The Radhuni was a takeaway and driving home with the smell of the food in the car was torture! If I'd had a fork with me I'd have opened up one of those containers and munched as much as I'd be able to before getting home! It was absolutely delicious. My mouth is watering just thinking about the food as I'm writing this review. Beautiful restaurant, lovely staff and outstandingly mouthwatering food. If you're thinking of ordering a takeaway or sitting in to dine then stop thinking and go for it.

Every dish was a delight! The haggis pakoras were unique, they still had the peppery haggis flavour and crisp batter you'd expect, but with added notes of curry blended through the haggis mix. The onion bhajis, crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, added a much needed crunch when used to mop up some extra curry sauce. For us, the true test for any Indian restaurant is the balance of flavours in their curry's, both of which were perfect for our taste! However, after stuffing our faces we could only make our way through half of what we ordered! Thankfully though, The Radhuni's portion sizes were so generous, it meant we could recreate the same experience and enjoy all of those delicious flavours again the next day!

Visited the Radhuni once again as we love the food in the restaurant but again failed to deliver the food in a reasonable timeframe booked a table for 19:30pm and got Main meal at 21:45pm !!! Got popadoms within 2 minutes and were asked to order meal in 5 minutes when we hadn’t even read the menus !! Starter came in good time after popadoms. After starters were finished at approx 20:15pm this is when the long wait started another 1hr 30mins yes 1hr 30mins until we were given our main meal and not even a suggestion of a complimentary drink while we waited. I had to ask for a drink while we waited which was obviously not our fault. We were about to get up and leave as our appetite was draining by the minute !!! Just a few minutes later the food arrived at 09:45pm. The food was actually lovely but we were very unhappy by this time and our experience was very bad. We tried to enjoy the food under the circumstances and had ate most of our main meal when The waiters kept asking if we were finished so they could clear the table ?? I simply said it took 2 hours to get here you’re not getting your plates back just yet !!! We ended up being the last customers in the restaurant which is the reason we were being asked if we were finished ? All in all one of the worst experiences waiting for food I have ever been been subject to. The kitchen appears to be too small for the size of restaurant or they do too many take aways and can’t accommodate the restaurant customers. Really sorry for this situation as when the food arrives it’s actually delicious. This was the 2nd time in a row we had experienced this waiting time and we thought we would give the restaurant a chance to rectify our previous experience but they failed again. It’s a pity as the food is actually very good but I’d advise a takeaway rather than the restaurant experience !! 3rd January 2023 I have just had a takeaway as the restaurant experience on my last 2 occasions were very poor so I advised above of maybe choosing a takeaway !! I have just had a take away and now experienced very poor food quality !!! I will add pictures for the evidence on how poorly the food was supplied. The salad to go with my samosa was brown and obviously had been lying for a long time as that certainly was NOT fresh salad !! We also ordered a Garlic Nan bread al which was most definetly NOT a Nan bread !! If anything it was a very poor substitute of a chapati ??? We have the Radhuni one last chance but I’m afraid they have failed badly !! Maybe we have just been unlucky on our last 3 experiences but I’m sure this is not just a coincidence !! We will now be looking elsewhere to find a proper Indian Restaurant or take away !!

From a seemingly small shop front going into the venue is like entering Doctor Who's "Tardis". Beautifully large interior complimented by lovely decor. Family friendly in so far as we arrived just after opening at 4.30pm for our grand daughters birthday meal and served by wonderfully attentive staff. Quick service for both food and drinks. Food excellent and well priced. Definitely be back and highly recommend.

Who in the whole of UK can call this Dal Makhni? I really doubt, if anyone can. Super disappointed, went to Radhuni for a takeaway order, specifically asked the person who was taking order, if they can prepare Dal Makhni (even though it was not in the menu). He checked in the Kitchen and confirmed, yes that can be done and i placed the order. Now when i came back home found this yellow Dal, with Makhni written over it. I would have never ever ordered this, if anyone would have told me, there definition of Dal Makhni is adding butter in Dal Tadka! Thanks for having us first and last time… even other food was just very average, wouldn’t ever recommend this restaurant to anyone who knows the real taste of Indian cuisine.

I've tried every curry place in the area (or at least it feels that way), and can honestly say the Radhuni has the absolute best food by far! It's always fresh, with lots of meat, tasty sides and generous portions. Well worth the slight extra you'll pay!

Haven't been in this place since the 80's when it was the Fountain pub but it's very different now. It's the best looking Indian restaurant I've ever been in. My meal, lamb rezalla, was spot on delicious. Service was excellent too the draft cobra is great. Can't fault it at all! Highly recommend this place if you're a curry fan.

Lovely restaurant with nice food & great service with screens galore for social distancing ! Which is a shame but it’s the best they could’ve done. Reasonably priced too Only blip was the waiter not bringing back the right change even though it was all for the tip, looked liked he was keeping the note for himself?

This is the furthest Indian restaurant from me (probably) in the UK, however after tasting other Indian restaurants up and down the UK, none of them can compete with the taste and consistency of the Radhuni. 100% the best Indian in the UK, by far. Personal service, and consistently amazing food. I’ll always come back here.

I promised to write a review about last night’s (19-9-23) experience but I forgot so I’m doing it now! We decided to try this Indian restaurant because a number of people recommended it to us. Boy they did not lie! First the reception was very good, we got drinks right away, the waiter was very polite and nice. We started off with papadums and some dips (which were amazingly flavorful). After that the waiter checked with us if we were ready for our mains, that was a very nice touch. Dinner came, we had the Rice Special as a side, Lamb Tika Kebab, chicken Kashmiri and garlic nan. It was absolutely amazing! We’ve had plenty of Indian food at numerous palaces across the globe and we can honestly say this was one of the best we’ve had, EVER! So all in all, the service was excellent, the atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice and the food was exceptional. So, if anybody is anywhere near Loanhead, check this place out! And I kid you not, we finished it all. See picture for the damage😇 wish I had a before picture but unfortunately I don’t, so this will do.

We got a takeaway of a selection of three vegetarian curries this week, and frankly they were disappointing. They all tasted and looked very similar: one had pineapple and one was slightly more spicy. Overabundance of peas in each of the curries but otherwise they all were underwhelming and did not live up to expectations at all. Maybe the meat curries are better, but really dropped the ball with thr vegetable curries.

Had a great time last night. The waiter looked kinda nervous (possibly new) but he gave great service and kept our drinks full and tended to anything we needed. The food was fantastic (as the first time) and yes, it can be slightly pricey, but you get what you pay for. The savoury food was delicious, the meat was fantastically tender and flavoursome, and the rice was absolutely perfectly cooked! Oh and I’ve never had a naan like that before! My only gripe, which is small in the grand scheme of things, was dessert. £5 for a dessert in this quality of restaurant is as expected, however the tiramisu and my wife’s cheesecake were both mostly frozen, and had slight freezer burn. The flavours were delicious but non-frozen would have been ideal. I do regret that I didn’t bring my wallet, as I only use card these days. I felt the staff deserved a tip and I wasn’t able to provide one. But thank you for the fantastic evening!

Been going to this restaurant since it opened. Got to say until last Saturday its never let me down. The sauces were watered down to make them go further. I could count the pieces of chicken on one hand. Ripped off as they even had the audacity to increase prices. Less food, less quality and more money. Disgraceful. Won't be back.

Living locally, have visited The Radhuni many times over the years. The food, as always was excellent, however on this occasion we had to complain about the waiting times. A table of 6, arrived at 7pm, it was 8.30pm before our food arrived. We only ordered main courses, no starters. The waiters were very apologetic to be fair. Had we visited for the first time, this would have left a bad impression. Hopefully just a one off as we love the restaurant.

  • 2/5 Lilly B. 1 year ago on Google
Food is great but sadly is not worth while. Had a reservation for 6 people at 6.30, drink and starter orders were taken and came quickly. However, after our mains were ordered at 7, we did not receive food until after 8.20. We had hot plates and food warmers put on the table about 15 minutes before food was served, making the hot plates useless. Unfortunately, a server also spilled an entire pint on me. While the server was very apologetic and was quick to clean the spill, at no point did a member of management come to address the situation or offer assistance. Instead the lead floor manager corrected the server for cleaning up the spillage incorrectly- entirely ignoring me, my wet trousers, lap and jumper. After using 3 cloth napkins to clean myself up, I had to ask another server to remove the sodden napkins and bring us fresh ones. This was topped off by an entire dish for the table being forgotten and left on the bill. We requested for this dish to be removed from the bill- which it was, however, there was no compensation for a drink being spilled or apology by management. Mains were very good once they arrived however the experience overall was very disappointing.

This is a highly professional restaurant. The tables are inviting, clean and crisply laid. The service is outstanding: attentive, fast and friendly, non-intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our chicken korma, samooosas and garlic chicken. We shall be back.

Enjoyed a lovely meal at The Radhini this evening. We opted for the Sunday Banquet and were well impressed with the choices. For two people you got to choose two starters, three mains and two sides. This meant we were able to choose a-few of our favourite dishes to share. We were then also offered ice cream or coffee to finish off our meal. The food was brilliant and the service attentive. Will be back again soon! Thanks guys.

Never judge a book by its cover!! On the outside, it looks like a small takeaway. However it opens up into a large restaurant at the back. It also has outdoor space. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food is excellent. Our friends, who visit regularly, said they'd never had a poor meal; our meal was so good, so authentic. The prices were very reasonable. Will be back!

I've been meaning to come to this restaurant for a wee while considering it was voted the best indian restaurant in scotland last year and it's local. I was told that they were doing a free curry, rice and drink to all NHS workers, care workers and other key staff so decided to try it out. Ordered a lamb curry, the meat was tender and exactly how i like it, curry very flavourful. Paid for a peshwari naan on the side which was lovely. The service was really nice as well. It's good to be appreciated at these times and i want to thank everyone that works at radhuni and their partner restaurant ittihas (who had the same offer two weeks ago for key staff). Will definitely be returning to sit in the restaurant as it's long overdue.

Without a doubt the best Indian around. The food is perfect and the customer service is excellent too. I have visited a fair few times now and consistency is guaranteed. I last visited the restaurant on the 25th of November and myself and my partner were both highly impressed as always and very much appreciated the exceptional service we received from the member of staff who was working that night. Unfortunately we didn't manage to get his name as he was on the phone when we left, but since he was the only person working out front hopefully he can be easily identified and this comment passed onto him! Thanks again, and we hope to return in the very near future!

Don’t use the word Indian, if you don’t know what’s is the meaning of Hospitality. I never had such an experience from any other restaurant in India. I quit my dining and asked them to pack because of the behaviour of the staff there. I still don’t know about the food because, I just gave the food I ordered to someone as I lost my mood to have the food from there.
